Dear Ron:
I finally got around to reading PENUCQUEM SPEAKS, and find it totally fascinating, unlike anything else I've ever read. I don't know of anyone who has had the unique experience you have had, of living in two cultures, and therefore being in a position to learn from that. Quite an amazing trajectory, from Vietnam to Blackfeet culture. And your analysis of Whiteman thinking, Whiteman culture, fundamentalism, the difference between Jesus and Paul -- all very interesting to me. You bring us back to what Indian culture cherished, the equality of women, the preservation of nature, everything that "progress" and "civilization" have corrupted.
Thanks so much for letting me have your book.

Ron West has written a compelling book that will plunge you into Indian culture told from a very powerful, instightful voice. Hunter Thompson-esque, this great piece of work. From the first draft I had the privilege to review, I was impressed with his unique voice and edgy humor. Ron's important work is a must read.

Over the last 200 years Ron West is one of the few whites to get an unfettered inside view of the Native American world. He does not look in from the outside, but was directly taught by widely known and respected healers. He became a part of it. His transition from western civilization to the ancient Oral Tradition Indian world allowed him to acquire a unique knowledge. You discover the outcome in this book, a deep insight into this world from the Native perspective. The attentive reader will find information unavailable to this time because westerners were not allowed this knowledge, forbidden to outsiders. Dr. Karl Schlesier mentions in his foreword the chapter on the Stick Game divination is the best ever written in literature. Why has this happened now? You may find the answer in the very first sentences of the book, in Medicine Man Pat Kennedy's words:" I want the whole world to know". These words invite the reader to see and understand. With much Indian humor and sharp words of truth, westerners should bear in mind this is not only a book to explain the Indian worldview. You're also going to see your own civilization from the Indian eyes. This is sometimes a painful thing, even to the open minded. To those who are deeply rooted in western society and believe ours is the only road to walk, it could be a hazard to read this book.
Be that as it may, let's go on a journey with Strawberry (my favorite chapter) and keep in mind everybody is welcome to become the 23rd generation.

Ron's work is a true landmark!

The book provides a striking balance between cultural ethnography, personal confessional, and mythic parable all rolled into one. You will be entertained by West's singular humor, frankness, and perspective regarding life at the intersection of two distinct worlds. Its a book that's hard to put down in its unflinching look at life in Indian Country, within the context of modern America.

There is a subtle presence that lives within this book, with powerful truths both concealed and revealed throughout its pages, in layers of meaning and insight waiting to be revealed to the right eyes and ears.

Ron West is also an investigative journalist and legal historian who has chronicled to unparalled depths the true story of Indian-American affairs and the unfortunate deceits of history.

Much wisdom and mirth lies in these pages!

A Unique Advocate for Women All Over
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 1 total.
Review Date: 2008-05-19
Dr. Hess has an expertise and passion that makes him a unique advocate and guide to women all over. His pursuit of the disciplines of Chemistry and OB-GYN blended with solid knowledge of natural therapies and a passion for helping menopausal women gives him an unorthodox yet very balanced view of menopause and women's options at its onset. For women close to or at the onset of menopause, this book will help them make informed choices that suit their unique individual circumstances.

The book's tone is informative and balanced without sacrificing verve or enthusiasm. The passion isn't over the top, and thus has an honest voice when encouraging women to find the right treatment and regimen for them. The information is copious but compact---just the right amount of important information women will need in order to focus on key factors that will help them make informed choices. The balance that the reader detects from the book's tone is fueled by open-minded prudence---despite pointing out errors and seminal discoveries of past researches, discussing new findings, mentioning cutting-edge research, and touching on radical discoveries and options, the book always returns to central themes: new studies shed new light, findings of past studies show more implications if scrutinized more, and the reader should always remember the possibility that "the answers have changed."

The book begins with explaining key concepts needed to understand menopause, then it dispels certain myths that have been held about the menopausal condition. It moves on to focus on key studies and treatments that have been crucial in shifting perspectives about menopause and opening up options for women today, and then it takes time to clarify definitions of current available treatments in order to minimize confusion surrounding them. All this information can be considered crucial preliminaries--Dr. Hess is arming his reader with the necessary background knowledge before he introduces them to the seven steps of what he believes is the Perfect Menopause.

As Dr. Hess armed his readers with key concepts and information about menopause in general, so he reassuringly begins his seven steps to the perfect menopause by arming women with the means to gather vital baseline information about their own particular menopause experience. By discussing the key events of a full ovarian cycle (its hormonal implications, salient features, and the unique implications of removing the uterus or ovaries), Dr. Hess gives women a very helpful backdrop that allows them to discover where they are in the cycle. His first step provides information that makes for an enlightening "you are here" map, to help women discern the stage they are in, the symptoms they are experiencing, and anything they feel that seem apart from the norm. Once armed with the knowledge of their individual menopause experience, Dr. Hess then guides women through choosing their treatment goals. In this second step, the discussion of the different kinds of treatments available allows women to either choose a treatment (one that will address several symptoms and alleviate most if not all of them, or one that the woman feels is the best match for what she knows of her overall needs to manage her menopause), or prioritize the symptoms they feel in order to determine which ones need to be addressed by treatment immediately. Again, Dr. Hess presents these options in a very open-minded manner.

Steps 3, 5, 6, and 7 deal with addressing major symptoms of menopause. I group them together not because these steps are similar--it is actually only step 3 that is called "Manage Major Symptoms": steps 5 to 7 tackle aging and dryness, sexual desire, and sleep respectively--but to show Dr. Hess's ability to convey comprehensive information in order to give readers a chance to make intelligent choices. Despite these being common to most women going through menopause, customizing how to address these symptoms to fit one's situation is possible. Dr. Hess tackles each in detail, sharing information, giving options, and for those completely at a loss, conveying recommendations that are worth trying to see if they work. I choose to highlight step 4 ("Get to Your Perfect Weight") last because the chapter's flow represents for me the commitment Dr. Hess gives to his readers through this book. After conveying information on how preventing weight gain is beneficial during menopause and discussing the various options for weight loss, Dr. Hess recommends an action plan in order to get to one's perfect weight--the plan he recommends is practical, requires commitment, and asks one to be responsible for one's goal as the plan is executed. Dr. Hess conveys himself to the reader in the same way: the help he extends is valuable and practical, with the reader receiving a windfall of solutions--IF they take ownership for seeing to their needs, and IF they commit themselves to executing their chosen plan or treatment.

I feel that through this book Dr. Hess achieved his hope of empowering women to make the choices that address their individual, unique needs for their menopause. He will cite preferred studies, treatments, or service providers, but he always stresses the need to choose the best option for oneself. He guides, he informs, and he weighs the pros and cons for his readers, but he always leaves it up to the person to customize the information to suit their needs and lifestyle. He clarifies what to look for, what is important, and what to be concerned with, and then points the reader to numerous resources that help them implement their chosen goals. My best wishes to Dr. Hess and all the readers who use this book to help themselves or their loved ones--it is a good guide, and at the end one feels in control and able to manage the changes happening.

I'm a simple woman, looking for simple ideas of how to get through peri-menopause and menopause without going crazy. This book is helping!

Navigating through the period of changing hormones is complex and often times frightening. I find this book comforting and especially appreciate the frank approach to using "natural therapies" to "manage major symptoms." For me, an estradiol patch and herbal supplements are working as I enter into year 5 of menopause.

BUT my favorite and the most inspirational section of this book by Dr. Hess is "get to your perfect weight." Working on that now by following the 7 steps as outlined in the book.

I'll survive menopause and be healthier than ever. Thank you Dr. Hess!

The Perfect Menopause is a must read book!

This is an important book for woman and men no matter what their age because there's not only a lack of information about menopause, even among physicians and other health care providers, but also there has been an astounding amount of mis-information recently which could result in serious consequences for those who are mislead by it. Dr. Henry M. Hess is a gynecologist, chemist, natural therapist and menopause expert who has spent the past 25 years traveling the world learning and teaching about all aspects of menopause therapies as well as helping patients in their search for relief from menopause's symptoms. (Apparently most medical schools and reputable OB/GYN residencies provide very little teaching and experience on menopause). I love the title and the tag line: "7 Steps to the best Time of Your Life." This is a promise on which the doctor delivers, spectacularly.

The book itself should be an inspiration to other authors. Written with Tiffany Farrell, a medical writer specializing in women's health, it is clear, concise, identifies and addresses reader concerns plus provides charts, questions, schedules and case studies that make the subject immediate and real. "Your menopause is not your mother's menopause," Dr. Hess writes, "or even your sisters. So much more is known today about all aspects of menopause than even just a few years ago..." My own wife went through menopause five years ago and I now feel I understand it in a way I wish I had back then. Some facts: "The average woman will spend one-third or more of her life in menopause," "Before 1900, most women did not live long enough to experience menopause," "Hot flashes and night sweats last for 4-5 years for most menopausal woman; for at least 10% of women, they will last for the rest of their lives" and, very significantly "The famous hormone study of 2002 showed that estrogen causes breast cancer, but recent analysis of this data and additional new studies, show that estrogen use may actually prevent breast cancer for many younger postmenopausal women in at least the first five years of use."

There are three categories of therapies for menopause: natural therapies, medicinal therapies and hormone therapies. This book addresses the pros and cons of each type. It answers big questions, such as, "What are the differences between natural, synthetic and compound hormones?" and equally important smaller ones, like: "Is a patch a better means of delivery than taking estrogen orally?"-- it is. We also learn that "natural" does not necessarily mean safer. Permarin is advertised as a natural hormone because it comes from an animal source (pregnant mares' urine) but that doesn't mean it's natural to humans. I really admire Dr. Hess's honesty. About proper eating habits: "Most of us really don't know the elements of a healthy diet, even though we think we do...and the medical profession's new understanding (of nutrition) has not been effectively translated into practice." And with regard to sex: "A stale emotional relationship and/or a stale sexual relationship is one of the most significant causes of female sexual dysfunction at any age!" Yes, there is an excellent section on male menopause too.

Like any map, there's more than one way to reach a goal. Dr Hess presents all of the possibilities in this single, easy to understand book. It is exactly what we need to know.

Weight gain, fatigue, mood swings, low libido- sound familiar? Finally- a "Perfect" plan to manage your menopause and it works!

I am fortunate enough to live in the Rochester area and Dr. Hess has taken me as a new patient. I read his book prior to my first visit and was informed enough to have an intelligent discussion regarding my issues. I am a 43 year old woman with weight gain, mood swings, mental fogginess, low libido and fatigue. I just didn't understand why I had changed so much in such a short period of time and knew I needed help. I was mis-diagnosed with anti-depressants which only added more weight, more mental fogginess and lack of energy.

Dr. Hess' book pointed to something I never considered - lack of testosterone. We did the blood work that no one else ever considered before and identified this is indeed the problem.

In his book, Dr. Hess helps you understand you need to address your menopause holistically - mind, body, spirit. I am exercising more and eating healthier. I am taking a small dose of testosterone. No more anti-depressant, no more fatigue and no more weight issues.

Dr. Hess does a great job as a myth buster regarding hormone therapy. You do not have to be afraid of hormones - you just have to be informed. It is time to start managing your menopause. Written in laymen's terms, this book is a must have and make sure you share it with your doctor!

I am so grateful to have found a way to help myself. Many thanks to Dr. Hess for focusing his career on menopausal issues - this could be a life changing experience for all women.

Finally the Truth! Great Book!

First off, let me say that the compassion and true caring for women and their experiences coping with Menopause shines forth from every page of this book with each word written by our author, Dr. Henry Hess. Now that in itself is a wonder, as I'm sure you feel as I do, that we at times are simply given a pat on the back, a patronizing smile, and sent on our way while we desperately search for answers during this time in our lives. Well, ladies, the search is over.

Inside the pages of this outstanding book, Dr. Hess unravels the many misconceptions about Menopause, the treatments available, and the myths that simply are not true. I was shocked that a man could understand the deep emotional and physical challenges women face during this time, and give such knowledge and insight. Amazing.

I'm telling you, you will close this book with a smile on your face and the complete satisfaction that finally you have found the answers you were looking for and the compassion you so desired. At the conclusion of the read you will finally feel as though you are armed with knowledge of what you are going through and where you will end up. This is a wonderful book, a must have for all women, one that could simply be life-changing. Thank you ,Dr. Hess for caring and sharing. I wish we all had a doctor like this in every town.

I just finished this book and it's wonderful---tender, compelling, sad and hopeful.... Judy MacLean's writing really drew me in and made me eager for more. The first part of the book felt ethereal like a fairytale... then it got sad and tragic... and the end is hopeful, strong. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a great novel to curl up to, get lost in, and emerge changed.

If you'd like to read a predictable cutesy romance, this is not the right book for you. I thought that it was a young adult book when I first started to read it, and I guess if this country was not retarded and hypocritical about young people and sexual identity, maybe it would be recommended reading in high schools. Romey is a lonely young woman coming out and Julie is the daughter of conservative Christians. They meet and the book is both a coming out story as well as the story of the unlikely romance between these two young women.
There is nothing formulaic about this novel, and it's not standard romance fare. It's full of plot surprises and has a remarkable ending you won't forget quickly. Ms. Maclean belongs to the handful of lesbian authors who have their own unique style and who can write as well as anyone in the mainstream - authors like Cameron Abbott, Jennifer Fulton, Marianne Martin and Emma Donohue, who all step outside the norms for the typical lesbian novel in their own different ways. I was really impressed with Rosemary and Juliet and if you enjoy reading books that are just a bit more challenging and thoughtful, try this one.

In the small California community of Divido, high school student Romey Arden is the only out lesbian teenage student. The day she came out-with the support of her ex-hippie, heterosexual, single parent mother-was the day a lot of the kids began shunning her. But not Elliot, the only other gay student. And not Amina, a straight girlfriend who sticks by her through thick and thin. Romey still feels isolated, particularly because there are no other lesbian kids to hang out with. Amina and Elliot are dear to her, but she wonders if she'll ever meet that special young woman.

Julie Wright is unknown to Romey. A gifted singer and student, Julie is home-schooled by her deeply devout Christian parents. When the book opens, Julie's dad, reverend of the Divido Bible Church, is at the local school board meeting damning homosexual teachers. Meanwhile, his only child is at home lying on her bed letting "moonshine in the window and along her body. She felt that liquid sensation, new to her these past months, blushing over her again. She had a private name for it: Yearning" (p. 23). Nearly age 15, she is "old enough to understand what her dad's sermons had to say about her own life. To Julie, the sermon said that this new Yearning was her own special blessing, chosen for her by Jesus. Its mystery would be revealed in time, or not. Either way, she would thank Jesus for the inner joy bestowed upon her, welcome Yearning, and protect it" (p. 26).

It is inevitable that Julie and Romey should meet, and despite their youth, they both feel the "Yearning." At first seeing one another requires only a little sneaking around, but soon they are facing major obstacles. It doesn't take long before Julie's parents do everything they can to keep the two apart. But the depth of feeling that develops between the two girls can't be denied. Their actions set off a string of unexpected events that shock everyone in town and cause change and disaster. And with so much against them, can the love of these young women survive?

MacLean uses beautiful language and a tight plot that moves along with all due speed toward the startling denouement. The novel's structure and prose are flawless. One of my favorite scenes contains this description: "Romey ran into the soft night. With every stride, she sensed the moment when both of her feet were off the ground, that moment she was airborne. It was a way to trick relentless old gravity, which, unlike a parent, never lets its attention wander for even half a second, but obsessively keeps you pinned down. Without engine or wings, for moment after moment, perhaps a fifth of every stride, a minute out of every five, twelve whole minute out of every running hour, she was flying. Gliding on air" (p. 64). The novel is packed full of fine writing. It's by turns serious and also funny in places. With a fine group of secondary characters, this book has it all: compelling plot, unpredictable storyline, and a knockout ending.

The mark of a truly fantastic story is that when you finish reading the book, off and on for days you remember the characters and explore alternatives for each person's future. When you are finished with this expert debut novel, you will find ROSEMARY AND JULIET has left an indelible mark in your memory. Don't miss this one. ~Lori L. A nostalgic, poignant, and engaging presentation packed with curious minutiae of detail, the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is highly recommended -- especially to those of us old enough to have memories of our own of the boardwalk's simple beginnings as a wooden bathhouse on the beach and its evolution and transformation into a contemporary City of Santa Cruze-based multi-million dollar business operation.

i loved this movie. its got almost every charcter except 4 maybe the newer onse but still fun 2 watch.
if u dont decide 2 buy it they play it on comedy central a couple times a month i think. but dont worry they air it un-edited and nothins blurred or cut out so buy it or watch it on tv but either way u wont be dissapointed.

should they make a sequal? im not sure they can out do it,but would be interesting still maybe its better they dont any wayz (just to be safe).

This movie is hilarious, and it really is hard to make someone laugh reading......it still hilarious. Trey Parker and Matt Stone are genius. This movie is just plain hilarious. This book is hilarious and a must get book for all you south parkatiers..Even if you dont play an instrument, it is still hilarious.. This book shows images of the movie. For the music stuff they show the notes tunes and the lyrics, McKay. The guitar tunes, which I play and now I can play the south park songs on my guitar. You cant too if you buy this hysterical music thingy......P.S. this book is cool to show off to people....viva la resistance!!!!!

Great if you need the music, but not necessarily the words..

This book is definitely a must-have if you require the notes to play the tunes. However, if you're only trying to figure out the lyrics, the best way to go about this is to play the "South Park: BLU DVD" with the English subtitles on (or captions on if you have it on VHS). Then you can sing along with the movie! Neat, huh? Unfortunately, there's no 'bouncing ball' to follow when the kids do break into song, but hey, you can't have everything!

When you just HAVE to know the words to Mountain Town

Let's face it, when you first heard the soundtrack or saw the movie, South Park: Bigger, Longer, & Uncut ... you HAD to know the words. So I sat and meticulously wrote out what I thought were the words. So my question to Trey Parker & Marc Shaiman is ... WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG?

This is a great book, especially for the musically inclined who may want to actually play the music to the best, most insane movie of all time. I don't play an instrument but I got hours of entertainment singing such classics as Uncle F*cka and It's Easy, Mkay!

And I'm thrilled to say I had the lyrics pretty much correct on all except the end of Mountain Town. But that's okay. I've got the words now. :)

This score is accurate and thorough in its likeliness to the actual movie, although don't expect the pieces to sound nearly as full as they do with the full orchestral accompaniment of the album. The piano part is thin, but it is more than enough to accompany any singer (or yourself, if you like to sing while you play.) My favorite piece is "La Resistance (Medley)", which pieces together a number of different tunes. For the guitarists out there, each piece contains printed chords and tablature. I love playing through the score and have had great fun with it! I recommend it to any South Park fan/musician, or even anyone who's been wanting to know the full lyrics (but don't waste the music - invite a musician over!)

I borrowed a copy of this from a friend and found it so interesting I had to order a copy for myself. Unfortunately, its out of print and I had to settle for a used copy. If you can find one, grab it! For photographers interested in the history of our art form, it will be inspiring.

This is an exhaustively researched and beautifully written book about a major force in American photography and American life. There have been many academic and art books devoted to the work of Edward Steichen, and he has written about himself on one or two occasions, but never had someone written the definitive biogaphy . . . until Penelope Niven decided to do so after "getting to know Steichen" during the years she spent researching and writing about his equally famous brother-in-law, Carl Sandburg.

Readers should not be put off by the book's density (it runs to almost 800 pages). Niven is exhaustive but not exhausting, and her narrative is easy to read, detailing the long and fascinating life of an extraordinary man. The biography is also extremely accurate. Future writers in years to come will look to this book for critical source material. The author is a born researcher.

The book is presently out-of-print, a lamentable situation given the recent Whitney Museum of American Art Steichen retrospective and a dazzling new book by Steichen's widow, Joanna Steichen. This biography, if it had been available, would have been a fine accompaniment to both, giving museumgoers and general readers the chance to learn more about this American artist, and providing a counterbalance to Joanna Steichen's more visual, personal, and introspective book.

In sum, this is the grand story of the life of an important American artist, written by a biographer not an art historian. As such, it will appeal to a wide range of readers. We look for a paperback edition of this book, and can only hope one will soon be available.

Surprisingly, this is the only biography I have found so far about Edward Steichen. Thank goodness it is an excellent one, combining extraordinary research with fine writing. For those interested in Edward Steichen's long and productive life as well as his work, this is a "must have" book, especially now that there is a retrospective exhibition of his work at the Whitney Museum in New York.

Well written, well researched and well documented.

Steichen was a genius, and never more so than when he influenced Alfred Steiglitz to show Picasso, Matisse, Rodin, Marin, etc for the first time ever in the United States. Steiglitz is given credit, sometimes wholly, but truly it wouldn't have happened without Steichen. I recommend this wonderful book!

Excellent Read!

This book may look formidable by its size, but what a wonderful world you will enter once you begin the story of this photographic genius and his place in time. Niven's work is carefully researched and Steichen's relationships with Steiglitz, Rodin and other artistic greats of the turn of the century are all detailed . She carefully documents his work at the Army and Navy, Vanity Fair, and MOMA. Of added interest is the story about his sister's marriage to Carl Sandburg and the close relationship Steichen and Sandburg devleoped. Enjoy!

This is a good book. The design is very approachable, and the writing is quite readable - especially in an age when people would *like* to explore telework, but don't quite know where to begin. From Telework 101 to senior-exec-level concepts, it explains much of what today's teleworker - and even the at-home entrepreneur - needs to launch a fully-functional home office, without losing touch or professional stature with the corporate community.

This book is a "must-read" for all potential, as well as current, teleworkers. It is packed full of tips and techniques for both the telecommuter and his/her employer. From setting up your home office to communicating with others, this book covers it all. I will keep this as a ready-reference. I recommend that all "driven knowledge workers" do the same.

Michael Dziak's book is very thorough, and is a comprehensive guide on telecommuting. The check lists, forms, and practical tips are very usefull. This book offers so much for anyone operating a home office, it is a good investment even if they don't telecommute. I agree with other reviewers this is the desk companion or bible for telecommuters. I highly recommend it.

Excellent advice for the telecommuter.

Telecommuting Success is a great tool for the telecommuter. It is very easy to read and understand and gives tips that will help ensure that if you become a telecommuter you will be allowed to stay one. It shows you how to be successful and get the recognition for your work that you deserve, even if you are out of the office a good portion of the time. This is key to a successful teleworking relationship.

I highly recommend this book for any business that has or is implementing a telework program and would make it required reading for all teleworkers in that program.

I recently reviewed a number of books on telecommuting and distance collaboration for a research center (...) and Dziak's book was the best I found on telecommuting.

While some other books dwell too much on details of home office setup (which this book does cover thoroughly in ch 4) Dziak is by far the most insightful about the real challenges of telecommuting, which are social issues of staying in touch. The book gives prescriptive advice in easily-digestable forms. Dziak is quite fond of top-10 lists, but manages to pack a lot of good content into this somewhat gimmicky format. My most-reference part of the book was his '10 Ways to stay on the corporate radar screen' (p. 181).

Fascinating read. I have felt unsafe on some rides in various parks across the country, but thought that I was just over-reacting. Now my feelings of fear are validated by Mr. Stoneking's book. I now think twice before spending big bucks to go on these dangerous rides.

Mr Stoneking has written a great book about a subject most us don't think about. When you visit a theme park you take for granted it will be safe and that your life is not in danger. His writing opens up your eyes to what is happening in the world of make believe and the realization that the rides are just machines. Going to a theme park shouldn't make you think about the safety, but Mr Stoneking makes you think about this controversial subject. This is his second book and look forward to his next book. He is an author who opens your eyes and make you think.

Some theme parks are much more than smiling children, cotton candy, and joyful cheers! Mr. Stoneking gives detailed behind-the-scene descriptions of what really goes on in America's amusement parks and reveals their darkest secrets. A must read before taking those you love to the place you used to love!

This is a Summer must read. It's the time of year where people are planning fabulous vacations and are ready to spend some quality time with their children. Theme Parks are a perfect way to spend that time, right? But beware! Danger clearly lurks at every corner and we as consumers are unaware. Mr. Stoneking has proven with his written word that we must look at our surroundings and be smart consumers.

3 O'Clock @ Hyde Park is one of the best novels I have read in a very long time. It is a book that grabs you, and then you are so engrossed you want to read it in one sitting. I was especially trilled that the book was a very clean romance. It was so refreshing to read a great love story without the extra information that so many authors seem to feel compelled to include. I will recommend it to all my friends and family.

It has been a long time since I have come across a clean, modern day, love story! This story will intrigue you. Barbara Theesfeld has skillfully woven these characters together and made them leap off of the page! This book will affirm you in your "real" beauty. I can't wait to get my hands on her next book!

It is not everyday that you can pick up a book and be engrossed from the first turn of the page!

I love that this novel, while being a modern day love story, is written so that regardless of a woman's age, 13yrs to 80yrs, it can be read, shared, and talked about! I also enjoyed that although it is a love story, the real focus of the book is based on inner beauty and life recovery.

I am looking foward to reading more works by Barbara Theesfield!

Barbara Theesfeld weaves together a womans greatest fear, worst nightmare and her deepest desire, all in one heartwarming novel. Once I started reading, I was mesmerized. It is so tastefully written, I'll be sharing it with the teenage girls in my life because it teaches that real beauty comes from within.

I now count Ms. Theesfeld among my favorite authors. I am anxiously awaiting her next novel!

This book is one of those "I just can't put it down" types. Once I picked it up, I just had to finish it. The characters are very believeable and true-to-life in so many ways. I was even able to share this book with my 13 year old daughter who also couldn't put it down. She even brought it with her to the restaurant for dinner one night! Thank-you to Barbara Theesfeld for a wonderful book! I look forward to seeing more!
