This is an incredibly meticulous presentation of the annihilationist debate as well as a fantastic elucidation of Edwards' theology regarding annihilationsim. The content is simultaneously readable, well organized and concise. Morgan first presents the history, proponents and their arguments, and the evangelical responses to annihilationism. Then the author gives a summation of Jonathan Edwards theological method and its application to the debate as it rages today. Morgan explains that one's view of Hell is directly affected by one's doctrine of God and sin. Edwards' argument against the view of annihilationism, therefore, begins with the most fundamental doctrine in Christian theology for refutation, the doctrine of God. And Edwards does it well. Having minimal previous knowledge of this specific topic, I found this book to be thoroughly enlightening and a very stimulating read.

Since The Joshua Line has been in circulation, I've been getting feedback by some who are intrigued by the idea implied in the story that among the human qualities necessary for the survival of our civilization is that of being able to meet violence with violence. That would seem to be the case in this story. As it turns out, the tool of choice at the beginning and at the conclusion of the novel is a rifle. One would hope that civilization would eventually get beyond that, but for now.......? Bill Morgan, Author

WOWZERS> This employee profile was exciting suspenseful and funny, I Couldn't set it down. I was cooking a humungous ham for Jeremy and I burnt it because when I had to take my ham out of the oven I SAID TO MYSELF, " Poo to Jeremy and his ham!!" so, I read my book and let the ham burn! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! There was one part in the book, however, that did not appeal to me. The part on page 29 when the author starts to say how he's gonna get jeremy and how that as soon as he finds him he is going to stuff him full of tiny ground up Cap'n Crunches until Jeremy cries out " I Am SUPERMAN!!!". The author goes on to say that if he were to rate j Dawg on a scale from 0-10, Jeremy would get a big fat turkey of a ZERO!!!! I was very unhappy with this part of the book and actually, after reading it, I took, put a little bit of barbeque sauce on it, and fed it to my next door neighbor's kitty. This was a very sugar wafferery type of a book, and if you like books that jump up and down and bast themselves in tomato juice, then you'll love this book!!!!!!!!
WHAT is going on jp. Are you reading this beside me in social studies class. Probably not because they'll have already gotten you by the time we have that class again and once they catch you, jp, they'll never let you come back. POPOPOPOPOP

It's almost a shame this is considered a junior book, because it's useful for any student or fan of architecture (or women's studies); it's very well put thought out and contains photos I had never seen.

Eight unique stories, set on theTexas Gulf Coast, in fictitious "Karankawa County". Unforgettable characters---Maud and Mathatma, War Hoss Kelly, Rip Kelly, and more. Characters realistic enough to leap off the page at you. Unusual situations and a palatable feeling of country and sense of place. Morgan obviously knows his people and the situations that confront them.

when an Irish poet proclaims the 'death of metaphor" alarms
Helpful Votes: 3 out of 3 total.

When an Irish poet of Egan's stature titles his book of essays "The Death of Metaphor" the knowing reader realizes an alarm has been sounded. Mr. Egan's collection of essays--written from the "poet's poet" point of view--is a deeply thought and intellectually challenging gathering of publicly spoken and privately revealing insights into the decline of metaphor as the cornerstone of a poet's vocation. Mr. Egan's essays, while all of academic interest, are strongly based in his first-hand observations of the dimished role the poet plays in contemporary culture. The poet as bard, as prophet, as seer and sayer of the unspeakable is largely being lost to a world that heeds only the poet of the well-turned phrase. Egan's essays, as also his poetry, reveal that within this singular Irish voice is the working of a spirit that wells knows the anguish and the triumph of language. Egan seeks to preserve both, the pain and the pleasure, that is more than a well-caught image, a quotable line. It is, in this reviewer's mind, a tribute to Egan's singular voice that no one sentence stands only on its own. Egan is not, in other words, a "catchy" rhimer. Rather these essays must be read in their entirety and reflected over in order to understand his revolutionary call for the poet to reclaim the hallmark of wisdom and genius that Aristotle saw the creation of metaphor to be. Egan as an essayist as well as a poet remains a revolutionary. These essays are not easy reading, but that is exactly why they must be read.

The goal of Dr. Morgan is for readers to be able to unlock the potential they possess. He offers insights on how to do so as he teaches the principles practiced by achievers. From a Christian perspective, he teaches one how to live life to the fullest.
There are 49 chapters so the reading can be broken down into manageable segments. These ideas were practiced by Dr. Morgan, who was dean of liberal arts at the University of Louisiana in Monroe. He was also a popular speaker for various civic and religious organizations.
Although he is a scholar, Dr. Morgan had the ability to communicate effectively with audiences from virtually any background. This book is written to be understood by the general public. It is very easy to follow. I highly recommend it. The examples he uses demonstrate how the principles have worked in the lives of other people.

I knew a bit of what was in this book before I purchased it, I had been using a library copy for work in obtaining my Master's Degree (My specialty is Arthurian literature and I needed some good sources on Morgan le Fay). However, I did not realize when I purchased this book, how beautiful a brand new copy was going to be. The text is informative and just what I needed and the beautiful paintings reproduced in the text were a pleasant surprise to find.
