Owen Books

A friend purchased this book for me one Christmas. As a facilities consultant with several projects a year relocating commercial organisations, it's probably the most useful book I've had the pleasure to use - the forms are comprehensive and can be adapted for specific requirements. A worthwhile buy for anyone in this field.

Abel Jones, a Welshman, former British solider, having served in India, and now a member of the Union Army, an administrator, is requested to investigate the circumstances surrounding the murder of a Union officer from a renowned Philidelpia family. The murdered solider is an abolutionnist, and he is part of a group of wealthy, priviledge group of Union officers.

The story is told in the first person, Able Jones voice is most captivating, he views the aspiring and struggling United States, the Civil War, and the causes of the war from the eyes of a British soldier and Welsh countryman.

His voice is one of insight, humility, and determination. Owen Parry has become one of my favorite writers.

In my church-based pre-school, God's Little Critters, we've found this book indispensable. I've known Roberta Owens for many years, and can vouch for the care and thoughtfulness that she's poured into every chapter. She's drawn from a number of well-respected pre-school educators (including Dr. Stanley Turk and the Reverend Steve Paull) in her effort to assemble a wide range of talents and expertise. The chapter refuting the long-held educational strategies of Professor Michael Dyas is worth the price of the book. Nice job, Roberta!!

I loved this book! this book is took me over a month to read. and man it really made me think.... my spirit and my flesh was moved! There was days it was hard to read this book because i felt so convicted. and there was days i couldnt wait to get to the next chapter because it was to good.
i plan on buying another book by this author,

What can you say about a book that you daughter carries around all the time? A book that she writes reports from about animals just for the fun of it? A book that her 3rd grade and 2nd grade teachers fight over?? I wish I could find more!!

A great book for young children! Beautiful illustrations! Teach children their colors and have a great time with farmer dillo as he paints his barn

I found this book the best source of information. It covers all the products,trends, uses of products and solutions and even describes where the influences of each period come from. It does not have a 'how-to recreate...' section or photographs, but this is not what u want anyway. It helped me in every way when I had to research a period for a job or my assessments. I think it is a must have for every person involved with make-up, beauty etc.

An excellant book to help middle school students to appreciate and understand why they need to have such a broad education for the different careers they may choose in the future!

A Feast of Families is not a self-help book of platitudes and simplistic advice. Instead, author Virginia Stem Owens treats the reader to a rich banquet meal of cultural history, personal family anecdotes, and biblical commentary. This insightful book caused me to think about our modern concept of "family" and to reflect on what is enduring in that concept, what is evolving, and what this change may mean for us.

This book is a wonder not only because of its subject matter but also because Owen's writing is filled with rich detail and honest emotion. Owens once again proves that that which is most specific is also most universal. What a wonderful book!
