Why not should you figure that the reenfocements are from Spain? Camping is, however, such a fun sport to include in words. The book ingrained in my soul the rights of hypotenuses. I will forever love it. BUY IT!

A Good Story Book

Whether or not you believe in the ghost stories presented in this story (I do!) it is a great book to read, at least for the story if nothing else. In my home outside of Cape May, I thought this was a good book to read curled up on the couch durning a thunder storm that just blew in from the ocean. Some chilling tales and also some good stories.

Nautical Action Story from the war of 1812
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 1 total.
Review Date: 2005-03-09
This is the story of Willing Hand, the son of a Maine sea-captain during the war of 1812. His father is half farmer, half sailor, and the proud owner of the pilot boat Fair Molly. The war of 1812 puts an end to his piloting, and so they turn the sloop into a coastal packet boat. The Royal Navy blockade eventually prevents that as well. His father then decides to become a privateer and Will has to talk his mother into allowing him to go along. They encounter many dangerous situations and adventures as they do their part against the British. They capture merchant shipping, skirmish with coastal units of the RN, and even chase down some spies that had been a thorn in the side of the US cause.

This book is primarily aimed at teenagers, but I still enjoyed reading it again recently, even though I have long since graduated to the much more sophisticated and detailed works of Patrick O'Brian. I recommend this book for anybody that enjoys reading tales from the age of fighting sail.

A wonderful guide for enjoying the beauty of this special town on the Jersey Shore. Known for its bird and butterfly migration, Cape May Point also offers it's history, ecological beauty and its ability to take one back 100 years in New Jersey Shore American History. The author who is a resident of the "Point" is a proud keeper of the towns special history.

Captain Carrot and his Amazing Zoo Crew Animated Series, Please!
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 0 total.
Review Date: 2008-06-26
Captain Carrot and his Amazing Zoo Crew is the most amusing comic series of the 80s. It would be great if there is a animation series for the Zoo Crew in the near future. Make Alley-Kat-Abra a complete hero, please and don't write her killing Little Cheese. Many Captain Carrot fans would be happy if Captain Carrot and his Amazing Zoo Crew gets an animation series, which should have happened years ago. Please create an animation series for Captain Carrot and his Amazing Zoo Crew, and use the first 20 comics as episodes!

This was my first novel by this husband & wife team. The story was full of romance, intrigue, and wonderful history. The Boston setting was both quaint and unsettling, as was accurate for the era. Although ultimately a love story, this book also served as a reminder of the sacrifices made by unsung American heros of the Pre-Revolutionary War and beyond. Portia Edwards was a delight; lovely and selfless. Pierce Pennington was a magnificant hero, handsome and intelligent and loyal to those he loved. The secondary characters were interesting and very realistic. Captain Turner was clearly unwell mentally but I didn't feel sorry for him; he was indeed evil. I do look forward to reading the rest of the McGoldrick books.

The context of this book is an interview with Carl Rogers that occurs late in his life. I found it to be very well constructed and edited in such a way to allow Carl to tell his story and give his account of his remarkable life. Anyone with an interest in humanistic psychology or Carl Rogers will enjoy this book.

Cat lovers will purr over this title

Love cats and hunky men? Fans of Sue Charnley will purr of THE CAT-NAPPED LOVER.

Adam Talcott's partner dares him to live for just two months without the benefit of his money or influence. Assuming it will be a piece of cake, Adam takes the dare and tumbles headfirst into trouble. With a car that won't run, no money, not even a cell phone, Adam stumbles upon the Shea D Rest ranch. Shea puts him to work.

Meanwhile, everything that can go wrong does go wrong for Rue Clancy. She loses her job and her apartment in nearly the same breath. There's nothing left to do but go limping back to the aunt who practically raised her. Rue plans to work at the ranch to help earn her keep.

When Rue meets Adam, she assumes he's up to no good. Hurt by an ex-boyfriend who wiped out her bank account, she assumes Adam is up to the same swindle with her aunt. She fights her growing attraction for him but it's a losing battle.

Sue Charnley creates two characters who are all wrong for each other. At the same time, the sensuality and charisma between them makes us route for things to turn out all right. Keep an eye on this author. She writes a contemporary romance with a western flavor that will make your tastebuds sings and leave you craving more.

Lucid and well documented
Helpful Votes: 11 out of 11 total.
Review Date: 2002-01-16
Dr. May provides a coherent introduction into the ethical issues surrounding sexuality as taught by the Catholic Church - both from the standpoint of Natural Law and John Paul II's personalistic philosophy. Faithful to the teaching of the Magisterium, May critiques revisionist views such as "consequentialism" and "proportionlism" that have curiously only arisen since Pope Paul VI's issuing of Humanae Vitae. May supplements his argument with copius citations of Church documents. Highly recommended for a Cathechist or anyone interested in what the Church truly teaches on sexual issues, May has a knack for relating difficult philosophical issues to the layperson without prior training.
