This book should be on the desk of every technician, manager, administrator, designer and theater visionary, period. When Dramatics reviewed this book over a decade ago, they wrote, "Greening Up Our Houses is an informational goldmine. It should be considered required reading for every environmentally conscious student, teacher, or practitioner of theatre." Well, they almost got it right. Strike "environmentally conscious" from the last line, and they would have had it spot on. In short, if you care about the theater, and you care about your community, buy this book, read it, and start making changes today.

As anyone might expect from the Greenpeace stable, the emphasis here is on conservation - and so it should be! Commencing with a chapter headed "What is a Dolphin?", I cannot think of a better way to start any book on any factual subject than by describing precisely what that subject is. So, having left the reader in no doubt as to what this book is all about, we then go from strength to strength as it describes the creature's; Evolution, Family Tree, Anatomy, Behaviour, Swimming, Relations, Intelligence, Echolocation and instances of Stranding. And that's just from part one entitled "The Nature of Dolphins."
From this point onwards, the reader benefits from having just received a great education into these endearing mammals. It is, therefore, with a greater understanding of the creatures in general that we now move on to learn about, All Ocean Species, Artic Species and Northern Ocean Species. It is here we encounter the Pakistan and Yangtze River Dolphins and the even rarer Vaquita from Mexico (to mention but three). Along the way we are taught of man's threat - both deliberate and accidental, and that threat is quite disturbing.
Altogether, this is a book packed with information supported by outstanding colour photography and diagrams. It is a book which brings home a message loud and clear and is one that should be read by anyone who has ever been thrilled by the sight of Dolphin.

May Wedderburn Cannan lived through World War I, losing her fiancee, Bevil Quiller-Couch (son of "Q") to influenza in early 1919, yet going on to find for herself a place in the world of letters. She wrote three books of poetry in addition to a novel, The Lonely Generation, and this (unfortunately) unfinished autobiography, published posthumously in 1976. She writes in a direct and straightforward style, exhibiting character and personality. What a disappointment to come to its last pages. Her personality is so attractive and strong that she could easily be a representative of the women's movement today. A fine book!

This book, authored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, contains all the necessary information through the forms of short stories, quotes of church leaders and other prominent people, scripture references, studying ideas, and a 'notes' section at the margin of each page to become a more effecient missionary. This book is a major convenience for all who want to learn more about the LDS Church's gospel principles, and its missionary efforts, all of which are centered around serving others through preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.

THE HAREM contains four erotic romance novellas and each story has its own twist on the Harem theme. "The Secret Door" by Noelle Mack has a slight paranormal element where the heroine--a lonely odalisque--unveils a hidden garden overseen by a mysterious golden-hued man.
In "The Pleasure Garden" by Emma Leigh, the shipwrecked heroine finds herself at the mercy of a handsome Englishman who must teach her the ways of Tao lovemaking in order to prepare her for the emperor.
In "East Meets West" by Celia May Hart, the half-Indian, half-English heroine has been trained in the erotic arts in preparation for the Maharajah. Escorted by a charismatic lieutenant neither one can deny their overwhelming passion.
Author Melissa MacNeal takes a slightly different approach with the Harem theme in "A Lady's Pleasure." Recently widowed Ophelia Leeds discovers that her late husband captained an elaborate ship fashioned to entertain all his wealthy friends' sexual desires. Intrigued by the escapades detailed in a hidden journal, Ophelia sets out to make a Harem of her own.
Each story revolves around a theme of forbidden passion, but my personal favorite is MacNeal's "A Lady's Pleasure." Sexy and fun this novella lightens up the mood and still makes you squirm in your seat.

This cookbook is an essential guide to Nigerian (Ibo) cooking done healthy. It has all the popular staples such as Jellof Rice, a variety of mouth-watering soups, Souya, meat & vegie pies, chin chin and special-occasion foods.
Under its guidance, for the first time in my life, I made a delectable Okro Soup. It was extraordinarily good! Not even the most sophisticated Nigerian cook would have known that it was from a first-timer! Thanks to the detailed instructions, I had the timing down. With Nigerian soups, quality ingredients are important but the timing is also a key factor.
I can't wait to try the other recipes!

This is a wonderfully-written love story. But instead of detailed love scenes in typical romance novels, it is written respectfully about the relationship between the characters. The "love story" is also about the characters' love of Wyoming. The descriptions of the landscape are so vivid it is not hard to see it in your mind even if you've never been to Wyoming. It was hard to put this one down and well worth reading, especially for those that love wide open spaces.

In this book, Helen Hunt Jackson is an excellent and fascinating biography of an independent 19th century lady whose claims to literary fame rests on her remarkable circle of friends and a single romantic novel that aroused the public sympathy towards the plight of the American Indian.Helen Hunt Jackson was the author of "Ramona",a tragic novel of social injustice. After more than a century(and more than 350 successive printings)Ramona is still in print and has been compared to "Uncle Toms Cabin" that is one of the best selling books in publishing history. The saga of Ms. Jackson's life has all the scope and diversity of good romantic fiction and is peopled with an incredible cast of characters including her life long friend,Emily Dickinson;her literary advisor,Ralph Waldo Emerson and her California mountain guide,John Muir. This is a great book!!

Gene (Genevieve Bonneau) is finally reunited with the aristocratic Southern family she never knew. Although her long-lost grandfather still denies Gene her inheritance, she finds several reasons to stay in Louisiana--not the least of which are several attempts on her cousin's life and the handsome but distant Jonathan Eversleigh. May, in typical fashion, really waits until chapter sixteen to metaphorically take us there, but, as usual with May, it's well worth the wait. This is the first of May's books in which she touches upon the issue of race. However, aside from a few carefully crafted Jefferson/Hemmings moments, the main character, Genevieve, does not deal with it and thus we are given no vicarious insights into May's own views. Personally, I hope that May will write a novel that addresses her perspectives on bridging the racial divide, as I am sure she has had such experiences. This book is extraordinarily gripping and the back cover photograph is now imprinted on my soul.
