Nautical Action Story from the war of 1812Review Date: 2005-03-09
This book is primarily aimed at teenagers, but I still enjoyed reading it again recently, even though I have long since graduated to the much more sophisticated and detailed works of Patrick O'Brian. I recommend this book for anybody that enjoys reading tales from the age of fighting sail.

Cat lovers will purr over this titleReview Date: 2002-12-30
Adam Talcott's partner dares him to live for just two months without the benefit of his money or influence. Assuming it will be a piece of cake, Adam takes the dare and tumbles headfirst into trouble. With a car that won't run, no money, not even a cell phone, Adam stumbles upon the Shea D Rest ranch. Shea puts him to work.
Meanwhile, everything that can go wrong does go wrong for Rue Clancy. She loses her job and her apartment in nearly the same breath. There's nothing left to do but go limping back to the aunt who practically raised her. Rue plans to work at the ranch to help earn her keep.
When Rue meets Adam, she assumes he's up to no good. Hurt by an ex-boyfriend who wiped out her bank account, she assumes Adam is up to the same swindle with her aunt. She fights her growing attraction for him but it's a losing battle.
Sue Charnley creates two characters who are all wrong for each other. At the same time, the sensuality and charisma between them makes us route for things to turn out all right. Keep an eye on this author. She writes a contemporary romance with a western flavor that will make your tastebuds sings and leave you craving more.
