Good drink book, but not for margaritas.

The book is a cute little mixer recipe book, it has nice glossy pages, and beautiful photos but the title might indicate you to believe there are lots of margarita recipes, there are only 3. It's really more about tequila than margaritas per se.
There are recipes for Tequila Sunrise, Nacionalista, Paloma, Martini, Mojito, Colada, Shooters, Limonada but all made with tequila. There are nice full color pictures of the drinks in the appropriate stemware.
In the back are several recipes for food nibblers, guacamole, salsa, chili con queso, fajitas, etc. all with pictures and clear instructions. We made the quacamole and it was delicious.
Would highly recommend just don't expect all margarita recipes.

Lots of YUMMY tequila recipes!

This is not simply a margarita recipe book, it has tons of really delicious cocktails to make with tequila. Each recipe recommends a particular type of tequila (anejo, silver, reposado, etc) and starts with a little story about the cocktail, when is best to try it, where it originated from, etc. The recipes use fresh, sometimes exotic ingredients. It is a beautiful little book and would be a great gift with a very nice bottle of tequila.

We have made several of the recipes and wow! A great book!

If you are looking for a drink book, this is a really nice tequilla and Mexican drink/snack book with some awesome pictures. However, there are only 2 or 3 margarita recipes.

Some of the other recipes look good and I am anxious to try them out.

This, along with Blackheart is the best of Leigh's book that I have read. The story is original, believable and fast-paced. It has all the elements of a good historical romance: a great heroine, a strong male hero and believable attarction between the two. The plot has interesting twists and turns and reamins captivating till the end. It is not just a rehash of stories previosly written, which happens commonly when romance writers get burned out.

THIS BOOK WAS EXCITING, DESCRIPTIVE AND FUNNY. I LOVED HOW LIZANNE LEARNED TO FIGHT AND HOW PROTECTIVE SHE WAS OF HER BROTHER. THE SPARKS BETWEEN HER ANDRANULF WAS EXPLOSIVE. THIS WAS A WONDERFUL READ!

Tamara Leigh's writing is mellifluous. I had to look that word up to make sure it was what I wanted to say. If you don't know, it means, briefly, "having a smooth rich flow." This entire book flowed from one scene to another, one chapter to another, and ended perfectly, without any quick tying up of loose ends (I hate that). It was just a really well-written book with well-developed characters. It opens with a prologue about an attack on Lizanne Balmaine and her brother when she is about 14. Five or whatever years later, she sees the man who attacked them and kidnaps him, tossing him into her dungeon. That's where the book actually begins, with Ranulf Wardieu waking up in the dungeon, shackled to the wall and his female captor standing over him. Yum. As soon as I read the first few pages, I knew I was gonna like this book! I liked both the hero and heroine very much, especially since Lizanne managed to get through the entire book being prideful, but not once resorting to "thrusting her chin in the air." That phrase or something very close to it is in just about every romance book I've read, and I've read a lot! There are some very interesting and awful twists in this book, making it very hard to put down. I recommend this book whole-heartedly. I can't think of anything I didn't like about it.

Circles means curved piecing----not one of my favorite things to do. But if you want to tackle curved piecing, this book provides you with 23 pages of how-to's on the subject. Tools, fabric, techniques for cutting, appliqué methods and embellishments are all covered in this section.

The patterns, of which there are eight, each have a skill level, a finished quilt and block size plus the photo of the finished item. Materials and cutting lists re clearly written and there are graphics to help explain the written words.

Making, assembling, adding borders and finishing the quilt are written in an easy to follow manner. Tips are provide throughout the book in a green block so they are easy to find. An 11 page gallery will help give you ideas for your own quilts. The section on quilting ideas provides a dozen quilting designs so you can always find the one that will fit just perfectly with your quilt.

As with most quilt books, there is a 5 page basic quilting section in case you need to review a certain technique. The final pages are a resource page and a 3 paragraph bio of the author.

At Geller and Patrick, Inc knowing her married boss Owen McCabe is a sexual predator, marketing genius Jessica Howell decides she needs a hunk to serve as "arm candy" to keep him off of her while they work together on her campaign for a new cosmetic line. A mutual friend arranges for sexy Dan Crawford to serve as Jessica's escort. He agrees because he learns she has a brilliant mind that interests him while she realizes he is perfect because he offers more than a pretty face as he understands discretion.

Dan enjoys spending time with Jessica even when he shares her with others at parties, media events, and other galas. He looks forward to the displays of affections and kisses, but especially without an audience. The only problem is that he wants it to be real not the sham that Jessica seems to insist on even when she admits to herself this is the best sex she ever had.

ARM CANDY is a fun contemporary romance starring two lead protagonists who heat up the sheets. Readers will appreciate Jessica's woes with occupational sexual harassment though her solution to the odious Owen is unique. Though the topic is serious and the story line avoids the depths of the issue perhaps with too much humor, fans will enjoy this delightful bedroom meets boardroom love story.

Bear's Visitors All Have Very Good Manners --- And Your Kids Can Too!

"Bear Loves Visitors!" is a "Bear in the Big Blue House" chubby board-book, one of several "Bear Loves!" releases. This book is subtitled "A Book About Manners."

In this story, Bear compliments the kids of the Big Blue House about their politeness. They say "please" and "thank you," they ask before borrowing or taking something and they apologize for their mistakes.

This book is a great way for any fan of the series to learn about manners. The story is simple and short, but teaches a lot. This book combines photos of the characters from the show with original illustrations by Tom Leigh.

I don't know what it is about this book, but my 5 month old daughter loves it. I've renewed it at the library twice. Her face lights up when she sees it and as I read it. It does have cute pictures and offers opportunity to do different voices.

We are continuing to enjoy Chateau Mystere. It makes learning french fun for both my 4 and 7 year old. The book allows you to start out with simple french words and phrases to solve the mystery and then add more detail in future readings.

I think the book works very well for us because I know some french. I am finding it a very creative tool that the children request over and over.

Excellent for elementary age children

As an elementary french teacher I found this book wonderful It is one that my 7 year old constantly requests. It introduces basic vocabulary, but can also be used to introduce more advanced words as time goes by and the child's proficiency increases. The "mystery" makes a child think and maintains his attention, thus increasing the desire to learn the new words. Even without any knowledge of french, a parent could work through this book with a young child, although pronunciation may be a problem. This is a wonderful book that I would highly recommend to anyone wishing to stimulate a child with a new language.

Another beautiful book for collectors of costume jewelry by Leshner. The pictures are mouth watering and the topics digress from earlier books that are solely devoted to rhinestone jewelry. This book includes other types of jewelry like plastic jewelry, silver and beads. The vintages go through the 1960s with a good sampling of many styles. Leshner produces some of the very best books on collectible costume jewelry available that are a joy to look at as well as educational for the collector.

This book is clearly and sispassionately written. It is full of important information on five crucial trials, and throws considerable light on the strenghts and weaknesses of the American administration of justice. One wishes the authors had included more cases. But, even as it is, it is a good book to assign to courses of criminal justice at the undergraduate level. For me, the strongest of the five articles is the one ons the Lindberghs' baby, in which the deleterious influence of unethical and sensationalistic media is well highlighted. And the weakest the O.J. Simpson case, perhaps because its proximity in time. The article on the Scottsboro Trials is very helpful in understanding how the Supreme Court has established precedents that are making justice for all more of a reality in America. In any case, excellent reading, both for people acquainted with the US criminal justice and for those who'd like to start getting to know it.

A superb survey of contemporary crime & American justice.

Crimes Of The Century examines the Leopold and Loeb murder case (1924); the Scottsboro Boys case (1931), the Lindberg baby kidnaping case (1932); Alger Hiss and the House Un-American Activities case (1948); and the O.J. Simpson case (1994) in a fascinating analysis of the 20th century American criminal justice system. Each case example highlights significant lessons about criminal behavior and the administration of criminal justice. Fascinating, insightful, compelling, sometimes chilling, often challenging, Crimes Of The Century is very highly recommended reading for students of American jurisprudence, criminal psychology, and the non-specialist general reader with an interest in contemporary crime and the American justice system.

As the King's healer and former friend, Caelan holds a special place in society. But when she angers her King and refuses to betray her best friend, she is thrown into the Abyss: a dungeon that nobody ever returns from.

Shocked by the abrupt turn of events, Caelan is forced to turn to Garron, a former Protector, in the dungeon for protection. With nothing else but her body to trade, she surrenders herself in order to remain alive another day. But Garron is determined that he pleasure her also, and not just use her body for release.

As they struggle to survive and discover their passion for each other in the daily danger they face, Caelan and Garron also find that their singular talents compliment and enhance each other's powers. Can they escape the treachery and lies, or will they die in each other's arms in the Abyss?

Dark Heat is a wonderfully woven story, surrounded by magic, danger, treachery and passion. I loved every moment that Caelan and Garron had together, and was desperate for things to work out for them when it looked like nothing could stop Fate. My heart pounded with each and every panting breath their passion produced between them, and I tingled with magic as they discovered that theirs combined. Bravo - I loved my escape into Dark Heat! The author definitely pulled me into this interesting world, libido first!

I really liked this story, I never read Arianna Hart before, but I will be looking for more of her work. Lots of the books I've read are just full of sex. But Dark Heat had a lot more, like a plot, passion, romance and love and of course sex. I don't mind sex in a story but sometimes its over the top and I actully get bored with it. Dark Heat had a good mix of everything.

The fans have taken over!

Review Date: 1999-08-10
A book such as this would have been almost inconceivable a decade ago, such is its dedication to its subject matter. Without wishing to use the comparison in a derogatory manner, the "Dark Shadows Almanac" is a book which reads almost like a fanzine as opposed to a standard reference guide. As such, the serious fans will lap it up, even if their less initiated counterparts will be left scratching their heads in confusion.

Composed of a scrapbook-style mix of bite-size pieces of trivia, rare photographs, cast remembrances and obscure information, the result is a warm tribute which, much like the show it is inspired by, makes up for its occasional instances of over-ambition with a charming sense of enthusiasm.

Perhaps the most bizarre aspect of this book is the manner in which it offers a handy way of discovering how great a fan you really are of "Dark Shadows": If you read the text with interest, understanding the feelings of nostalgia and warm remembrance, then you are doubtless part of the fan community already; if you are occasionally left puzzling over elements, then you are well on your way to making the crossover; and if the whole thing leaves you cold, then perhaps the prospect of further initiation is a dish best not served.

In short, this is a book which will be of great appeal to its intended audience, but probably to that demographic only. Speaking as a fan of "Dark Shadows", I think that the book is a fine tribute for readers like myself and, looking at the results, can't help wishing that more viewers of shows were catered for this well.

If you do not have this book yet, get it know!!!
