I did this program for about five months and was pleased to find that it actually did work, and it does feel good. You can lose weight on it (I lost about 10 pounds in 3-4 months) and it does develop you aerobically. (I found myself less out-of-breath when I exerted myself in whatever task I had on hand.) You can do as much as you like and as little as about 15 minutes a day, and this is a =real= 15 minutes, not an =exercise= 15 minutes, which normally doesn't include warming up, cooling down, showering, changing clothes, et cetera.

Since the complete thing takes 15 minutes, doesn't require a warm-up or a cool-down, isn't likely to make you sweat, or even require work-out clothes, it's a good way to get some activity into your life. It's easy to do when injured, and probably even a good idea when sick in many cases, unlike most workouts. You can even do it in the car.

Are there problems with it? Well, yes, you might find it very unpleasant to actually =do=. Intense breathing is not for everyone. (Some people compare it to yoga, but it's not at all meditative.) You're also not going to get the kind of muscles you'll get from the Body-for-LIFE program (for example) or the sort of weight-loss you might get from the Atkins diet.

But ultimately, I'm glad to have this program in my exercise arsenal. It can give you an energy boost when you're stuck in traffic, give you a way to keep your aerobic level up after a long period of not exercising, and is definitely a worthwhile effort.

Breathe deeply and burn away your fat

OXYCISE! is an important tile in the breathing-based fitness mosaic. Jill Johnson, via her three-part packet of book, dvd and audio tape, describes, illustrates and praises a vigorous 15 minutes per day breathing workout.

Breathe in deeply and quickly from your diaphragm, inhale three last times, then exhale fast with three final puffs. Repeat four more times. That is the basic exercise. Do it in a total of five different postures and you are done for the day: 15 minutes. Ms Johnson gives many additional postures and stretches, so you will not be bored. At first my wife got dizzy trying this fast, constricted breathing and I myself had a nose bleed.

But it doesn't take long, and you soon have a simple routine that you can vary by sitting, standing or lying down. And for the rest of the day, when you think about your breathing during a boring staff meeting or Red Hats Ladies meeting, just do a slow, steady version of the above (without the final puffs or sucks) and expand your lung capacity beyond the pitiful 20% that most of us upper chest breathers have come to think of as normal.

And when you are routinely breathing at an enhanced 60% or 80% lung capacity, what are some good by-products?

First, you will be better at any sport that responds to deep breathing, e.g. treadmilling or even marathoning.

Second, you will add an extra dimension to your yoga, tai chi or other exercises.

And, thirdly, with the Hindus and Buddhists you can study whole sciences of breathing and meditation.

Fourthly, like her predecessor Pam Grout (JUMPSTART YOUR METABOLISM), Jill R. Johnson also claims that deep breathing on a regular basis will make you lose weight.

Why would that work? Because, both women argue, oxygen burns (oxygenates) fat stored in our bodies. The more oxygen we breathe in, therefore, the more and faster we remove fat from our cells. And exhaling sucks fats and other wastes out of our body. Johnson cites many satisfied customers: deep breathing -- fast or slow -- causes weight loss.

What's more: deep, systematic, diaphragmatic breathing costs nothing. Save the cost of running shoes, gym dues and heavy exercise equipment.

Hurrah! -OOO-

A friend of mine who weighed over 400 pounds first introduced me to Oxycise because it was the only exercise he could do, and the system, combined with a lowish-carbohydrate regimen did help him to normalize his weight for the first time in his adult life. I also have another friend who navigates life most often from a wheelchair, and she uses Oxycise, adapting the routines to her needs.

However, after my friends introduced me to Oxycise, I laid the tapes aside, preferring more rigorous activities such as Boxercise, swimming, and la danse Orientale. Last month, I was waylaid by an inner ear infection that significantly limited my activity. With my physician's permission--which one should have before adding any new exercise--I began Oxycise and was able to retain much of my muscle tone and general fitness through my illness. I plan to keep Oxycise as part of my overall fitness activities.

So glad I purchased it!

I just want to say that I really enjoy this book. It does make sense: Oxygene burns fat and it's so simple to do! I've tried a similar method wich is good, but Oxycise is even better and more convenient. The book is simple, clear, you have picture of Jill (the author) doing the positions. And it works! I did it for 3 days and I already feel the difference, I feel lighter, I have more energy. I can't wait to mesure again! If I give 4 stars and not 5 stars to the book is that it's always better to call or e-mail an Oxycise instructor to make sure you get the technique. The book itself is excellent. But to get your support on the [website] is a must. If you do both, you'll be delighted!

Mr Morgan author of "Red Sea Rules" does not disappoint me with his new book "Promise" the book is wrapped around Romans 8:28. Again an exceptional book. How God works all thing together for Good. God does just this is our lives. It is a journey and God prepares and equips us thru the words of His book "The Bible". In the "Promise" we look at each word and how it connects our lives to God, only as I am obedient to the Lord. I renewed my desire to embrase God's plan for my life to it's wonderful completion.

Rob is one of the most wonderful speakers and you need to hear him in person. But, if you can't, pick up "The Promise", get in a nice quiet place and be ready to have God work his love in your life. Based on one of the most blessed promises for the Christian in the Bible, Rob takes you through the richness and blessednesses of how God works in your life to bring good out of the bad. Now, you might see your glass half empty, but then you will see it flowing over. God works in mysterious ways. He will guide you through the trials of life so that you can be a blessing as you encourage others as they pass through some of the valleys of life. Go ahead, get the book, and I dare you to try to not be blessed and encouraged. God is good. (so is this book).

Every book written by Robert J. Morgan is a comfort. This one was inspired by the New Testament, Romans, chapter 8. The promise therein is that almighty God can work all things in your life together for good.

How this can be accomplished is discussed in 210 pages of amazing
insights from the author, supported by various translations of verse 28 in the 8th. chapter of Romans, and life changing stories from people who, like all of us, have faced difficult circumstances. Rob Morgan also succeeds in bringing Bible stories to life in a unique way.

I happily recommend this book of hope, optimism, comfort and joy. It is a book like no other and explains how to trust God to lead us thru the rough times in our life in an intelligent and thoughtful manner.

Finally, a sensible and thought-provoking guide to using David Palladini's still-sensational Aquarian Tarot Deck originally released in 1970. This was the first Tarot I encountered and the one that sparks my intuitive side most dynamically. Until this time, the only book to devote itself completely to this particular deck was "The Windows of Tarot" (1973) by F.D. Graves. While colorfully written, that work simply did not journey deep enough into Palladini's amazing imagery. But author Craig Junjulas, a noted psychic consultant and spiritual educator, has changed all of that with this fine work. His "Psychic Tarot" not only provides eloquent, depth interpretations for each card, but prepares the reader by offering excellent techniques to boost intuition. There is also the addition of an extremely helpful Appendix that includes a wealth of information to expand the cards' meanings even further. Highly recommended! -Michael Orlando Yaccarino, Certified Professional Tarot Reader

When I replaced my tarot deck, thanks to your company of coarse, I thought it might be time to replace the book that goes with it. Always keep it handy for quick references when time is a must, and the meditations are specifically designed to go with this deck to enhance your talents. What would I do without you??? Although a lot of people like the Aquarian deck, I didn't take to it. I loved the art deco artwork but it didn't inspire psychic impressions.

However, that's not why I bought this set. I bought this set for the Psychic Tarot book by Craig Junjulas! I was happy to find myself in his words and it's an interesting combination that not many Tarot books delve into; the combination of using psychic impressions with Tarot.

I did find it odd that this book was paired with the Aquarian Tarot when I personally found the deck limiting, never read with it, and I eventually sold it -- so no loss in the end. :-)

Enjoy the book; I did!

I love this tarot book. It was one of the first books I picked up on this subject and remains my favorite. Craig has a nice style of writing and things mesh nicely. I particularily love the reversed meanings.....and figuring out the reversed meanings ....is not an easy task.... because life is not black and white.....The reversed card does not always reflect the exact opposite of the upright card. Ahh...such insight !!.....He has tons of valuable information packed into this book including astrological connections, chakras, psychic ability, tarot spreads and much, much more. Another thing I love is that the book is thin enough to fit in my purse... and yes, my book has traveled the globe with me....wouldn't be without it. A great job Craig...your efforts are outstanding...Cheers, Kiwi

Great European Novel, The language is Croatian, not Serbo Croatian. Town and country he is writing about is Zagreb and Croatia. The characters are unfogetable (Boba, Kyriales and others). I read this book about 100 times during the past 24 years. Make yourself a favour, read it slowly! Enoy!

an excellent, imaginative novel

Review Date: 1999-04-13
The early 20th century Croatian novelist Miroslav Krleza is far less well known in this country than, say, Bosnian novelist Ivo Andric or Croatian journalist and novelist Slavenka Drakulic, but reading this excellent book convinces me that he is far superior to the latter and almost in the class of the former. "The Return of Philip Latinowicz" tells the story of an aging and doubting painter who returns from cosmopolitan Europe to his small Croatian home town, both to retreat from current problems and to confront lingering uncertainties and resentments from his youth. The atmosphere, as the reader from the Netherlands writes, is wonderfully Dostoevskian in places; the characters are drawn unforgettably (at times with humor, at others with pathos); the story moves slowly at the beginning but becomes a sort of psychological thriller by the end. This is a very impressive book that deserves wide readership.

Unfortunately, only two novels of Krleza's have been translated into English, which does not even come near to doing justice to the volumes of novels, stories, plays, poems and essays this multi-talented writer has produced. The reviewer below is incorrect in saying Krleza is "almost" in the class of Andric. Krleza far surpasses Andric, and this can be sensed in "The Return of Filip Latinovicz." I highly recommend this and esp. "On the Edge of Reason."

This novel, rammed with ideas, bulging with imagination, shows fierceness and intensity of feeling characteristic of a slavic temperament. The Croatian writer, although sharing certain similarities with russian giant Dostoyevsky, has created a radiating, mind-boggling existential drama, soaked in regional folklore, yet, deeply resonating with universal verities.

Ellen Feld has found a niche and her craftsmanship gets better by the book......so you'd better buy this book.

Her characters are exactly who I'd like my grandchildren to be. They are delightful, unspoiled and have great values........and it's those values, preached from an accessible pulpit of horsemanship, that make her books the more valuable for parents to support.

Ms. Feld has built a base of characters with whom the reader becomes engaged and is interested in knowing more about.

I'm sure that as further books are written, we will learn more about Heather and Nicholas..........who they are outside the world of stables and horse shows......and, to this, I look forward.

It's wonderful to watch a young writer develop.

I read Rusty some time ago, finishing it in approximately one day because I could not put it down!!! It was a wonderful book, and I really enjoyed it.
This book is third in the Morgan Horse series by Ellen F. Feld, and continues the story of Heather Richardson and her horses Blackjack and Frosty. Frosty is expecting a foal, who is born at the beginning of the novel. As Heather raises "Shadow" and continues to work with her other horses, she branches out and begins jumping. Her friend Laura helps her, and Heather's mount is the talented gelding Rusty. The pair soon enter the exciting world of show jumping, seeking to qualify for the Tri-County Jump-Off. Rusty and Laura came close to winning this event years ago, and Heather is determined that she and Rusty will win this time!
Then Heather notices that her foal, Shadow, is developing crooked legs. She will require surgery to fix them. This becomes an exciting subplot to the story. Heather also makes a new friend, Nicholas, who is aiming for the Jump-Off as well. They train together and help each other, until, at the very last moment, a hoof abscess and another accident may keep them both out of the competition!
The thing I enjoyed most while reading this book was its realism. The author obviously knows horses well. The horses' personalities and the events that happen are described excellently. The book is also very educational on subjects such as foal-raising, jumping, showing, and general horse care. I jump with my own horse, who, like Rusty and Heather, knows way more than I do about it!! I was really able to relate to everything that happened to Heather as she perfected her jumping skills. It made Rusty a very enjoyable read for me.
Many lessons about friendship and good sportsmanship are woven into the story as well.
This whole series is made up of very realistic and entertaining horse stories. I would highly recommend this and the two preceding books, and I hope the series continues!!!!

New sales managers need to know what to look for in applicants. This book offers all that needs to be included. The book covers more then just hiring employees, author Robert Calvin also covers topics for any situation you could encounter.

As a successful sales executive for a Fortune 500 company, I was glad a friend recommended this book.
Although I have been managing a large sales staff for years, I found the book enlightening and useful. It reminded me of some basic principles that are so important to good sales management as well as providing some new ideas that are easy to implement and very practical.

I now keep this book on my bookshelf for frequent reference. I often refer to the chapter on hiring for effect (Hiring the best; terminating the rest)as well as the chapters on Training for results and the one on motivating salespeople. In fact, I have used some of the techniques descibed in motivating salespeople with excellent results.

Consequently, I would definitely recommend this book even if you are a seasoned sales manager. It is an easy read and an excellent reference tool you can go back to time and time again.

Sales Management Demystified leaves no stone unturned for both newly promoted and experienced sales managers. For the newly promoted sales manager, Calvin's book is a front-to-back, comprehensive self-teaching guide to creating, hiring, training, compensating, organizing, motivating and evaluating a sales force. The experienced sales manager will find this book to be an excellent resource and reality check for any task at hand, such as planning a sales meeting, restructuring a sales channel, or dealing with sudden, unexpected turnover in the sales force.

Whether reading this book front-to-back or using it as a resource to research a particular sales problem, sales managers will appreciate Calvin's conversational tone and reader-friendly formatting. I especially liked the way each chapter's subtopic got its own distinct subheading, which made it easy to pick up the book and quickly find a discussion of any sales management problem currently at hand.

If you are only going to read one sales force management book this year, I'd strongly recommend that it should be Sales Management Demystified.

Not only is it well written because the story is interesting, unpredictable, sexual and wonderfully witty. My immediate impression of the author is that not only are they talented, but they seem to have a way of touching on life changing, serious issues in a lighthearted way that makes the topics covered hit home to everyone.

Its a great great read. Buy it!

This first novel gets your attention and keeps it. Filled with humor and heart, twists and turns, it's a fun read with some sobering moments as the "simply complicated" story unfolds. I really enjoyed it.

I understand that this is DC Morgan's first novel. I have to say that I really enjoyed reading the book - it's a real page turner. With something exciting happeing in each chapter, it was hard to put down. If you enjoy romantic fiction with a bit of an edge, this book is for you. I think the book will appeal mainly to gay men and straight women. Highly recommended.

superior analysis with an exhausting amount of information

Morgan's analysis will give anyone who wants to know more about slavery an immense amount of material. Comparing the Chesapeake and Lowcountry areas of the American colonies during the eighteenth century, Morgan discusses the economic and cultural sides of the different slave institutions and discusses black-white encounters. No matter how one may try to define slavery in one, distinct way, Morgan shows there is always an exception to that definition. I know Morgan worked for many years to produce this book and that this book is the culmination of an immense amount of research and analysis, but this book would make a larger impact if it was shorter. By the time I was done reading this mammoth book, I had a hard time remembering all the topics he brought up. For any history student, like me, it is worth reading, but make sure you give yourself plenty of time to understand it.

I had the pleasure of listening to this author lecture to in class during my senior year of college. Having the opportunity to discuss this book with the author made Slave Counterpoint come to life. Slave Counterpoint makes the topic of Antebellum slavery captivating for those interested in learning about the early days of slavery in the Cheasapeake Bay region. I strongly recommend this book to anyone who has a sharp curiosity about early colonial history and wishes to be engaged in an honest account of events(I would recommend reading this book a couple of chapeter at a time).

Philip D. Morgan's exhaustively researched and extremely detailed text seeks to compare and contrast the social structure and overall formation of the slave systems of the Chesapeake, VA and Lowcountry, SC regions during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Morgan does not adopt a narrative approach: he offers numerous discussions-all of which are deftly integrated into his descriptive analyses-of how black cultures changed over time. Morgan spends the 700-odd pages eschewing monolithic portrayals of black culture at almost every opportunity, preferring to investigate complexity and contradiction rather than to resort to pithy judgment. This is an excellent, important read.

I have read no better detailed study than this book. Long but worth it due to the rich detail.

It is one of those few books that explains the concepts of label switching in a lucid style without confounding the readers. A must read.

Outstanding descriptions and comparisons of various switching technology models. Presents the nuts and bolt of switching and what they mean in terms of performance, scalability, etc. Also, some outstanding references. Clear writing style. Tough concepts sometimes seem simplistic, until incorporated into the models. Must read.

Definitive guide to MPLS

This book was the first in series on the MPLS topic by Yakov and Davie, the two leading experts in the subject area. At the time this book was published, people didn't even know the term MPLS as opposed to now when it has become a latest acronym to be exploited by marketing parasites.

This book gives an excellent description of different label switching techniques implemented by different vendors at the time, such as IBM, Toshiba, Ipsilon and cisco. This breaks down the chapters on vendor by vendor basis, explains their implementation and then at the end compares all the different approaches.

Even though Yakov and Davie are both from cisco, you can't tell it from reading the book because they have presented the implementations in total impartiality and fairness and only judging the implementations on its technical merits.

After reading the book, you'd understand fundamentals like FEC, label stack encoding, LDP and various techniques/signaling to carry label switching information.

If you want to buy a book om MPLS today, you should go for the latest edition of this book, titled, 'MPLS technology and applications'.

Great introductory book for label switching techniques ....

There is no doubt about this great written book. The reason I only gave this book 4 starts is that I bought the book of "MPLS : Technology and Applications " from the same authors before this one. The coverage and contents between those two books are quite the same - Douh !. My suggestion is that just buy the "MPLS" one if you do not care about CSR and ARIS stuffs too much.
