What is there not to love about a story set in the hills of Tuscany! A romance rich in story, humor and suspense. I loved this book! Daniel and Kathleen are two people trying to get it right the second time around. You will laugh, cry and fall in love right alongside Kathleen and Daniel.

I have never seen Vol. I, so I do not know what material is covered there.

"Communications Networks" is misleading as a title to the modern reader. This is Prof. Guillemin's discussion of transmission lines and related lumped constant circuits. As with his other works, rather than being encyclopaedic, he does a clear, logical thorough exposition of carefully limited subject matter.

This is early Guillemin, so the work is devoted to analysis and explanation more than systematic understanding of fundamentals. Nevertheless, it is the Master at work, and I suspect there are very few readers who will not come out with new (to them) insights and an appreciation of having been exposed to the working of a first class mind.

I bought this as a gift for a friend who just got a new puppy. He has already filled out all the information and started storing his paperwork in it. This is a great gift idea. He said that it asks for a lot of good information and has insightful health related information for your new pet.

As a new hiker/backpacker I found this book to be very helpful and entertaining. It has 99% of the information that anyone would need to get started hiking and I'm sure there is information for the seasoned hiker as well. There are web addresses and phone numbers for maps, clothing and gear. It's a terriffic place to go for whatever information you need.

I am a martial artist who believes like bruce lee did that you should study all the arts and not have one set form .Okinawan Karate being one of my arts I can truly say that this was a really good book. It gives you all of the basic stances, kicks, punches, and blocks. It also has many advanced techniques. But the book doesn't stop there. It goes on into nutrition, workouts, and stretches. Also, it includes sparring (kumite), tournaments, and forms (kata). I love this book.

"Complete Knitting: Techniques & Projects" from the 'Home Arts' series by Creative Homeowner Press is an ideal knitting project instructional workbook that is spiral bound inside a covered spine so that it lays down open and flat for the convenience of the knitter. Step-by-step profusely illustrated instructions for knitting twenty five one-of-a-kind garments, accessories, and home accents (including knits for babies and children), result in a comprehensive course in all the knitting basics along with the essential tools and techniques required for successful knitting. Of special note is the 'Stitch Library', the practical advice on correcting knitting mistakes, a knitting glossary, a list of abbreviations, and recommended sources for knitting supplies. "Complete Knitting" is especially recommended for the novice beginner, but has much of value for even the more experienced needle crafter.

Luis Camnitzer's "Conceptualism in Latin American Art: Didactics of Liberation"' is an essential book for anyone interested in understanding the differences in the currents which nourished Conceptual Art in Latin America and in mainstream Conceptual Art in the United States. In it's scope it should take it's place next to "The Dada Painters and Poets", Motherwell's magnificent introduction to early European radicalism. Both books open for us broad areas where writers, artists and poets opened new venues for expression.
Discovering for us the work of Simon Rodriguez (1769-1854) alone is worth the price of admission. By allowing Rodriguez's work to resonate with examples, Camnitzer establishes in my view the most important theme of this book. Conceptualism in Latin America arises out of the immense wealth inherent in language and literature. From Simon Rodriguez to Max Aub, Jorge Luis Borges, Vicente Huidobro to a long list of artists who have enriched this legacy, right up to Leon Ferrari working at maximum intensity in Argentina.
A meticulous analysis of North American conceptualism reveals it's inextricable relation to Capitalism. This raises the question: Up to what point can Democracy and Capitalism coexist. What possibilities are left for art when a booming market swallows anything and everything thus neutering any possibility for subversion. Thus La Monte Youg's chilling phrase: "I am not interested in good: I am interested in new- even if this includes the possibility of it's being evil." To this the author juxtaposes Superbarrio's statement: "One day I left home to go to work and I saw two flashes of lightning, one yellow, one red. I closed my eyes after I was caught in a whirlwind. When the wind passed, I opened my eyes and I was dressed like a wrestler! Exactly as you are seeing me today!"

This 119 page book was written by Brenda Lewis Cleary, who is a doctorally prepared gerontological-nurse specialist who has practiced in both primary and long-term care settings. The book has seven chapters. 1. Long-Term Care in the United States-a well referenced, descriptive chapter about characteristics of U. S. nursing homes, organizational climate and culture, regulatory environment, characteristics of residents, staffing and quality of care in nursing homes and long-term care. 2. The State of the Science in Long-Term Care Research-identifies research studies in thematic areas of research priorities for decreased mobility, falls and restraint, incontinence, cognitive impairment, dehydration, weight loss, infectious diseases, and identifies model programs. 3. Issues of Research Design in Long-Term Care Research-includes information about federally mandated rights for recipients in long-term care, decision making, informed consent, surrogate decision making, protection of vulnerable subjects, and advanced directives. 4. Issues of Research Design in Long-Term Care-reviews design and methodology, sampling, data collection, and future issues in long-term care research. 5. Gaining Access for Research-presents strategies for gaining access such as meeting with the system representatives and administrators, working with staff, and involving residents and family members. 6. Implementing long-Term Care Research-delineates roles of the researcher and staff, strategies for screening and enrolling subjects, preventing attrition, access to medical records, and recognition of people who help with the research. 7. Dissemination of Findings-identifies sources for disseminating findings and suggestions for manuscript submission. There are an extensive reference list and index at the end of the book. This is a good book for teaching about long-term care for advanced practioners.

If you have any interest in Depression-era art, this is a must read. Frank Long's writing style flows smoothly and makes for an absorbing and entertaining experience. Full of humerous anecdotes, this book evokes the period eloquently.
The author is my father (deceased, 1999), but I would have said all these things even if I had no relation to him.

"Consumers Guide To LTC" is an excellent resource for everyone involved with long term care. Clearly written, concise chapters provide relevent information about most issues in nursing homes. Nursing care, Dietary services, Social/Medical services, Nursing Assistant training- what to look for and watch out for. Great source of state to state contacts for filing complaints, looking up survey records of nursing homes is listed in back. The survey process is briefly described, OBRA regulations relating to resident rights are thouroughly reviewed and explained. Advanced directives are also written about. This book is a must read for anyone looking into placing a loved one into a nursing home; it is also a must read for staff who work within the walls of a long term care facilty (nursing home) I strongly recommend this book.
