FIREBUG is a great mystery story for readers 8-12. It's fast-paced with lots of action in each chapter and plenty of suspects to choose from. When 12 year-old Haley arrives to help out at her uncle's guest ranch in Sedona, Arizona she decides to find out who set one of the new cabins on fire. She learns that her uncle has been getting threats in the mail. Does someone want to ruin his business? Or are they after the tresaure that is rumored to be buried on the old ranch? Is her new friend Zach part of the solution or part of the problem? This book is a real page-turner and will keep readers engaged until the final page.

First Lady Of The Senate: A Life Of Margaret Chase Smith is an outstanding biographical introduction to a truly remarkable woman whose wit, wisdom, compassion, practicality and idealism made a lasting impression on her contemporaries in Maine and in Washington. Alberta Gould's exceptional and informative text is enhanced with period photos and a bibliography. First Lady Of The Senate is highly recommended reading for students of American history, political science, and women's history.

As a teacher of Elementary School social studies, this book has become an invaluable resource for my classroom. The format is easily read and understood by students. It has a wealth of information about each Texas Indian tribe. This book is much easier to read and understand than any other book on the subject that I have found. A must-have for every classroom and library. A classroom set makes it much easier for students to do their research, since they fight over a single copy!

This was the first book I read that had been put out by the Heritage Foundation. I had been a big doubter of the flat tax, but Mitchells arguments and facts showed me that I was way wrong. He cogently argues that a flat tax is important for the economic well being of our country. HE also looks at other tax plans and shows their flaws and merits. For anyone interested in tax policy, this is a must-read!

This is a very good book, even if you don't like poetry I believe this book will pull at you to read more until you're done and when you're done you'll want to read it again. I really shouldn't say it's for everyone, some poems in here are only for open-minded people (ones who like to think outside the box, tear it and build it again, who twist it into whatever they think of) while others are for everyone (including kids) It has a few in their that my nephews and nieces love to repeat out of the blue.

Well, you either like this genre or not. I do, and this series is one of the best. Great relaxing stuff. not are trying as Graham, not as bleak as Dexter, nor as intellectual as Sayers, but fun stuff all the same.

I am using the book on daily basis. It is excellent reference for any hydraulic system. It contains a description of all components and their functions then move to troubleshooting the component. It is well organized book and deserves reading it.

I am just getting started in the sport of saltwater fly fishing. This is my second book on the subject and I found it full of things I need to know. The information was clear. Reading was easy and flowed well. My only complaint, the book came apart at the binding within a day.

I have not read this book. However, as a military historian here in the midwest, General Mitchell's story needs to be told. Some say that this "controversial figure" was so prescient that if his advice and wisdom had been heeded, we may not have had Pearl Harbor on 12/7/41. That's to be discussed and determined forever where people have the knowledge and interest to discuss history over Survivor and Dancing with the Stars. Either way, a necessary tale to be told & admired, and a man to be revered. (At least his hometown of Milwaukee named the airfield after him.)

A Down-to-Earth Masterpiece

"How do you teach courage?" Brett Webb-Mitchell asked a class of would-be Christian educators one day about 5 years ago. His class was puzzled; Bible studies and theology would surely be about the most challenging thing they would ever have to teach. There was already curriculum available, and in a pinch, they could always write their own. But how do you teach a virtue like courage? When Webb-Mitchell's question was met by several moments of confused silence, he sighed and told his students, "You teach courage by being courageous."
In Follow Me: Christian Growth on the Pilgrim's Way, Brett Webb-Mitchell shows that to be a good teacher, you have to embody that which you are trying to teach. For years, Webb-Mitchell has focused his work on the education and inclusion of people with disabilities (broadly understood) into the life and work of the Church. His book, Christly Gestures, was a bridge book between his earlier work and his new passion: the practice of pilgrimage as a means of educating the mind, body and soul in the ways of Christ.
For Webb-Mitchell, the life of faith is a journey in which we are always travelling a little closer to God. In this way of looking at life, everyone is a pilgrim, whether they know it or not. By exploring what it means to walk the pilgrim's path as laid out by centuries of prayer, discipline, gestures and penitence, Webb-Mitchell becomes a compelling teacher to those of us struggling with our identity as pilgrims on the way.
Follow Me is the first of two books on this model of Christian learning. School of the Pilgrim is its more theologically-laden, studious companion. Follow Me is a more personal look at the lessons learned on the pilgrim's path. Through anecdotes about a wide variety of pilgrimages (both those "sanctioned" by the church and those pilgrim moments in everyday life), Webb-Mitchell brings his own wonderful quirky sense of humour to the discussion, as we the reader are invited to journey with him and other pilgrims as they discover Christ on the road . . . and in one another.
I have read much of what Brett Webb-Mitchell has written and have been privileged to hear him speak in person. This book is as close as you can get to a chat with this cutting-edge Christian educator without travelling to Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and having a cup of coffee with him at the local shop. In its pages, Webb-Mitchell speaks honestly and authentically about where he has gone, the things he has seen, the people he has met, and most importantly, the lessons he has learned. Though it is best read together with School of the Pilgrim in order to get the fullest understanding of his thoughts on the subject, Follow Me is without a doubt the best book Brett Webb-Mitchell has ever written.
