Child Star is a beautifully illustrated, uplifting story about a little star that could. The illustrations, based on the author's own art (the book was published post-humously), transport the reader to a land where dreams do come true, with a little nurturance.

This book is great for kids. I liked the easy, anyone can use, hints for young gardeners. Leigh is a charming gardener.

Yup! all the evidence points to the journalist, Max Travis as the kill of Mr. Werner. Max was keeping one step ahead of the police.

His one chance was using Senator William Parker's daughter to prove his innocense. She was terrified when the Santa pocked a gun in her back and kidnapped her. She had to know what the Senator was up to.

The only thing that Jade Parker found encouraging was that her kidnapper treated her with care. But she would not believe that her father has done anything wrong. She made the mistake of stabbing Max with a fork and got handcuffed for her troubles.

Max was keeping in contact with his friend Peter Shelby and an agent, Bilick of the FBI but could Bilick be trusted?

And what was the Senator doing on the yacht, the "Irish Mist" on Jade's birthday, when he always spent it with her?

Jade slowly decided she could trust Max when they got cornered by Joseph Retik, a killer, and the man knew her name. Someone was definitely after her. That's when Max got shot. It changed her whole outlook.

The "Irish Mist" was almost their undoing.
The plot was great if a little obscure - the action was fast moving - the characters were excellent - well worth reading.

Definitely Recommended --M you may consider this a keeper.

I just earned my real estate sales agent certification in New York state, and I found this book to be EXTREMELY helpful! The agents and brokers in my office are always too busy to show me the ropes, so I decided to teach myself. This was the best resource for me on all aspects of real estate sales, and it was very easy to read and understand. Many of the scenarios discessed here haven't come up for me yet, but I know that when I try to close a tough deal, I'll turn back to this book again and again.

Includes info. on the history of social change, what it means to be empowered, and instructs youth on how to organize, fundraise, and get media attention for the issue they are focusing on.

This is the most amazing tape! We had twins that were extremely colicky. If they wouldn't stop crying we put this tape in and within minutes they were quiet and fell asleep. It is a miracle cure for colic. We highly recommend this tape for all new parents!

This 1973 hard cover book was originally published in 1923, and seems to have been reissued as a paperback in 2006. No wonder! It is full of photos showing both entire room and closeup views of especially beautiful or exceptionally fine details from some of America's authentic Colonial homes.

Photos show wonderful architectural features like soffit molding, panneling, columns, fireplaces mantels, windows, doors and stairways, along with gorgeous furnishings and all kinds of candelabras, pottery, dishes, bedwarmers, plus everyday tools (now antique accessories) used by early American homemakers. It shows how paintings were hung on the walls and how the various items were arranged in the rooms.

The black and white photos in this picture book are of homes that range from rustic to neo-classical in all their elegant and honest splendor.

I read this in 1997, but am just now realizing I never reviewed it.

It is beyond my imagination that anyone would not be riveted by this book. It traces the 19th and early 20th cent. evolution of a number of holidays with churchly roots that were co-opted by Hallmark and the dept. stores, often with the zealous cooperation of hapless Christians. Schmidt can tell a story with balance, accuracy, humor, and action.
