Each year I pick the best book read that year. In 1946 I read 78 books--48 fiction and 30 non-fiction. This great book was the best one I read that year

12 chapters of knowledge. David Marshall Lang has created a masterpiece which breaks down the history of Armenia little by little. There area also tons of pictures of ancient Armenian artifacts, and incredible pictures of Armenian locations. This book was incredible. Page after page of facts. Only problem was it seemed to be a little short (300 pages). Could have been a bit longer.

Do I Recommend This?: Yes

I suppose that some of the work in this book, one of a 13 volume set written between 1916 and 1932 (reprinted in the 1960s, has been changed by more recent scholarship, but there is still nothing to equal this fantastic achievement. The set includes not only the more familiar myths such as Greek and Roman, but pretty well succeeds in its goal to include all of humanity. The text is extremely detailed but very readable; none of the turgid prose so often associated with academia. The volumes contain numerous illustrations, both in the text and as plates (mostly black & white.)
One of the most useful parts of the set is the final volume, an extremely detailed index, which allows the reader to pursue a theme, or even a topic as specific as the significance of belts, across all the volumes. The individual volumes do not have their own indices, but the tables of contents are fairly detailed. The books appear to have been issued without dust jackets.

This book will arouse and amaze. Seriously, Maxx is a fantastic artist who has worked on a crapload of cool video games like Starcraft and Diablo. The Art of Maxx is a fascinating look into his unique-as-hell mind and will make all lesser artists tremble in fear.

Plus it's a big book and great value for like 9 bucks. If you love comic books, hot girls, and your immortal soul... you need this book.

The Assistant Principal is very highly recommended for all educators and school administrators searching for a well authored and highly detailed presentation pertaining to the often difficult role and responsibilities of the assistant principal.

If you read Regency Romances then this book might be of interest. It gives historical background to the way life was in 1665 and from it you can see how life developed into the regency time period. It happens to include both the plague and the great fire of London. An English author, I happen to like the way all women are still referred to as Mistress. Also you, your, thee, thou and thy are treated interchangably at this time period. An interesting book in its own right, interesting and accurate use of language and a well researched history lesson in its own way.

I have known the author for many years and have watched the amazing effort and attention to detail that when into this work. The final result is splendid. It is a work of love for both the subjects of astronmy and ancient and medieval coinage. From our perspective it is often impossible to gain insights as to why these coins depict what they do. Here Faintich solves part of the puzzle in a clear and engaging manner. The ancients were very more in tune as what was going on in the heavens and the astronomical symbols (and their interpretation) were used to commemorate the events of the times. Your purchase of this work will give you a much greater understanding and appreciation of the ancient and medieval world.

This book has not only outstanding photography of many locations throughout the world which are known for romance, history, and culture but also very good historical background information. It accomplishes all of this without being a history book. It is travel and the pleasure of exploring new worlds all at your fingertips! Enjoy it
