An essential for aspiring filmmakers and fans.Review Date: 2008-02-28
If you liked Rebel Without a Crew, you'll love this one.
If you're a Troma fan pick it up. If you want to make movies pick it up. If you want a look into the life of a man with an extremely interesting story pick it up.
This is a book I will be returning to both for reference and enjoyment.

To me this book is more about Troma patting itself on the back and reflecting on their wacky stories then about really empowering anyone but themselves. Read if you are a fan of Troma, not if you are looking for encouragement.

Move over, Clapton. Lloyd is God.Review Date: 2007-10-22
No matter what your passion is, Lloyd Kaufman gives you the inspiration to go out and damn well do it. Don't have the money to do it? Find a way to make it happen regardless. You'll never have all the money you want/need to do things the way you want to, unless you sell your soul to the godless corporations, so just kick that imagination of yours into high gear and get the job done. I recently edited a horror film reference book - a lifelong dream - and much of that inspiration came from meeting Mr. K on and off the page.
I have met Lloyd several times since at various conventions and am always impressed by his passion and his accessibility to his fans. He is constantly surrounded by adoring admirers, but he takes the time to acknowledge each one of them and everyone who comes in contact with him feels that they have had a "real" moment with Lloyd. That is a true gift. But if you want to spend some quality time with the great man himself, pick this book up. You'll have a new best friend and a new hero to look up to.
Into the mind of a truly independent Film director.Review Date: 2007-08-29
Lloyd Kaufman tells it like it is (in his mind that is.) But also comes across as genuinely passionate about what he does.
The only thing I can say is that if you've ever watched a Troma film and enjoyed it (even a tiny bit) then get this book.
Don't forget Lloyd's other book "Make Your Own Damn Movie!" and the Toxic Avenger Paperback.
Money spent on Troma is money spent on the things that make movies fun!

Vital information for all college kids and new gradsReview Date: 2006-04-14
My son first said that he wouldn't read it but when his roommates started getting into credit card problems they turned to this clever guide to see how he could make it through college without falling into the ubiquitous debt trap.
His fraternity brothers graduated with thousands of dollars in credit card debt. Two of them even had to move back into their parents' homes because they couldn't afford aparatments on their small starting salaries since their credit card payments far exceeded their salaries.
My son got a great job after college using advice he also found in this broad ranging book. Granted hia job didn't pay much in the beginning but without credit card debt he was able to get an apartment that he could afford and buy a used car with cash he had saved. A year later he has enough left over from his paycheck to put into a 401(k) plan. He's happy and able to support himself and his mother and I are proud that we have raised such a financially responsible son.
Our daughter chose to go directly to grad school. Learning from her brother's experiences she also followed the advice in this savvy book and just said NO to credit cards until her senior year of college. She uses the cards but pays them off each month.
While most of our friends don't like to discuss the financial problems that their kids have gotten into a lot of our neighbors' growns kids have shared their credit card problems with our kids. Some are even using the book to help them get out from under their college credit card debt.
That just scratches the surface of the useful advice in this book. All college kids and teenagers should be required to read this book before they've dug themselves into debt.
I highly recommend it.

Sensational Book That Stands the Test of TimeReview Date: 2004-03-16
Like most of us those other books probably did not work for you --even if they were recommended by TV celebrities who know nothing about finances but can't resist recommending books for other motives.
If those other inferior books did work as they were purported to then why would you still be looking for a book with usable answers?
This book, Simple Money Solutions, is a stunning exception.
The advice is accurate. It includes an array of advice because money advice is not one size fits all. And the advice never becomes obsolete. It does stand the test of time!
In fact those other books that claim to have THE One and Only answer is almost guaranteed to be nothing but a book built on unproven gimmicks or trendy tricks that do NOT work and that certainly won't work over the long haul.
This book and its author, Nancy Lloyd, have taken a different and sound approach to money matters. She presents the issues we're all struggling with out in a clear and concise way and then lays out the options, including financial products, services and strategies to implement various plans.
My neighbor and I both read this book but based on our individual situations we chose different financial strategies that fit our unique lives.
I have now thrown my other financial advice books out (I wouldn't even give them away for fear that some unsuspecting reader would follow those other books' feeble and inaccurate advice).
But I have been punked by other books for the last time.
Simple Money Solutions is a KEEPER!!
Our Get Out Of Debt Club'sReview Date: 2004-03-11
When we finally fessed up to this secret problem we started looking for good money management-debt reduction books but while many claimed to do it most left us with more debt than we started with. Eithher their advice was too convoluted, or too simplistic or in some cases not legal.
Several of us had even been to debt consolidators and other debt eliminators but many of them took our money and fled without ever paying our bills.
Then we saw Nancy Lloyd on Good Morning America and decided to give this book a shot. Ding, ding, ding. It was a winner.
She explained in plain talk how to get real about our debt. We learned how to negotiate with our creditor -- even exactly what to say to get them to lower our interest, forgive some debt and get some negative marks taken off of our credit reports.
Nancy also showed us some simple ways to, as she put it "free up cash each month" so that we could finally make more than the minimum payments.
What can I say except that after several years all but two of us are DEBT FREE. The other two women can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Our book club has now become an investment club and Nancy's great advice on starting and growing a portfolio are paying off even in this sideways stock market.
We now have Peace of Mind at last and no longer fear answering the phone because the creditors are no longer calling!!!

To piggyback what everyone else is saying...Review Date: 2008-07-12
The questions at the end of each chapter and in the CD-ROM, in my experience, are similar to that of those found in nursing school exams. They strive to be in an NCLEX style, but are more geared toward testing your understanding of the content found within the chapter. This is helpful for content review purposes, but they are not as solid of examples of NCLEX questions as compared to the Kaplan book (another book I recommend). However, the rationales Saunders provide make up for that issue nicely.
If you are dedicated and really want to pass the first time, you won't regret this purchase!
Must have for foreign educated nurses!!!Review Date: 2008-06-13
Allow yourself a few months studying hard from this book (it is 'no-frills', almost written in note form, but it is the closest thing to experiencing a proper review course you can get outside the states)
At first I found the rationales in the included chapter exams very difficult to agree with in terms of prioritization, coming from the real world critical care environment, but the more questions and rationales you do the more prepared you will be. I would also recommend a question and answer book - I used the incredibly easy NCLEX RN question and answer book and the Mosby one.
As much as I recommend this book I also found it very useful to answer questions from several different publishers as I found they would all be somewhat different but it is a very accessible way of learning and getting questions wrong really helps for the right answer to 'stick'.
Overall a 5 star recommendation, there are no other publications I am aware of that offer this sort of package. Buy it and work hard!
I found out this morning that I passed! in 75 questions!
Good luck, good luck, good luck!

When you decide you need to work on the aristocratic side of a girl, of course you would send her off with a pig keeper and a beast man, wouldn't you?
Because of this, and a bit of a princess triangle, they all end up in a Land of the Giants type scenario, or at least in part.
Here, along with a bit of magic, is a fantasy book where a crow actually comes in useful as a good thing.

Clearly, my dears, this IS the book for you.Review Date: 2006-01-11
When I rekindled my love for musicals, and of course, Phantom of the Opera made that happened... I had to get everything and learn everything about Phantom. So I found this book at the library and I went insane over it.
Firstly, it gives a clear background history on Gaston Leroux--the writer and the creator of Phantom of the Opera. Then, it goes into another section when talking about the films it inspired. You'll be surprised and amazed when you see it and read about it. Not only that, it tells you some small tidbit facts on the actors and actresses of these movies.
And then, my favorite part, it goes into the Lloyd Webber musical. And when I say "goes into" I mean it!! There are so many pictures of the Original London Cast it's phenominal! There ares ome behind the scenes pictures as well. I never seen so many pictures about Phantom sure in a book, ever.
And when you think that's enough, there is a libretto of the stage production--including scrafito'ed pictures of the OLC copied in there as it was when the CD/Cassette first made it's debut.
All in all, it's not clearly updated as it is now, there is mention of the movie and who they want in it. But otherwise, if you are a London Cast or simply a Phantom obsessionist, you MUST have this book. If you find it at a house sale, a junk pile, book sale... whatever... BUY IT. You will not be dissapointed!!
An absolute MUST to buy!!Review Date: 2005-02-02

I've been working in HTML and CSS for about a year using Dreamweaver. I didn't have a great grasp of the basics, but didn't want to spend money on a book to cover what I already knew. I took a chance on this one and I'm glad I did.
The author's writing style is upbeat, but not overly playful. Other How-to books tend to take the humor too far (____ for Dummies) but this one strikes the right balance.
More importantly, the information is well explained and usually works on the first try. In other words, one can learn a great deal and build a working product quickly with this book.
I now have a knowledge base that helps me in every facet of web design. If you feel you're missing a few pieces of the puzzle, or are new to web design- you'll love this book.
Good book for beginners/refresherReview Date: 2008-06-23
The book also covered tables and forms pretty well. Other useful stuff include how to put the site online, how to activate the forms, and other web-related advice.
There are a few minor cons to this book. There wasn't any info on frames (i would like to know). Theres a one small typo in the form chapter which confused me a lot. Also, the author could have skipped a couple of pages that deals with people who also beginners with computers.
Overall, I recommend this book for people who dont know anything about css/html and people who know css/html a little bit but wants to learn to do it the correct way. I would also like to note this book is probably not worth the money for people who know decent css/html.
Great - even for someone who is not a beginnerReview Date: 2008-05-27
