Excellent, easy to read book, with lots of stories and pictures. One minor thing that peeves me is occasional grammatical errors.

My version is a little older, but remains an excellent resource. There is loads of information about coverage of all kinds of events, from the uncomfortable tragedies to sports to developing story ideas for photo spreads. I don't know how much information the newer books have on digital imaging, but my version has very little. Not a problem, however, as the principals are the same. Like most other books, this alone will not teach you how to take great photographs. You can only learn that from experience. But this will help answer some of your questions if you are looking to develop a photographic style closer to journalism than fine art.

Excellent book! I put off buying it for over a year because I thought it was a bit pricey, but less than a month after reading it one of my photos made the front page of our local newspaper.

I read this book in one sitting back in 2000 when I was still a newspaper photographer wrestling with the choice of my chosen career path. This book details a couple who left steady jobs behind the follow their dream of opening a b&b. I furiously highlighted passages and scribbled notes in the margins as I read. The next day, I bought a binder and stayed up all night drafting sections a business proposal. It took a little while, but I was eventually able to leave a full-time job with benefits and job security and launch my own wedding photography business. The idea of creating your own career path and not just following one was definitely not on the best seller radar then like it is now. And that book is what I lead with when I talk to photographers now about following their heart. It changed my life. Seriously.

At last, a book that gives us permission to dream and a guide on how to bring those dreams to fruition. Only Paul and Sarah could have written such a book. So often others tell us to forget our dreams and merely live as the rest of the world. But in "The Practical Dreamers Handbook" we're told it's all right to have these dreams and to act on them. I've noticed a different writing style from Paul & Sarah..one of peace and tranquility. Thank you Paul and Sarah for this book.

The gurus of working from home have done it again-- managed to package a personal coaching experience into the pages of their latest work, The Practical Dreamer's Handbook. I wasn't looking for a book that would change my life, but I sure found it. With their usual practical hands-on approach to working through a problem, the authors have provided us with the means to evaluate our life, choose our dream, and find tangible ways to achieve our goals.

From visualization exercises to training us to set measurable goals that can be attained, Paul and Sarah Edwards provide us with the tools to finally live our dream. I started reading this book on a Friday afternoon, and by Sunday I had rewritten my business plan and set some personal goals with my spouse. I guess you could say it has changed my life, and I plan to practice these techniques for continued success and stress-free living. Many thanks to this talented pair who continue to share their secrets and talents with the rest of us.

This is not a get rich quick or what I would call a yuppie new age mode book. But rather a well thought out book that is laid out in Three Parts with sub sections that cover everything from DESIRE -Awakening the Dream which then discusses Imagining, believing and being committed to creating what one seeks. To ACTION-Building a New Reality, which discusses following a plan or thread, finding the money, making the time, and having the needed energy. Part three is SATISFACTION-Enjoying Yourself, and is about feeling fulfilled and appreciating the ongoing process that never ends, but is always evolving.

The Parts on finding the time and money to go after ones goals were excellent if for no other reason than for the common sense shared. Challenging people to be quiet and be honest and look at how much time we waste doing nonsensical things, and spending money we should be saving for the goal. And the authors were smart to tell the reader to even downsize, and move to a smaller less expensive home or area if this will provide the extra income one needs to create the extra income one needs to have ones goals. That even cutting back on lunch everyday and taking a bag lunch or going for a walk will save a good 25-50 dollars a week that can be stuck away in a goal savings account.

They also are great at making the reader think about what do we REALLY want and WHY? Are we honest enough to realize that it could take 3-5 years before we see a payoff? Are we willing to put in the needed elbow grease to get the goal?

But most important to me was reading and being constantly encouraged to NOT give up. So many people grew up in homes where lofty goals were either not encouraged or sadly laughed at. The authors tell the reader that the world is full of naysayers and people who will laugh at dreamers. Yet ever notice how the nerd in school that everyone laughed at, becomes famous and has more friends from high school that were in the whole school in ten years?

Good book. Read it!

A practical guide written in a manner that touches the senses. If you are at a crossroads in your life, this book will help you get in touch with your true self and make a life-changing decision with confidence. As Sarah so aptly said, it's about "....seizing on fortuitous serendipity." If you are yearning for a change in your life, you will find it hard to put this book down.

One of the more complete and clear general review about probability theory (hey, it's a graduate!)

"Probability" is book number 95 in the GTM series. If you really read this book carefully, you will probably learn something (I think that Shiryayev proves this somewhere in the second chapter). This is probably one of the better books in the GTM series. You can purchase this text for a moderate price. You could, however, take advantage of the probable distribution of this text throughout your university libraries. I'm not saying that it's going to be there...I'm just saying that there's a chance.

I write this to pay my highest respects for this guru mathematician's work. This is truly a great book, not only for graduate students but also undergraduate and researchers. The book covers 8 chapters, starting with classic approach, so that one can see the evolution of the theory of probability, and one could avoid the risk of being lost in this forest.

It has a particularly useful Chapter 2, which provides the readers with necessary mathematical foundation for them to go on. Of course, the theory itself is challenging and we will/should never expect an easy-to-read mathematics book. The transformation from classical approach to the modern one is exhibited clearly by this great Russian mathematician. You will find almost everything in here, even some critical part that touches on stochastic differential equations, that are very useful for applied fields of sciences such as mathematical finance.

Index of keywords is also very useful and in details. We should also notice that the book is not too thick compared to other multi-volume textbooks. This is a real advantage if you have to carry it along while working or when reading for leisure.

However, be careful with some examples and solutions. I found at least one problem in which Prof. Shiryaev provided wrong solution, e.g. problem on girl vs boy child on page 25 of 2nd Edition. The final result is correct, but the evolution shows a wrong method.

Despite this minor thing, a matter of Buyer Beware, I find it a really great book that has accompanied me for over 7 years now. It is worth every penny. Thus do not waste your money on others before trying this. You will agree with me at the end. The book is a piece of art!

Almost everything has been said already by other reviewers, I am just going to confirm it really is that good. Starts from the very basics, builds theory up to startionary random processes, L2 theory, and some basic ergodic theorems, and gets you ready to learn the theory of random processes (which is not what this textbook is about). You'll have to find some other book as your "Part 2", I don't have any recommendations off-hand. However, for basic probability, in a rigorous setting, this is the book. He explains everything, and doesn't skip too many details, which is sweet. Proofs are easy to follow. However, I have found a few nasty typos which may have you bang your head against the wall. But you'll find them if you read carefully. Hopefully they will be corrected in subsequent printings. This shouldn't deter you. It really is an amazing book, in the russian tradition. See also Ya. Sinai's minibook on probability theory, many theorems are proved without the use of measure theory, so you can compare the proofs and get better insight into the machinery of those theorems.

It covers almost all of the "basic" ideas in probability.

This book is one of the most helpful book for me. You will "learn" what is going on in the field of probability theory. The book is especially suitable for self studying. If you want to learn probability theory, buy this book, dig into it, study again and again if you don't understand a particular part. But the book does its best in terms of clarity of exposition, so you can understand with a careful reading.

It will provide a strong tool and you can use this tool efficiently in your professional career. But there is a caveat. You might end up with a tool that you will never use again. The book is suitable for professionals and deep minds.

As a white middle class generation x'er, I knew nothing of the Black Panthers or Huey Newton that was based on personal knowledge or experience. What I had heard was that they were radical, dangerous, and hated white folks. That seemed overly simplistic, so I decided to look into the black power movement for myself. Of all the books I read on the movement (Malcolm, Eldridge Cleaver, SNCC, Soledad Brother, etc...), Revolutionary Suicide was the best.

First off, Huey is the best writer of all the writers I read on the subject. That includes both the primary books and the secondary interpretive books written by historians. Huey's writing reflects his life philosophy, he lives for the people and therefore writes for the people. He doesn't seek to impress the reader with a fantastic grasp of the english language. He writes simply and matter-of-factly, much as a good journalist does. This to-the-point writing style more engrossing than any of the other books I read on the movement.

Second, Huey, unlike many other movement leaders, doesn't look to hog the glory for himself. He is very upfront about what he was responsible for and what he collaberated on with others. He passes the glory around liberally (some would say too much) to spread the power to the people.

Finally, this book will give you a primary understanding of who Huey P. Newton was and what he was really about. Did he hate white people? Did he advocate armed revolution? Was he a murderer and thug? Read it for yourself.

If you want to attempt to get into the mind of Huey Newton, then read this book. Reading his autobiography gave me a view of the Party I have never felt. This gave me an understanding of how and why the organization was started and also some insight on the life of Huey. You will defintely have a different view of the Party once you have read this. So read, read, read, and keep reading, and educate yourself about this incredible man and organization.

This book is one of the first and only unaltered accounts of the Black Panther Party by somebody who was in it. The book is in Huey's compassionate voice. This book dispells rumors about the BPP Huey set the record straight. This is my favorite book of all time its a book for the ages.

What can I say, that hasn't already been said? Huey P. Newton was a very complex individual, and I find myself reading a section over a second time to digest what was written. It's worth it no doubt. When you start to read this book, you will not be disappointed, Newton sheds light on even personal matters like falling in love, and views on family. This is great if you want specifics on Mr. Newton himself, and not just the BPP as a whole.

If you're going to study the Black Panther Party, you of course must check out a story of its preminent leader. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. He gave me an understanding what it meant to be a radical Black activist during the 60s and 70s. It meant that you had to be courageous, committed, and five steps ahead of the cops, the FBI, and informants.

Of course, now, this is Huey's account of the Party. While his is seriously important, the works of other Panthers and scholars who are now publishing works about the Panthers must also be studied. For now that I'm reading a biography on another Panther leader, Geronimo Pratt, I'm very interested in understanding more about the political split that took place in the BPP. Why did Huey expell Pratt from the Party? Why did Eldridge Cleaver turn out to be so reactionary? I look forward to reading other books on the Panthers to answer these and other questions.

I GOT this book for my class and i loved! I'm very connected with her and most of the things she said in the book. i field vry connected with many places and situations that she was. I really love and admire the way you describe the places, you have shust of talent describing that is very easy to get touch by anything that you say.

P.M. Woods has written a heart tugging novel that I enjoyed as a reader and I think that other readers will enjoy it also. Ms. Woods uses a different type of style by telling Nora's story in fragments. We take the journey with Nora as she moves from the sunny state of California to the not so warm upstate New York. I was fascinated by Nora's love affair with Will. Ms. Woods' novel made me aware of nature and she always painted a perfect portrait of landscapes throughout the entire book.

Throughout most of the story, Will is intertwined in Nora's life. The memory of this man shows through profoundly as dialogue and a long-distance affair are recollected in precise detail. Besides the human interactions, landscapes and surroundings come to us in great detail, showing that the places Nora has been remain integral to her being. Her memory brings forth each setting in just enough detail as to draw you into a balance between people and place. Because of the inherent importance of the distance between Will and Nora and what this dose to their relationship, the long journeys Will takes to actually see Nora become mystified as broken phone calls inform not only us, but Nora, of the patchwork picture of where Will is. These calls ground us into the reality of life and how unpredictable it can be. Helping this notion along is the seemingly random times at which Will calls Nora for midnight rendezvous. They cannot reveal what they are doing or have done, but even so, danger is never sensed -- only Will's hasty exits cue us in on the rush that is involved with their affair.
I believe what P.M. Woods has done with Ian is created the counterpart to Will's personality. here we see an immature, unwed, egotistic, self-centered boy. His energies are directed toward hatred of women, and at some points of the story, such as the oven cleaning section -- where Nora is brutally attacked while cleaning said oven -- I get the impression that this is actually Ian, although it is never said outright. Will acknowledges that Ian as a "pushy" personality, which constantly pokes and prods at your worst aspects, and it lays a foundation, for me, into understanding a woman's point of view into why the remain in such relationships. Nora verbalizes this want to hold on, that he might change, but he doesn't. With one last trivial act, Nora finally decides to end it, but this is only revealed to us late in the book.
The issue of cheating on your spouse is integral to most of what takes place in the book, and it makes me question if their affair is really something bad at all. Here we have Will, whose wife wants to leave him. And here we have Nora, who is told first hand of this. The only person out of the loop is Will, who is then doing wrong. Although we don't know if Will is aware of his wife's detraction, regardless, he continues to maintain a relationship with Nora, however scattered and distant it may be. The whole situation begs to tell me a bit about women and their motives. I don't wish to label all women in such a way, because certainly one's experience does not dictate another's, but it seems clear that they, or more specifically, Nora, is easily lead, succumbing to feeling. Will plays this smoothly, always fun to be around, and having somewhere else to be. His laidback reserve seems easy to rest on, and many times in the story, we see Nora attempting to match his pace. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the scene where Nora is trying to match her heartbeat to Will's as she laid her head on his chest.
I found "Cliff Hanging" (p140) an interesting section. It provides for vivid imagery and a deep metaphor for Will and Nora's relationship. On one hand, she likes being with Will. In another, she wants to be with Will, but that cannot be. It appears as though Will is a support for Nora, but also a burden that rights itself automatically -- a teasing that only gets worse, and more severe during the times they are apart.
Looking at the story as a whole, I found the fragmented layout a welcome change to the ordered progression of novels written in chapters. Each part of the story comes later or earlier, which helps to hold our attention on how the importance of a section comes into play in an earlier or later part. The book privdes for a leisurely ride through the expanses of scenic landscapes and the journeys of an affair that ultimately will lead to nowhere but self reflection. It's hard to say that I'd known about this book outside of the class where I was introduced to it, but I'm glad I did. It's a dose of disorder that makes me wonder just what else is possible in story structures, and the methods of delivery a story can be presented in.

P.M. Woods, crafts an interesting tale, a weaving of poetic tapestry. It's a fragile love story that transcends a journey of self discovery and remembering moments from a particular time. You will be able to identify with the every day characters. Once you pick up this book you will be drawn in to the very end.

This is a complicated story that is excellently crafted. The main characters are running away and so go west with the conflicting desires to disappear and to connect. There is the "hunted" feel of the great westerns which works well as it seems everyone is trying to escape circumstances and/or consequences. There are two unique literary devices that took some getting use to. One that involves movies on drive in theatre screens illuminating the plot and the second; well you'll have to read the book to see if it works for you. In this age where we struggle to find meaning in the scrap piles of our own making, this novel captures a yearning, a working it out while viewing in full the paths ahead. The sheriff is coming for ya, it's just that he's not over the next hill, he's watching from the unconscious. Let's hope that Ron MacLean has another book coming soon!

I would love to see this book updated and organized with color coded tabs for easy reference. It had a lot of good tools and ideas, for both parents and teachers. We pass this along to our teacher every year.

As a parent of children with TS, I obtained this book for teachers to have a better understanding of techniques in the classroom. Consistently, I came across teachers who would apply the techniques uniformly and dismiss the "it depends" approach which is critical in dealing with TS... from the standpoint that the condition is ever changing in an individual, and it is different from one person to the next. (Too many teachers would say, "Oh I've had a TS child before"... I have *two* as well, and they and the *effective* approaches in teaching them couldn't be more different from one another.)

For example: putting a child near the front of the room for attention issues and to help them keep on track... may be devastating for a child who does not want their tics on display, and of course not necessary for the child who tics but who does not have attention issues.

Seating arrangements need to be assessed INDIVIDUALLY for every child; and for those with TS, it needs to be assessed more than once... the condition is dynamic, not static, (it waxes and wanes), the techniques need to be dynamic too. Too often I see the techniques gleaned from the book used statically and never re-visited throughout the academic year as to wether they are working, and/or if they are needed at any given moment.

The book doesn't necessarily indicate static approaches, it just seems to me that once the book is read, (or skimmed is more likely what I found to be the case by our educators), that the educators we've dealt with will focus on one erroneous technique that may have nothing to do with our child's current needs or situation, and claim that they are modifying their techniques for our child with TS, with no consideration as to the effectiveness. Or worse, (from our child's standpoint), they will read about *behavior* approaches when in fact our child has no associated behavior issues, (the book tends to lump different but sometimes associated conditions like ADHD, OCD, Anxiety, Mood disorders - and offer techniques without clearly delineating if the symptoms are TS or from other conditions), and the resulting assumptions as to the root cause of any given *in-classroom* behavior can have a devastating impact on a child with TS, especially if *intention* is thought to be behind *disruptive* behavior.

Don't use this book unless you plan to delve deeper into your student with TS, and their exact manifestation of symptoms, and their pattern of symptoms and then be prepared to re-visit the THEN resulting specific application of techniques, on a continual basis, other wise you can do more damage than good by ASSUMING that you are applying techniques covered in the book, when in fact you may not be addressing the specific situation your student finds themselves in, in any given week, in any given hour.

The plan needs to be flexible, use the book ala carte or for brain storming solutions... don't apply it like a recipe, your ingredients will always be different with a TS student.

I have a now 17 year old daughter who began really struggling in school at age 10, 5th grade. We had her evaluated by the school and they determined that because her IQ was high, she was not eligible for special services, despite the fact that she was failing almost every subject and had trouble socially. I took her to our own child neuro-psychiatrist and, after a lengthy interview and eval, she was diagnosed with tourette syndrome. Further it was determined that she was manifesting her TS with many symptoms of ADHD and OCD...something the school district refused to take into consideration.

I stumbled upon this book at our local book store and literally sat in the aisle just soaking up the most accurate description of my daughter that anyone had ever been able to give me - and it was a BOOK! It was as if I could have written the list of symptoms and the various methods they offered that work (most of the time). I immediately paid the $35 for this book without reservation and read it from cover to cover, several times. There are about 10 pages in the back of the book with many many other resources for parents, DR's and educators.

The thing about any brain disorder is that they vary in degree and there are very few who have an exact definition or symptomology...iow, no two are ever truly alike. It is VERY common for kids with TS to have crossover symptoms of ADHD and OCD and vice versa. This book addresses those symptoms. This book also talks a lot about the common 'rage attacks' that many of these kids experience and how it's such a normal reaction to what they are going through...it really helps the parents to put their child's behavior into perspective and rather than parent from a purely punitive standpoint, the parent can custom fit their parenting styles to suit that child. This book shows you how to do that. It offers tips and resources to help teachers deal with these types of kids in a way that is not humiliating and embarrassing to the child or his classmates. This book helped me to 'read' my daughter and learn how to diffuse a rage attack before it happened - any idea how incredible that is??

Most teachers have been trained to teach one way. They have a population of about 24-30+ students in their class and they have to figure out a way to teach them all so they teach to the majority. Who does that leave out? The bright shiny star students and those who need a helping hand or those who need just a little encouragement and a few secret code words to get through a lesson plan. The majority of teachers do not have the time or the wherewithall to accomplish the goal of moving from one lesson plan to the next with ease when she has even ONE special needs kid in her class. Someone loses and most often, it is the student who needs the help the most. Sure, the schools provide paras, but only in the classrooms that have a named special education student in them. If you have a kid who has TS and isn't designated Spec Ed, then his/her class will not have a para in it.

That's another reason this book is so valuable to ALL teachers. Each of our children learn in their own way...there is a way to teach them and teach them well. This book should be mandatory reading for all prospective teachers. Every teacher should have this book in her library!! I made 3 copies for my district, one for the elementary level, one for junior high, and one for the high school level. I don't think one person ever cracked it open; if my daughters experiences at our local public school are any indication. We transferred out to a charter school in 9th grade. She did very well there. The entire staff was very up on their special needs kiddos and my daughter benefitted from their style of teaching and their empathy - something that is sorely lacking in our public schools in my opinion. Buy this book!

I am 19 and when I was in elementary school tourette's was still looked upon by many proffessionals and most authority as something that "didnt exist"or the parents fault. My [...] teacher mrs. streneva used to poke me so hard in the chest when i disbehaved that i recieved many bruises on my chest. the doctors said i would never make it through public school. My mom paid 40 some dollars for this book back then, and we didnt have alot of money, and it cost a fortune, and this book was my moms treasure and she never ever let me hold it and never ever let any of the teachers borrow it, instead, she made then copied pages & such, and then the teachers would request more information on a topic and my mom would copy it from this book. this book educated alot of authority and all the teachers at Pleasant Elementary in Warren, Pennsylvania. This is a big miracle, I have a huge thanks for the writers who did this. This book is a 100% MUST HAVE for ANYONE with ANY amount of children with tourettes syndrome, ADHD, Depression, bi poklar, or any such. It is a strictly MUST HAVE. I reccomend this with everything in my heart and for helping me get through elementary school. As for for making it through public school? I am now a freshman at edinboro university of pennsylvania and even though my grades arent very good, I have made it this far, and I can do things with my life that doctors never thought would be possible. I am almost tic free, thanks to my medications. And it all started with this book.

I love this book, which I have found invaluable in educating my son's teachers about the disorder. It is basically a compilation of information that any well read TS parent has probably found in 20 different locations, but for the novice looking for a thorough overview in one book, "Teaching The Tiger" goes a LONG way toward increasing their TS education. It gives practical advise re behavioral interventions that work, and more importantly those that DON'T.

I find teachers are more receptive to this book because it is written specifically for teachers (rather than taking advise/instuction from a parent). I've found it to be quite credible and informative to them. I believe the answer to stigma, ignorance, and misinformation (ex: the 20/20-60 Minutes/media representation of TS), is education. This book provides it, specifically aimed at giving teachers tips on dealing with TS in the CLASSROOM environment. My son's teachers have been really grateful for these TS-specific insights.

If you can afford the $35 for this book, DO! It is a worthwhile investment into making your child's educational road a smoother one. In the meantime, you may be able to do what I did. I borrowed a copy from the library and made photo copies of the most relevant chapters for each teacher/aide involved with my son. I also either showed them the book itself or made a photocopy of the cover, in case they wanted to purchase/borrow the entire book themselves. If you have a good relationship with the principal or school librarian, suggesting that the school purchase a copy for the staff library is also practical.

Those are my two cents, on "Teaching The Tiger". "Taming the Tiger" came first and provides a similar compilation of info for parents and others learning about TS. I hope you'll check out these books for yourself.

"There is No Box" takes the reader through the entire sales process in step by step order. One would have to read and study multiple Sales and Motivational books to get what is contained in "There is No Box." This book is great for both new and experienced sellers. I carry "There is No Box" in my bag with me everyday for easy and quick reference.

My dad purchased There Is No Box for me and it helped me with my buisness class. I suggested this book to my friends and they LOVED it! I'm looking foward to getting and reading the updated version.

THERE IS NO BOX should be required reading for all college freshman. It is more than a sales and marketing text.

THERE IS NO BOX is a must read for minds that strive for ongoing personal growth.Optimism and mental toughness are overriding themes in the book which translates into long-term self improvement.

I found "There Is No Box" by accident while surfing for new management books on sales and marketing. (I didn't expect a book on sales to be titled; "There Is No Box".) But it was the title that actually got me interested. I have had excellent success for years in sales and marketing. Now as a manager, I wanted a reference book, a quick read reminder to keep me and my sales department fresh without long examples or boring material. This book did just that. Each subject is concise and easy enough to bring into a sales meeting and talk about for a few minutes. The techniques are proven and the author doesn't impose his way, but instead credits others that along the way have contributed successful selling ideas. I strongly recommend this book for those who want a reference to keep in their briefcase of on their desktop. If you're new to selling, this book will give you an excellent start by developing your personal skills as it leads you through the selling process. I also agree with another reviewer that this is excellent for students.

I have read a lot of sales books and have attended more than my share of sales seminars. Seldom is the content clearly written by sales managers, for sales people. In THERE IS NO BOX, the information is of "how to" rather than "one should" of real examples rather that philosophies about what should work and answers a lot of tough questions where others have failed to go.

Just when you think it couldn't get any better than Body Bags, this second book in the BOE series keeps fans on the edge of their seats. Jenna's adventures in Thief of Hearts is one that will keep her scarred for a long time, but she uses this experience to fuel her and the other obstacles and puzzles that she faces. A must read!!!

This was an amazing book. I stumbled apon Body Bags at my local B&N and thought, "Well, this is O.K., not excellent but o.k." and I thought nothing of it and thin a few days ago I found this book and LOVED it. it was entertaining all the way through! Not a single spot of bordom.

If you liked this book and you want to try another good murder mystery, I would recommend The Kindaichi Case Files: The Opera House Murders.

After reading Body Bags, I went straight to the store and purchased this one and finished it the same day. This book was well done by Christopher Golden, with exceptional character developement in Jenna, Hunter, and Pierce. This is a must-read for anyone who enjoys mystery, horror, or suspense and who also has a cast-iron stomach . . . these books tend to be a little disturbing. Even so, Golden is a wonderful author and I can't wait to read Soul Survivor.

After Jenna Blake's very eventful first week at Somerset University in Masachusetts (BODY BAGS) which included politically motivated killings and attempts on her life, it would be hard to believe that college could get even more complicated. But in THIEF OF HEARTS, it does just that, and in true style!

Jenna's been at college for a month now, getting into the rythm of classes, friendship (with her roommate Yoshiko, best friend Melody, and Melody's brother Hunter), and a renewed relationship with her father, Professor Logan, who teaches at the school. Now, her half-brother, Pierce, has shown up to spend his thirty-day leave from the Marine Corps with their father, and Jenna is thrilled. She hasn't seen her much older brother in years, and she's looking forward to renewing their relationship.

There's a problem though--more murders start happening on and around campus, just about the time Pierce shows up in Somerset. And Jenna's doubly dismayed when she assists in the first autopsy as part of her job with the Medical Examiner's office, and realizes that these murders are particularly grisly. Whoever is killing men and women around Somerset isn't just murdering them, but taking their hearts.

As the suspense builds--Pierce becomes a suspect of local detectives Audrey Gaines and Danny Mariano; Jenna and her friends just might be in danger--the book picks up speed. I read THIEF OF HEARTS in one sitting, much the same way I did with the first book in the series, Body Bags: A Body of Evidence Thriller #1).

This is a great series for readers of all ages who are interested in forensic work. Highly recommended, and I can't wait to get started on the next book in the series.

Christopher Golden threw me for a loop with this story, with the death of a major character. It definitely added to the sense of urgency in finding the killer, but I admit I was shocked! Just don't be surprised if you find yourself caught up in the shock, sadness, and sense of desperation that this story brings!

When Somerset University freshman, and pathology assistant, Jenna Blake, faces a new murder mystery plaguing the student population of Somerset, she realizes just how close she's being brought to the haunting crimes. Everyone has strange, yet possible theories involving the crimes, including Jenna's half-brother, Pierce Logan, the new guy in town. Meanwhile, Jenna begins having feelings towards an older man, which are abruptly interrupted, when the Thief of Hearts begins hunting on Somerset's campus, and someone very close to Jenna is his prey.

I was skeptical about THIEF OF HEARTS, as I thought that it could never outdo the previous book in the series, BODY BAGS. I was completely wrong. THIEF OF HEARTS is a fantastic, hold onto your seat, thrill ride, that brings you up close and personal with grizzly murders, and the procedures the officials use to solve the case, both in the medical examiner's office, and the police department. Fans of BODY BAGS will find that THIEF OF HEARTS, while being a sequel, is both terrifying and engrossing, and will find it hard to put it down until the very last page is turned. A must-have for everyone, except the faint of heart.

The title of this book, "This Splendid World of Yours" captivates the essence of it. I have learned to appreciate the splendor in my world. Some time ago, I yearned for something in my soul. This is my answer to this search. It started with regular attendance at the meditation classes which Ram facilitates at the Victoria School Center. The book sums up clearly the teachings and the meditation techniques. The connection with my Inner Spirit is like having a best friend. The connection manifests itself for me through feeling much more freedom. This, I believe results mostly from having more self-awareness. I can now regularly slip into the "Witness" mode and observe what is happening without getting too cought up in it. Thank you for this , loving guidance.

This is one of the books that has impressed me and Iam keeping it as my guide for self empowerement and also my journey within me. I have dabbed with lot of books on meditation, Ram has just got everything in one goblet & all we need now it drink this nectar and start our journey. His style of writing is very distinct, not much of the high sounding words, but very practical and easy to understand terms and given step by step guidance. Best thing about this book is that it appeals to every one, newcomer to spirituality, & also who has been in the arena trying to absorb all essence. Everything he says as a rationale, not just mere thoughts. Definitely if i can adhere to his teachings i will be find the bliss which all souls are looking for. I must thank Ram for sharing his wealth with us. Iam looking forward for his second book which will be my second step

Brendan tells his story & is very inspirational. He offers ideas and recipes. A good book to give to any one into sports. If Tiger Woods read this he'd win even more!

Supplements are just that, the true benefit comes from whole fruits and vegetables. I've been a lacto-ovo vegan for about 18 months and still going strong. My biggest challenge was the proper intake of protein. After reading Brendan's book I'm closer to an inner and outer nutritional balance than ever.

First, let me comment on all the criticism that the author is selling his own product (Vega)... how can you complain when he gives you the recipe to make it?? The recipe "Nutrient-rich shake" is on page 87. You don't have to buy his product, you can make it yourself. Personally I did this for a while and found it too time-consuming (just as the author says). I ended up ordering his product, but have no regrets. I really like Vega and will continue to purchase it - it's expensive, but you can tell when you use it what high quality it is.

Now about the book... For such a short book, it's PACKED with information! This book deserves a lot of credit for providing such a complete picture of stress - what it is, where it comes from, how it affects your body, and how to deal with it. Stress is stress, regardless of the source. Although this book is mainly concerned with stress from physical exertion, the information will help with whatever kind of stress you have.

The recipe section in this book, though short, is excellent. Several of these recipes have become regulars in my diet and are committed to memory. One unique thing about the recipes is they show which nutrients each ingredient is adding. For example, a banana adds electrolytes, a half tbsp hemp oil adds Essential Fatty Acids, pumpkin seeds add iron and zinc, and so on. I really enjoy this feature; it helps me better understand the nutrition (rather than just following a recipe). It's probably my favorite part of the book, next to the information on stress.

I've read at least a dozen different raw food health books and they all have their merits, but I have to say that this book is unique. I am so glad to have it in my collection. I'm giving copies to some of my health-conscious friends for Christmas this year.
