I've enjoyed every work that Zig has done, and he's had a significant, positive impact on my family for 3 generations. Buy this book and your life will be enriched, and then buy another another Ziglar book, and then another...you'll be glad you did!

Outstanding Bible. Loaded with information to help people in various crisis situations. Very importantly, this Bible provides lots of scripture so that people in these situations can turn to several places in the Bible and see how God delivered those in similar situations. This Bible is also great for pastors, lay counselors, and others who desire to help people build a spiritual foundation as they address their life issues.

Finally a Counseling Bible

This Bible is a great asset to anyone in a counseling ministry. Articles about specific counseling issues such as raising children, divorce recovery, sexual abuse, guilt, eating disorders, and many more are included in the text. Even more numerous are the "soul notes" interspersed throughout the text. These notes explain how certain verses pertain to the counseling topics. Another outstanding feature of the Bible is the extensive index which enables the reader to locate the articles, soul notes and verses about a given topic. Definitely a wonderful version of the Bible.

Excellent thought provoking novel.

Review Date: 2002-02-10
I thoroughly enjoyed this very plausible account of 'end-time' events.

It is written as a sequel to the author's previous novel entitled 'By Dawn's Early Light', which deals with the prophesied invasion of Israel as depicted in the Book of Ezekiel.

'Spear Of Tyranny' takes in world events after the thwarting of this invasion and the rise of the Anti-Christ in the guise of Adrian Romulus, who forms a 'one-world government' and requires that everyone takes a 'mark' in their right hand or forehead, without which no-one can buy or sell;- The Biblical 'mark of the beast'.

The story revolves around this and other events in the Biblical 'Great Tribulation' leading up to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

Very easy to read and will hold your attention from beginning to end.

I received this book as a gift when my daughter was born without the ability to swallow and everything that went into her mouth drained into her lungs. This book really helped me overcome alot personally with being a mother of a special needs child. You always dream as a little girl your babies are going to be "normal"--But Maddison was the Special gift and just what I needed in my life and so was this book. Realizing that God gives these special children to special parents/people really helped change my attitude

If you are a parent struggling with your special children this book is for you. It gave me so many heart warming stories to remember and share. I also know that Carrie, the author, goes and visits families all over the US that are struggling. I have been priveleged enough to have her come and visit me and my son, who has a cleft lip and palate.

This book brought me through a very difficult time. My youngest daughter was born with a cleft palate and club feet, and it threw me into post-partum depression. I am a Christian believer and I trusted in God's Word and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit to help me through...and the book was definitely a gift from Him! It is very encouraging, yet deals with reality. The author truly understands the gamut of emotions that parents go through when facing the challenge of raising a child with special needs. I would highly recommend this book to ANY parent though, because it will help you to see your child through God's eyes.

I just finished reading A SPECIAL GIFT by Carrie T. Gruman Trinkner, a book that addresses the parents and relatives of special needs children. This is not the sort of book that I would choose to read, but it came highly recommended, so I took a shot. I'm so glad I took that shot because A SPECIAL GIFT turned out to be a great deal more than a devotional for parents and relatives of children with unique challenges--it speaks to every individual about life and how we choose to get the most out of living. I came away feeling spiritually nourished, having been given important lessons about so many of the psychological aspects we must confront in life. Written in an uplifting and inspirational style, this book has general appeal for anyone seeking happiness. It would make a VERY special gift.

I gave this book to my sister for her college graduation last year because she is so special to me, and this book puts those feelings into words. It's written about a set of twin sisters, but any sisters can appreciate it...it's about the sweetest book I've ever read! The illustrations are photographs of the clay characters and they are precious! A WONDERFUL book that is difficult to find but worth the search!

The illustrations in Spider Sisters are so wonderful and creative (clay and real objects). John Trent uses spiders to describe the wonderful love and friendship that sisters share ('fuzzy armed hug', many arms to share toys with). There's such love and care in every word; i am buying one for each of my two sisters (and one for me--since i am using a borrowed copy). Get one!

My girls love this book as much as I do. It teaches them how to love each other and be there for each other....always. My girls have memorized many of the lines and refer to themselves as Spider Sisters a lot. Sweet as pie...it brings tears to my eyes every time I read it. We give it to other little girls with sisters all the time as a gift.

This is a charming narrative told by a young spider concerning the good, the bad and the ugly of growing up with a sister. Differences between the sisters are pointed out; however, the similarities which bond are also delightfully revealed. My young daughters, ages 5 and 3, as well as myself, thoroughly enjoyed this story amidst the detailed and colorful illustrations. Even in their early development, my girls came to recognize within the story that they have differences just as the spider sisters did, but that they too "will always have each other."

The book is so wonderful, you will laugh until you cry over some of the ideas presented. You will wonder what kind of mind came up with these great ideas. I am purchasing another copy for a friend of mine who has borrowed mine and wants a copy of her own. It gives a person great satisfaction to read the book and "dream" of getting even with the tedious people in their lives that are giving them such a bad time. It's a great read for a day that you are having the blues. I can't praise it enough!!!

The Star People is a touching children's book about a Native American brother and sister growing up on the Great Plains. This story contains many important lessons including familial love, appreciation for the beauty of the earth, and the importance of all living creatures. The illustrations are colorful, unique and vibrant. They capture the essence of the main characters, Sister Girl and Young wolf, and their wild surroundings.
This is truly a heart warming book that will leave both adult and children readers feeling the magic of the stars, plants, and animals that surround us all.

Parent's Choice award-winning author S. D. Nelson (who is also a member of the Standing Rock Sioux tribe in the Dakotas), presents The Star People: A Lakota Story. Based on Lakota legend, The Star People tells of a brother and a sister who become lost, and must find their way home, with guidance from the heavens themselves. Nelson's warm, multicolored illustrations bring this fantastic picturebook work of Native American folklore to life.

S.D. Nelson shares the wonder of the prairie and the Native American peoples. The importance of family is the heart of this story. The grandmother guides her grandchildren home when they are lost. The children learn that they are part of their family, the earth and the sky. The art work is outstanding and I look forward to more books by S.D. Nelson. Gift Horse is another of his excellent books.

My family has read these stories aloud to our children for three generations. Since the 1st edition of these stories is long ago out of print, it was great to see that a new compilation of these stories was published. Now we all can have a copy of these wonderfully funny stories to give to our children, instead of fighting over the scarce old copies!

I am the kind of person that is not going to buy or "buy into" a book unless it is supported by some reasonable evidence. If you're like me, then you'll love this book. It is based on a study recently conducted at the Tufts University. In short, the study used a program of exercise and nutrition to combat arthritis. The results? Pain was reduced by a whopping 43%!

Key to their program was strengthening exercises which have been shown in other studies as well as being extremely beneficial for arthritis patients. I am very pleased with books like these that offer sound treatments based on research. If you like these kind of books too and also suffer from back pain, I can recommend "The Multifidus Back Pain Solution" (available here at amazon.ca too) that is based on randomized controlled trials and involves only one exercise you do at home that strengthens your multifidus muscles found to be abnormal in many people with back pain. So start reading, start exercising, and start getting better!

Really seems to help!

I was recently diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis, and I started following the nutritional suggestions in this book. I think it's already starting to help! Plus it tells you how to perform strengthening exercises for your aching joints. I am a big fan of Dr. Nelson's other works. I like how she explains the science and the applications. I plan to share this with my mom, who also has osteoarthritis.

Strong Men and Women Beat Arthritis by Dr. Nelson

Review Date: 2003-10-30
This is an excellent work on the alternative medicinal and
conventional medicine protocols for arthritis. Dr. Nelson
mentions various Vit C dietary combinations utilizing
orange juice, strawberries or grapefruit to provide Vit. C.
Next, the authors cite important anti-inflammatory combos;
such as, Omega 3 fish oil and flaxseed oil. Sunflower oil
has the requisite Omega 6 ingredients. Sulfasalazine and
methotrexate are important protocols for treating seronegative
spondylarthropathies. In addition, the lungs, heart and eyes
may be impacted by ankylosing spondylitis and related diseases.
For instance, Iritis may impact the eyes. Calcification of
the heart valves and electronic problems with the heart have
been noted. Decreased lung capacity is another important
resultant of ankylosing spondylitis.

The authors point out that Chronic Juvenile Arthritis stunts
growth. In addition, the SED RATE (sedimentation rate) and
rhematoid factor are the gold standard for blood tests to
detect arthritis. In my own experience, the MOST- micro-oxidative
stress test may be helpful in articulating the yeast component
as an aggravating factor in arthritic conditions.

The authors provide an important series of exercises which
may be helpful for arthritic patients. The physical therapy
training consists of moderate squatting, toe stand
(standing erect on your toes), moderate push-ups by pressing
the wall, back extensions by facing the floor and raising the
head, modified sit-ups, knee extension flexing, full range
motion employing light weights in torque motion, face flat on
the floor raising the back legs, the lunge stretch,
cross-over hips, placing one knee on the chair and standing
upright or erect, shoulder stretches and a host of others.
Dr. Nelson indicates that excess joint fluid is a sign of
inflammation. In addition, surgical intervention can be
helpful. For instance, an artificial joint may last 15-20 years.
Acupuncture helps to stimulate endomorphins and change blood
flow patterns. There is evidence that acupuncture relieves
arthritis, although there is less evidence for Chiropractic.
This book is worth the price. It provides important alternative
medicinal protocols for arthritis as well as classic physical
therapy exercises aimed at preserving joint mobility and
elasticity. I would supplement the exercises with Alpha
Lipoic Acid to enhance bodily elasticity. In my own experience,
Northern Polar magnets may be helpful if strategically placed.

Utilizing stories within stories, Zink spins an interesting (although at times hackneyed) tale of personal growth. A great way to package many different techniques in a lively format. Definitely a nice reprieve from "technique textbooks" and "seminar transcripts" that seem so common in the world of NLP. I found myself highlighting many useful quotes and stories, and have recommended the book to several close friends and associates. It's on my list of books to reread every so often.
