I read Lacey Leigh's "The Emancipated Crossdresser" and would thoroughly recommend it to both closeted and 'out' crossdressers and their families and friends.

As I see it, the book has 2 parts - the first part dealing with the 'inner' crossdresser, the cause, effects, consequences and joys of being a crossdresser. The second part is about the 'outer' crossdresser - the clothes, make-up and presentation which has lots and lots of helpful information and tips not only about achieving the desired 'look', but also about the manner in which to conduct yourself whilst in public.

I have read other books on crossdressing written by both so-called professionals and crossdressers themselves, but Lacey's book is by far the most well-rounded and balanced I have read on the subject to date.

A helping hand for crossdressers and other TG types

Lacey Leigh has been a visible participant on the national crossdressing scene for some time and has done all crossdressers a real service --- distilling for those hesitant to undertake this lifestyle the guidance, tips and advice they need to break through the barriers separating them from their femme side and the enjoyment and fulfillment that awaits them there. Her counsel runs the gamut from dealing with the psychological issues (both of the crossdresser and wives or SOs) to wardrobe and makeup to going out on the town and mingling en femme. While especially helpful to those who are looking for a guiding hand, a "how to" manual if you will, it also contains much of interest to those at a more experienced level. Many will especially enjoy her thoughts on security and safety as they are both humorous and helpful.

Simply put, it is the best book available for those who are or want to be crossdressers. It is also a very valuable work to share with those close to crosdressers who need to be informed about what CDing is (and is NOT) all about. For a subject needing much clarification and accurate information (rather than the tabloid and television nonsense) this book is a refreshing and much needed breath of clean, cool air. I highly recommend it to all readers.

As a home-confined heterosexual crossdresser of 30 years, this book spoke directly to me as to who I am and what I have been doing all these years. I am not unusual or a freak, just a family man, who likes to wear woman's clothes.

The early sections of this book discusses the who's, what's, and wears's of being a heterosexual male crossdresser. It supports the idea of expressing one's feminine side by wearing woman's clothes. Being transgendered is a good thing and an emotion to be proud of and expressed without guilt and shame. But more importantly, it does so without being preachy or too psychological. Some other books concerning crossdressing get bogged down with finding the roots and reasons for crossdressing without exploring the joys of it.

One of the premises of this book is that it addresses an acceptance of the dressing because it is just something one does for fun and a means of expression. The book has a lightness and sense of humor about itself. It almost reads as a how-to book about one's favorite hobby.

As a recent "out and about" crossdresser this book helps smooth over those fears of making that step out the front door. It is clear in pointing out that no matter how good you may think you look that you will always be a man in a dress. Once that is realized and accepted, one can then move on and enjoy the experience. This is something my wife has been trying to tell me for over a year now. She kept asking me if I was enjoying my little ventures out because my fears and apprehensions were showing rather than my slip. My concerns of being clocked never enabled me to be relaxed.

This book is about attitude. It gives pointers on how to develop an attitude that makes it acceptable to be that man in a dress accepted by salesclerks in store, waitstaff in restaurants, and so on. It says, yes I am in a dress, I like who I am and so should you. It says I am not unusual and should be treated as any other customer. Practing this approach has paid dividends for me . I am about over my phobia of approaching salesclerks. It has helped me engage them in asking for help. Some salesclerks have even gone that extra mile on the occasion when I have been read. It has helped in eating out by keeping the walls of the restaurant from closing in on me. There have been no problems to date, just a wealth of better dressing experiences.

This is a great and fun how-to book. Besides any book written by another gal named Lacey has to be good.

This book was great! Very informative. I would recommend it to everyone who thinks they would enjoy this lifestyle. Lacey is the best at putting this lifestyle into perspective. She has tips on dressing, makeup, security, and everyday living. This book is real. It comes from her heart. Read it!

Lacey Leigh does an outstanding job of presenting the truth that there is life outside the closet! This book is filled with personal experiences the author has had out and about as a crossdresser, dining, shopping, and conducting outreach to the non-crossdressing community. It is quite apparent that Ms. Leigh is comfortable with herself and the warmth of her comfort is very contagious. This book is a "must read" if you are a crossdresser or in a relationship with a crossdresser. It is perhaps one of the best books on the subject available today, plus, Ms. Leigh's writing style make the pages fly by! It's informative, enlightening and fun. I highly recommend it!

great gift for a child's birthday party

Ever wonder what the heck you're going to buy for all the birthday parties your child is invited to?

I stumbled across the Puzzle Books series by Susannah Leigh sort of by accident and LOVE to give these books as gifts. Puzzle Castle tells an adventure story while encorporating mazes, puzzles, seek and find, and a number of other interactive games that are suitable for kids ages 3 and up.

In this story, our heroine is Sophie the brave knight. Her friend Titus the Timid has invited her to Puzzle Castle for a banquet, but first she must get rid of the monster in the dungeon. It is a cute, interactive story.

My son is only 3, so some of these puzzles are a little too old for him. But we read this together at bed time and have a lot of fun. This is a great book to grow into, and you can read it over and over and spot something new each time.

My 2 boys love all the Usborne Puzzle books. They are cheerful and fun, with a variety of hidden pictures and clues to solve. We have all the titles, but this book is the favorite of my 6 year old.

We came across this book about 6 months ago when my daughter was 2.5, and she cannot stop talking about Sophie, the brave knight, the dragon, and Cecil, the friendly ghost. We then went on to buy more puzzle books, which were all good, and which were all finished within one sitting because my daughter was so enthralled, but Puzzle Castle really seems to be the stand-out. This is such a fun activity for parents to do with their children, and the puzzles will appeal to children of all ages.

Entertaining, creative fun!

These books provide hours of entertainment and are great fun for the child, the friends, siblings and the parents. All will enjoy these books. Puzzle Castle is about " Sophie " who is helping her friend find the monster in the dungeons before the grand banquet. " Cecil " the castle ghost you must find on each of the double pages and he does hide! " Jester Jim " is practicing juggling and you need to find his juggling balls and you never know how many there will be. Then in each of the double pages in these wonderful illustrations you need to find " useful equipment " that consists of flashlight, key, extra-brave toffees, monster protection shield and many more objects. You don't know what page which object is on so you must remember these objects (or look back in the first couple pictures until you get it narrowed down) The adventure takes you to find a safe route across the moat, matching people with the rooms, My favorite was finding the right baby with the right outfit. Each set of double pictures also has a puzzle, full of mazes, searches and just a lot of fun. Then at the end they make it to the grand banquet. This really was a lot of fun.

So much more than a book

My sister gave my 3 year old daughter this book on the strength of the unusual heroine - a female knight. My daughter loved it so much that we bought the whole collection of Puzzle books, and every one has been a complete success. She reads (or rather, we read) them over and over. The illustrations are so rich and interesting that we find all sorts of things to discuss even after completing the particular puzzle at hand.

Just finished reading this book for the first time. It was great, especially since I grew up in the area it was written and watched that crowd ride. The story line tells it like it was back then... The charactors are believable, and the ending made you want more.... could not put it down. If you enjoy this book, pick up a copy of In & Out by Barbara Moss. My favorite three books are now, In & Out, Riders, and now Show Gypsies...

I found this book in the library and have read it probably once a year ever since. I'd LOVE to own a copy, but not for $190!

The story is realistic, and characters are a bit stereotypical, and the action is spot-on. I've never been on the "A" circuit, but have spent most of my adult life on one show circuit or another, and this is pretty much the way it is. If I never see another Motel 6, I will die happy.

If you love show jumping then this book is a must. The details and the excitement draws you in and makes you put off making dinner just to get to the end. There is a love story included, but it doesn't make the book mushy, just that much more intriguing. It is an old story but still is timeless. Every horse lover will love this book.

Absolutely the best novel ever written about life on the American "A" horse show circuit in the 1970s. Every detail is 100% accurate. If you were around then, you will recognize the roman-a-clef elements and will be able to name the real horses and riders on whom the characters were based.

As everyone else has stated, this is a MUST read!!

...And surely worth a reprint...

I've checked this book out from the library at least once a year since it first came out and I'm sure that's why the library still has it! The accuracy and reality of the horsemanship and the charm of the characters-- both human and equine-- make it quite unique. Why didn't she ever write a sequel??? Now I've moved across country and really need to find my own copy. I miss it.

Excellent little book. Some of the concepts that challenged me was the excerpt written by a communist supporter and his commitment to his cause and how the author compared that to our commitment to our Gospel cause. It really made me examine my passion for Christ. The second was the contrast between being a slave for Jesus vs. being a servant. Take your time and absorb it in.

DeMoss does an excellant job of using Gods Word to "...penetrate even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow...". I loved her specific examples of behavior and then scripture applications for it, such as:

"When your flesh wants to pass along a critical report about another believer, and the Spirit says, "Speak evil of no one" (Titus 3:2) bow your head and surrender to God."
or
"When your flesh wants to lashout in anger, and the Spirit says, "Clothe [yourself] with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with one another..." (Collosians #:12-13 NIV), bow your head and surrender to God."

Asking personal questions like: "Have you devoted to Christ "the whole of your life, " or are you merely giving Him your "spare evenings"?
Or Have "you chose friendship with God over all human relationships, earthy attachments, and visible security"?

She gives an excellant example of what surrender looks like by going through the song My Life by Frances Ridley Havergal, the one that starts with "take my life, and let it be consecrated, Lord, to thee..." This alone is worth reading the book for.

It's great convicting stuff even for wonderful mature-in-the-Lord Christians (which I am not compared to the friend who gave me this to read). It's a book I'll read again and save for my daughter.

This is an excellent book. I haven't read it all yet, but if you have asked Jesus to be your Savior, you should understand that He also needs to be your Lord - and that's Lord over everything! This book gives great insights to some of the things we hold back from God which really need to be relinquished. I highly recommend it.

Addresses very specifically the needs of tramatized and inocent victims who are searching for emotional, spiritual, and practical answers about where they have been. It will bring spiritual wholeness into view without preaching down, judgement, or self-rightous indignation. May many who have been hurt seek out these books.

I love it when God sends the right book at the right time, and that is exactly what happened with "Surrender". I think there are times in my life that I understood what surrendering to Christ meant, and I think I have given Him all. While reading "Surrender", I realized that surrendering is a journey. There are always deeper levels of selfishness to overcome. Surrender doesn't necessarily mean giving something up outwardly first, but it it starts with the bowing of the knee so to speak in our heart to Christ. I also realized that the more I try to hold onto and control even the smallest of things, that I ultimately come under bondage to it, and it becomes one more burden to carry. Christ wants to carry our burdens, and live in a life of peace. Surrender is the only answer.

I will definitely recommend this book to my friends, and keep a copy for myself to look at in the future. It is truly a valuable book. I would also highly recommend "Surrender" for a small group, or a book club. DeMoss has a discussion guide at the back of the book for each chapter. It is a fairly easy read, that could be covered in eight weeks.

Wildest Dreams is an anthology by Janice Maynard, Morgan Leigh, LuAnn McLane three authors that until this book were new to me. All three stories are steamy, enjoyable reads that have their light hearted times as well.

Suite Secrets by Janice Maynard brings Rebecca Fraser, a magazine reporter and Sebastian Tennant, the owner of the speciality hotel together. Rebecca is out for an exclusive story, while Sebastian knows he cannot let such a story to take place. What does transpire between the two is more than they bargain for with the sexual chemistry and enough sparks to ignite a forest fire. But in the end they realize that what they have is special.

The Second Story Voices Carry by Morgan Leigh finds Camelot Reeves fantasizing over her boss Jonah McCauley. Because of Company Policy she knows that she can never have him, But they meet in the Company elevator by chance, one thing leads to another and they find they cannot fight their mutual attraction to one another any longer. What happens next makes for a delightful steamy read by a talented author.

Cabin Fever is the last story in this Anthology and is by LuAnn McLane. Rachel Manning is an author of sweet romances, but has a secret alias as author Jade Johnson who writes steamy hot romances. Jake Nichols, her agent, knows about the two sides of Rachel. Jake shows up at her wilderness cabin to inform her of the great news on her latest contract and gets stranded by a storm. But the storm outside is mild compared to the sexual, steamy storm that is sparked by Rachel and Jake inside the cabin. LuAnn has written a spicy read which rounds out this anthology nicely, and I will be looking for more books written by these authors.

Wildest Dreams is a wonderful anthology by three fantastic authors. All three are now on my auto-buy list.

Suite Secrets by Janice Maynard has Rebecca Fraser trying to get the inside story on Sebastian Tennant specialty hotels. Sebastian agrees to show Rebecca his newest hotel as long as she agrees to spend it as his "wife". Sebastian and Rebecca have amazing chemistry and snappy wit. An amazing read that will make you sweat. Can't wait for her next book.

Morgan Leigh brings us Voices Carry. Camelot Reeve has it bad for her boss lawyer, Jonah McCauley. Just his voice alone can send her over the edge. A chance meeting in the company elevator leads to a dinner at Camelot's place and so much more. Their attraction is tantalizing, you can just feel the sexual tension build. Jonah and Camelot have a connection that exists in and out of the bedroom. Morgan Leigh has a brought a bright new voice to romance.

Cabin Fever by LuAnn McLane has author Rachel Manning who normally writes sweet romances working on sensual romances as "Jade Johnson". Alone in her cabin Rachel lets Jade out to play. During a storm, there is a pounding at her cabin door, it's her agent Jake Nichols. Jake is coming to tell her the great news about her latest contract. Jake is not prepared for the woman he meets. Their attraction is instantaneous and they are steamy. LuAnn McLane adds another exciting story to this anthology.

This book is a must read.

Another Great Anthology By Brava!!

This is another great Brava anthology that you won't want to miss. These are stories from some great up and coming authors that will have you laughing out loud at times and fanning your face all at the same time.

Janice Maynard's Suite Secrets is about Rebecca Fraser a reporter for a travel magazine and she needs to interview Sebastian Tennent the owner of these secret hotels in order to talk him into allowing her to do a story on the luxurious hotels. Problem is that these are private hotels with secrecy being the main priority. Sebestian knows he can't allow sexy Rebecca her story exclusive but makes a deal with her. She comes with him to his newest hotel and poses as his wife and he might just let her have her story. What happens is both of these different people find out that they have more in common then they thought and the steam the generate is...well you get the point. Will either Rebecca or Sebastian get what they want or do they get something else all together?

Morgan Leigh's Voices Carry is my favorite of the three stories. Camelot Reeve has a problem. He bosses voice turns her into a melted puddle of lust. Before she knows it she is finding herself involved with the one man she knows she can't have but can't stay away from. Will Jonah be able to keep his lady?

LuAnn McLane's Cabin Fever is great. Rachel Manning is a successful author of inspirational novels. Her big secret is she's also the author of some very sexy and erotic novels under a different name. No one knows her secret until her sexy agent Jake Nichols finds her hidden away in the mountains penning just such a novel. Before they know it these two different people manage to set a spake that could burn down a forest!

This was a fun and rather fast-paced read. I highly recommend any book published under the Brava imprint. You are garaunteed a spicey read with great characters. This book is no exception.

I highly recommend WILDEST DREAMS, an anthology from the BRAVA line, known for its BAD BOYS series. Each story in this anthology packs the heat and features a couple we want to see get together, as the couples mesh well.

SUITE SECRETS by Janice Maynard features a heroine, Rebecca, who wants to save her career, so she agrees to the outlandish proposal by the owner of a posh and exclusive resort. Once there, she gets lost in fantasy, and loses her heart to him.

VOICES CARRY by Morgan Leigh. Ever think a voice is so sexy you just melt? That is how Camelot feels about her boss. He captures her acting out her fantasies, decides to act on it and proceeds to reel her, and her heart, in.

CABIN FEVER by LuAnn McLane. Rachel is an author and has a secret that few people know. It doesnt take long for the hero to figure out who she is. What he sees intrigues him, and since they are stranded, what better way to pass the time than have a little fun acting out the scenes in one of her books...

Why should you purchase this book? If you like your stories packed with heat and lots of romance, you should buy this. If you like to find new and upcoming authors that promise to have a future in the romance publishing industry, get this. All three stories were awesome. If you loved the BAD BOYS series from Brava, then you will also enjoy WILDEST DREAMS.

Overall, this book is too good to pass up just because you have not heard of these authorsbecause you will hear from them again. All three authors proved to be stellar in this anthology and I look forward to more from all three authors.
WILDEST DREAMS is a gem not to be missed

REVIEWED BY: Wayne S. Walker
This book is classified as fantasy fiction. Young Corian (Corey) Griffin's secret life began the day his father refused him a cup of coffee. After his father has to go away for work to save their home from foreclosure, Corey's growing desires draw him again and again to the coiling dragon on his father's green Chinese box to steal money kept there to buy from Mr. Good the ice cream man, which begins to rot his teeth. After a visit to an eccentric dentist, Corey is nearly caught by his mother and is forced to hide in a closet to eat his ice cream and there, through the power of a supernatural Electrolux vacuum cleaner, he falls headlong into book of photographs. In this hidden world, where everything is a living picture, he meets several strange people and encounters some extraordinary events.

Corey and his new friends go into pictures where a great battle occurs, a huge baby is rampaging in a house, and a being called the Wordsmith creates an amazing tree-machine. They are taken by Kosmo and Fern Kreecher to New Dragenstoy for re-education, where the secret is revealed. In another picture Corey sees The Kid (a scapegoat) upon whose head all the bad pictures are placed before it is sent away. The surreal descriptions are apparently intended to appeal to the young people of today, but the allegorical implications are clear. The book is well written, and I found myself drawn into the story with a motivation to keep on reading so that I could find out what was going to happen next. This kind of work may not appeal to some people, but those who like fantasy should appreciate it. I enjoyed it and hope that it will accomplish its purpose.

This is a very good book with funny phrases, good ideas, a clever storyline and a good message. It's a good fantasy book, yet it feels like it could actually happen. I hope it becomes a series. The author is clever in his use of words. He should write and illustrate many more books. I am 11 yrs old and love to read. And I LOVE this book. I recommend it to people (kids and adults) who like fantasy and realistic fiction.

The simplest of things can go and turn one's life completely upside down. "The Wordsmith, the Kid, and the Electrolux" follows Corian Griffin as he embarks on the adventure of his life - and it all started because his father wouldn't give him a cup of coffee. A strange path of dragons, ice cream, and closets doesn't seem to be making things any better! A finely written piece of fantasy, "The Wordsmith, the Kid, and the Electrolux" is highly recommended for community library young adult fiction collections.

I highly recommend this book for teenagers, young adults, and adults. It is a thoroughly Christian allegory in the Reformed Protestant tradition (with an embedded classic Van Tillian apologetic). Once I started reading it, I was gripped by the story and could not put it down. The story biblically deals with the problem of sin, the fight against sin (the old man versus the new man), the blindness of the sinful world, the antithesis between Christian's and the world, and concludes with a highly energized defense of the Christian faith. Excellently written!!

Where do they get the names for these albums? It's a great name and it contains many, many good episodes. We also get to meet Dr. Blackgaard in this album, which may be the highlight of it.

"Daring Deeds, Sinister Schemes" contains a mini-series in itself, which build a foundation for the ultimeate album, "Darkness Before Dawn" (#25) There are also several other stories that lead up to the awesome episode, "Waylaid in the Windy City" This album is definitly worth buying!

This set of six tapes (12 episodes) contains the original Dr. Blackgaard story line. Not all are related to that story arch, however.

It starts with the first IMAGINATION STATION adventure, in which Digger Digger Digwillow goes back in time to experience the death and resurrection of Christ. I'm now 26, have heard the program multiple times, and this simple two parter still moves me to tears.

Other non-Blackgaard episodes include the classic Barclay family vacation in Odyssey (OUR BEST VACATION EVER) and the introduction of Wonderworld in the hilarious HEATWAVE.

The other episodes all revolve around the initial Blackgaard arch. They include A BITE OF APPLESAUCE, EUGENE'S DILEMMA, CONNIE GOES TO CAMP, THE NEMESIS, and THE BATTLE. These last three are two parters. As a whole, these make a great story, but are even more interesting when listened to in relation to later Blackgaard episodes. The summer they first aired, they kept my brother and I glued to the radio wondering what would happen next.

I highly recommend this great collection. It's radio drama at its best: good story telling and great characters.

This book came to me by chance and I had no intention of reading all of it. However, reading one fairy tale led to another and then another. Each story gave me a chuckle and several a hearty laugh. The old fairy tales take on an amazingly fresh feeling with Jasheway's creativity. Her writing makes it clear that she has spent many hours with her canine companions. She writes the bedtime stories with the insight of one who loves her dogs.

I found the book very entertaining and easy to read. At less than 100 pages, you may be tempted to read it at one sitting but if you do you will lose out on days of innocent "feel-good" entertainment.

This would be a great gift for dog lovers of all ages. It is the perfect gift for anyone who needs cheering up, or for yourself - whether you have a dog or not.

What a hoot, sure to keep kids' attention - and yours!

If you have a dog or just love dogs, this re-telling of classic fairy tales using dogs as main characters (dachsunds, chihuahuas, etc) is hilarious and so much fun to read. Saw this one at a friend's house, read it to my kids and knew we HAD to have a permanent copy.

Hilarious and fun!!

"Bedtime Stories for Dogs" is one of the funniest and most CREATIVE books that I have EVER read. It is WONDERFUL for anyone who has a favorite dog and it makes a SUPERB gift. I have several at my house on hand as gifts and have already given many copies to my family and friends.

Leigh Anne Jasheway is a creative GENIUS. I was amazed at her humor and talent as she adapted fairy tales and nursery rhymes to a more "canine perspective." These stories are not "fluff." They show a creative talent that I sincerely hope Jasheway will pursue in additional works. The book is approximately 100 pages and on quality paper.

I sent one copy to my sister who is an executive in Colorado (with two degrees and a Masters). She was laughing so hard that she proceeded to call our mother long-distance and READ her one of the stories over the phone!

Some of the delightful stories include: "The Three Little Pugs," "Snow White and the Seven Chihuahuas," "Goldilocks and the Three Cats," and more. These are tales that will delight not only your pets, but are sure to amuse children and friends.

You will LOVE this book!

hilarious! Good for the whole family, even the humans!

The author used just enough of the word "dog" to keep my dogs' attentions. How much more of these stories they understood is up for debate. Reading these canine versions of fairy tales and nursery rhymes was quality time spent with my dog children

I am big fan of Nikki Leigh's proven skills in guiding writers toward success. Nikki Leigh's Book Promo 101 is an excellent tool that lays out her experience and method of getting an Author's name and literature available and accessible to readers.

I have benefited greatly in my writing career as a result of following Nikki Leigh's advice. If you are a writer who has written a great story that no one knows about, then you have to read this book and learn how to get your story into the hands of the public. I can say from experience, it works.

An author can never get too much information about promotion. Book Promo 101 is a great starter. I can't think of a single aspect of promotion it doesn't address.

As a disclaimer, I didn't feel comfortalbe rating this book because I am quoted in it. I hope authors will forgie me for the indiscretion. I just know that Nikki's experience can make a difference in any author's campaign.

Book Promotion 101, the first in a series from author Nikki Leigh, is clearly a book written by an author with that rare blend of writing talent and keen business savvy. The book starts out by introducing the basics of promotion and tricks to help the reader develop what the author calls the "Marketing Mind" - something that doesn't always come easily for authors. Interspersed with meaty "how to" chapters, are advice from professionals in the world of book promotion, as well as tips and tricks from Muze, her cat and writing companion. Each chapter ends with exercises to reinforce the concepts it introduced and to help you dig deeper in your promotional efforts.

While all that is great, what makes Book Promotion 101 really unique is the depth and breadth of the subject matter covered: when to begin promoting your book, ways to promote through the development and presentation of your book, hiring and working with a publicist (and deciding if you need too!), how to develop a marketing plan, write an effective biography, build a press kit, get press coverage and book reviews, develop a brand and a website that reinforces it, ways to build your credibility as an author and why that's important, and even where to look for markets to sell it. By the time I got to the end, it didn't seem possible that Ms. Leigh could have more tricks up her sleeve. She does promise more, however, and I can't wait to get my hands on the next installment.

This has been a good book. The best part is a chapter on Broken vs Prideful. It goes through 35 areas in 7 different topics comparing a broken heart and a prideful heart. It took me 2 hours and 5 journal pages just to get through that one chapter.

An encouragement to be honest with God and Others

This short book can be read in two hours but its potential benefit to your spiritual condition could last a lifetime. "Brokenness" is the first book of a trilogy (the others are Surrender, and Holiness), but it can stand by itself. In an approach that is non-condemnatory but convicting, Ms. DeMoss has written a wonderful resource that could aid us in challenging a stale faith and encouraging us toward a "brokenness (which) is the pathway to blessing." (p.105). Chapter Four contains a list of characteristics that unveils the traits of proud people in comparison to those of broken people. (I found myself saying "ouch" more than once.) But she rightly observes that the Bible continually points out God's resistance to the proud and His willingness to draw close to the humble. If you want to read a quickly flowing book that will encourage you towards the true joy that results in being honest with God and with others, then I highly recommend this resource as a positive aid toward that end. I found it encouraging, convicting, and personally desirous to be open to whatever God thinks is appropriate for my spiritual condition.

This book is Amazing! A friend recently gave me a copy. This book gives a very clear explaination of what brokenness is, and what it is not. The author also does a compare and contrast between pride and brokenness. This book is very convicting. If you let Him, God can give you a good look into your heart. This happened with me and the results were painful and definitely not pretty. But it was necessary. The author also uses real life examples. Both from her own life and others. Nancy is very honest about her own struggles with brokenness and pride. As you read, you get the feeling that she wrote this book as much for herself, as for others. This book showed me areas of pride that I never realized existed. If you want to remain complacent, don't read this book. This is one of the best books on grace and brokenness that I have ever read. Thank you Nancy!

All I can say is that God moves in a very special way in this book, unlike any other human-authored book I have ever read in my nearly thirty years as a Christian (I'm 37 now). I could write pages of what God did in my life through this book, but the work God does through this is His miracle, and perhaps I should just say that you would be enriched, changed and renewed by taking the time to read it (or as some may say, have it read you~ it's that sort of book). As it was for me, it may just be the "key" you're looking for in your quest to follow Christ, and help you work past issues of the heart you've struggled with for many years. Just know, you will never be the same...

Every Christian should read this book. Every Pastor should read this book. This is where we need to be. We have to die to ourselves and our wills if Christ is going to live His life through us. Psalm 51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.
