Jeff laid out what all of us experience when we open up our hearts and minds to spirituality. The word "open" is the key. Through detailing his own journey into spiritual realization, he allows us to view our journey - as they are one. This is not necessarily in the details, but in the expansion of consciousness. Jeff is giving guidance to those begining down the path, but also enlightens those of us who already feel centered in our spirit. Around this framework he provides passages from other writers who have inspired us. This is not just a primer - but a well thumbed through staple of my bookshelf.

If it were possible to place the basic concepts of spirituality in a nutshell, this book does it! Spirituality Simplified gives you all the necessary tools to help you embark on a journey and/or path towards a higher level of self-awareness and self-love. I have been on that journey for almost ten years myself and it was good to go back to the basics because during this journey your are constantly working to stay in the moment, step outside yourself and look at what's happening. This book reminded me of that! It's a great read!

A "Keeper" for your "spirituality reference shelf"

I read and circulate all of my spirituality books so that they continue living and don't die on my bookshelf. Instead of circulating this one, I bought a copy for me and for each of my dear friends (my sister bought one for each of our family members).

It's a "must have" for those on a spiritual journey. The author does a fabulous job of giving you a "taste" of all areas that you should be "sure to explore" on your journey while giving you plenty to appease your appetite if you choose to stop here.

This would be a PERFECT first book to start your spirituality journey, but it's about my 50th book (at least) and I still had many awakenings in different areas of my life.

Enjoy! :-)

"Spirituality Simplified" is a wonderful book! I am relatively new to the "spiritual path" and was excited to read about these basic spiritual principles in such an organized and easy-to-understand format. Like the author, I was raised Catholic and have since left traditional religion behind. Jeff Maziarek has done a superb job relaying information in a down-to-earth manner. He uses examples of his personal challenges and successes to reiterate important principles. He even references classic rock song lyrics to provoke further thought.

This book is valuable to me because like the cover says, it is "A Handy Reference Guide". Before reading this book, I was already familiar with authors such as Eckhart Tolle and Neale Donald Walsch. Jeff Maziarek introduced me to many other authors and resources that I am now going to explore. I like having "Spirituality Simplified" on my bookshelf because I can turn to it to get a refresher on a specific principle.

I strongly recommend this book to anyone on a spiritual quest. Reading this book will provide you with confidence that you are on the right path!

Jacky Faber, fresh off a very famous whaling ship, goes to meet her beloved Jaimy, but sees him with another woman. Jumping to conclusions, she runs off and suddenly finds herself pressed back into the King's service aboard a ship under a cruel and mad captain that threatens Jacky's honor. Jacky's wit and sea knowledge and ability to gain the respect and admiration of her fellow seamen soon causes her to become captain of the ship. Jacky's adventures take her on a dangerous journey, dealing with spies and even a price on her head for piracy. Jacky, as always, must deal with being a woman in a world that grants her very little respect, freedom, or power, but constantly threatens her. It is an older, wiser, wilder, and more hardened and lonely Jacky that we meet in this book, as she has been burned in love, swears off all men, but surrounds herself with them. But it is still the wonderfully complex, strong, fierce heroine that we all love and admire. This book is one of the strongest in a perfect series full of high adventure, complex and loveable characters, and a detailed and beautiful historical landscape. Jacky's wonderful voice and the author's daring, unabashed look at her world and her dangers makes this a fantastic read for adults as well as older teenagers. Grade: A+

This novel is the best that i have read so far.

When i first read the Curse of the Blue Tatto, I thought it was going to be one of those books where you had to put it down every 5 seconds so you don't die from boredom. But it was just the oppsite and for the Jolly Roger one it was even better. It had action through out the book and was really interesting. I especially liked the part where they had the big war. It was kind of like the last part of the movie "Pirates of the Caribbean 3' but better. The English slangs were sometimes annoying but it really gave me an idea of how Jacky talked.

I have to say this on had a lot of adult content thingys then the other ones but oh well it's still good

Under the Jolly Roger is my favorite bloody jack book yet! It has pirate adventure, romance and everything else a good adventure needs to have. The plot is she leaves Boston and goes to find her love Jaimy. When she finds him he is with some other girl. Then she gets taken by a naval press gain. The next thing that she knows the captain of the wolverine wants her in his bed! She goes and does what she does best; get in trouble and this time with all of England!

It's a fun fast paced book that I could not get my nose out of. I have read all of the Bloody Jack books and this one by far is the best. I can't wait for the 6th book to come out in September. If you are looking for a good pirate books then I would defiantly put this on you list!

Under the Jolly Roger was the third in the series of the adventures of Jacky Faber, authored by L.A.Meyer. I'm looking forward to reading the remaining books in Mr. Meyer's series. Although these books are recommended for young adults, as a "senior citizen", I have been pleasantly pleased with the three books I have read in this series. I enjoy historical fiction, and learned much about sailing in Europe in the early 1800's. The author certainly imparts a good sense of humor in his main character, Jacky Faber. As long as Mr.Meyer continues writing new novels in this series, I will definitely continue reading these delightful adventures of Jacky Faber.

CRITICAL Reading for ALL Christians...it changes History!!
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 0 total.
Review Date: 2008-08-26
This book may be one of the MOST vital books written in centuries.
The author has taken extensive time and intellect to research and compile critical evidence that the Book of Revelation was written about 65A.D. instead of the widely accepted date of 90A.D. by John.
The Revelation was a book of warning that added to the Olivet Discourse by Jesus in Matt. 24 in which the Jewish Believers were warned to flee the city of Jerusalem when they saw the "signs" appearing. Josephus, the Jewish eyewitness of those event, records some of those signs in the Jewish Wars (Book 6, chapter 5). Jesus told the people that the "end of the age" (i.e. the Old Covenant) would end with the destruction of the Holy City. He told them to flee, and Eusebius reports that not one of those Believers died because they followed the instructions of Jesus (which he told them about 40 years before Jerusalem was destroyed by the Roman Army.
Christianity today is riddled with misguided theology that is based on Revelation being a book that was written AFTER the fall of Jerusalem. With such incorrect dating, the Revelation becomes a book of historical extrapolation that defies the mind, logic and reason.
This book gives clear, concise EVIDENCE that Revelation is a book of Prophecy written in the Apocalyptic style (which the Jewish people did understand over centuries of time). The metaphorical and radical style of writing was very much in tune with the "signs and wonders" that Jesus spoke of in the Olivet Discourse of Matt. 24 and following.
Every Christian who believes in the Dispensational view (which was started in 1840 by one man) should receive enlightenment by this fantastic book which has never been held up to any ridicule in over 10 years since its publication.
As a Biblical student with more than 40 years of study in the Revelation, I can readily testify that this is one of the most vital books ever written. It has the realistic power to expose major mistakes in modern theology.
This book will rank alongside Dr. John Noe and his expose on the historical evidence that bears the truth about God's Word that has been desperately mishandled by misguided human agents of falsehood.
The book End Times Madness also shed the same light on the real truth of prophecy.
Cudos to this author for "rightly dividing the Word of Truth"!!

Whether you agree with preterism or not, this book is a wonderful addition to any Christian's library. This book carefully examines all of the arguments and assumptions of a late date for the orginal manuscript for John's apocolypse and shows the strength of early date arguments.

Complete and Convincing

Review Date: 2008-06-03
This book is a gem of scholarly research. When all the data is pieced together the preterist eschatology is quite compelling. Gentry respectfully reviews the arguments from the late-date scholars and shows that most (but not all) of the evidence comes down to one quotation of Irenaeus. Then Gentry pieces all of Revelation's internal evidence together with the historical record to provide a very convincing case for the a pre-A.D 70 date. When everything comes together, the book of Revelation is far less mysterious. The preterist viewpoint also resolves many problematic prophetic verses from Daniel and the Olivet Discourse.

An excellent defense of a minority view

Review Date: 2008-02-16
This book is an excellent defense of a view held by the minority. The book is thoroughly researched and the ideas are fully discussed. The level of detail in this book might bore some of the readers.

Ken Gentry uses internal evidence from the Bible and external evidence to make his case. This is unlike many of those who hold to a late date for Revelation but use mostly external evidence to defend it.

For those people who want a thorough defense of the early date of Revelation, this is an excellent choice. Those who do not wish to wade through such an academic book might wish to look at another of Gentry's books, The Beast of Revelation. This book finishes with a condensed version of the arguments in Before Jerusalem Fell.

Albom's look at the best group of freshmen ever assembled on one college basketball team is pure fun. Due to the resulting financial scandals, sadly, the amazing athletic accomplishments of this group has been demeaned and diminished. They were trend-setters in so many ways, and will always hold a unique place in the world of college sports.

I'm not really bothered that Mitch apparently missed all of the under-the-table deals. Going into that aspect of the Fab Five would have required a completely different focus for the book -- a much less appealing one. So, outstanding college athletes get paid by boosters -- is this really a surprise to anyone?

Highly recommended.

With all the kids going to the pros now this book just gets more and more interesting. College hoops may never be the same as it was when the fab five were together. Although it may be wrong to say they were the reason for so many changes, they were certainly style agents of the nth degree. No doubt about the power of youth and potential and Albom captures all of it with a lot of excitement and enjoyment.

This book is excellent by far. I read this book whenever I'm bored, and it still excites me to this day. I can just flashback and remember what I was doing during the time the Fab Five was wrecking havoc on the college hardwoods. I still believe dat dis book is the greatest book Mitch Albom has ever written. He's already my favorite sports columnist in the world. Just like another person typed, if you love basketball buy this book. If you don't still buy this book, because you will grow to love college basketball.

This is an amazing in-depth look at the most popular and ballyhooed basketball team ever, Michigan's Fab Five. As a huge maize-and-blue fan I have read this masterpiece countless times but it shows all the details of running a major basketball program, the troubles that Steve Fisher had to deal with, and talks about the complex lives that Chris Webber, Jalen Rose, Juwan Howard, Jimmy King, and Ray Jackson led and lead. Pickthis one up now.

Fabulous Five Freshmen

Review Date: 2006-04-09
"What scares you Jalen? Death, said Jalen,... because I can't imagine a world without me in it." The cockiness that was the Fab Five is captured perfectly by Mitch Albom in his book the Fab Five; Basketball, Trash Talk and the American Dream. Like Albom's other books Tuesdays with Morrie and 5 People You Meet in Heaven, his story telling engulfs the reader and transforms a normal story into a legendary tale. Albom recognizes the important interaction between people in their actions and conversations and captures that in his writing. This story, the Fab Five, was a great book and one of the best for any sports fan. The "Greatest Class Ever Recruited", as Albom called them, is a great story that is told from behind the scenes, during the Fab Five's historic career at the University of Michigan. The Fab Five by Albom is the finest sports book because Albom's humorous and stylish writing brings to life the events surrounding five freshmen that transformed college basketball.
The Fab Five is a book about Chris Webber, Jalen Rose, Juwan Howard, Jimmy King and Ray Jackson, the fabulous five freshmen at the University of Michigan. A group assembled in many different ways, each contributing a unique story to what brought them to Ann Arbor. Albom takes his first few chapters describing the intricate lines that connected each player to Ann Arbor. Jalen and Chris were from Detroit and went to UofM because they were always best friends. Ray Jackson and Jimmy King are from Texas. Ray Jackson was noticed accidentally while scouts were in Texas recruiting other players. For Jimmy King, he came to UofM because Juwan Howard, his roommate on a recruiting trip, was going. And to put it all together, Juwan became a Michigan Wolverine because his recently diseased grandmother wanted him to go to UofM. Together they became the Fab Five and marched their way on campus and took the college basketball world by storm making it to back-to-back NCAA men's national championship appearances.
The caliber of talent that sounds this book is one for the history books. However, the Fab Five would not be the book it was without the writing and story telling ability of Mitch Albom. Albom has been voted the number one sports writer an unprecedented seven times by the Associated Press Sports Editors. He has hosted a TV show on ESPN and written many famous books as well as a sports column for the "Detroit Free Press". His ability to touch every reader regardless of background is rare. He makes people cry reading Tuesdays with Morrie and people stand up in cheer for the `91 Michigan basketball team in the Fab Five. Undoubtedly, Albom is one of the best writers in American and is writing about one of the best sports teams America has ever witnessed.
Albom accurately describes the sequence of events leading five high school seniors to main-stream college freshman superstars. But one of the things that makes this story one for the ages is that while on many teams today it is rare to see two freshmen starting a game, in 1991 the Fab Five were five freshman players who all started on a team that made it to the NCAA men's Championship basketball game. Having five freshman start a national championship game is unheard of and still to this day, unmatched. Albom predicts, "There will never be another group like the Fab Five." Through what brought them to Michigan, through every behind the scenes event, through every exciting and electrifying game, this book comes to life in front of the readers' eyes. As the book progresses the plot thickens for these young athletes as if Albom himself wrote the story. Every big game and tournament game was commentated as if live from the radio. Albom writes, "And with 21 seconds left, Michigan lead by just a basket, 71-69. `No three-point-shots,' fisher yelled." The games brought a sense of involvement for the reader taking them back in time to the game. With writing style that is clear and descriptive, and while combined with the dazzling games provided by the Michigan Basketball team, this leads to a suspenseful, well illustrated book that makes the heart pump and adrenaline rush. While watching the suspenseful games, Albom knew greatness at the very moment it happened and was there to preserve ever moment of history in his book; a book about kids who became "The Greatest Class Ever Recruited."
They had become the most popular names and faces in college basketball. In Ann Arbor, they sold jerseys and shorts for a hundred and fifty dollars total; "They sold out in a heartbeat," Albom wrote. Stories like these make this book different than any other sports book, a book written while the events occurred with detailed stories nobody else could get. He also wrote about that one game they all walked onto the court with their fashionably baggy shorts, black socks and black shoes revolutionizing college basketball, and he was there to catch every story and detail. Black socks, black shoes and baggy shorts all surprised people watching college basketball. Later looking back, people would contribute these five freshmen as revolutionizing basketball and creating its image today. Albom knew this and felt it was necessary to capture their uniqueness in this book. Mitch Albom, like the rest of the world knew greatness while it was happening and the passion and enthusiasm that he wrote with to illustrate that greatness he was witnessing is another example of why this book is so fabulous.
Albom also included inside stories, taking the reader to a place only a few were able to see. Inside the games, inside the practices and inside the family that was the Fab Five. When Jalen walked in the first day as a freshman and announced, "Freshmen verse ya'll," everyone in the gym was stunned. Where most freshmen come in to find themselves at the bottom of the barrel, these freshmen came in and ran right to the top. After saying, "Freshmen verse ya'll," the five freshman went on to win three scrimmages against the upper classmen. Albom wrote, "The Fab Five has been born." While many people could watch the televised games and see for themselves the spectacle surrounding these freshmen, he took this audience backstage and incorporated these stories that give the reader more than they could otherwise see. Stories about crazy pranks to trash talking rants and bizarre interviews to the baggy shorts and black socks and shoes, is why Fab Five gives the reader more than a sports book. It gives the reader a legendary, and even though no previous knowledge is necessary a substantial amount of time is essential because putting the book down once the readers starts if difficult.
The Fab Five is a humorous, entertaining and well written book, but furthermore, it is an inside look at one of the greatest college basketball stories. Mitch Albom, as one of America's most heralded writers, gives one of his best writing performances for his perfectly illustrated, historical tale of "The Greatest Recruiting Class Ever." He captivated my attention and sparked my interest in Michigan Basketball because of his urban style humor and story telling ability. While most other historical accounts tend to be boring, Mitch Albom captivates his readers and provides one of the best books about sports; a must read for any sports fan. Albom quoted Jalen Rose, "they'll be talking about us for 20 years." This is true about the Fab Five and the Fab Five will be talked about for many years to come

This book is a real labor of love. Dr. Dusleag tells the story of his grandfather and the persecution he endured. Dr. Stroia overcame his horrible experiences and left a legacy behind in the journal that he kept, at great risk to his physical well being and that of his family. His grandson followed in his footsteps by visiting the sites mentioned in the journal, taking pictures and documenting his research. He used the journal as well as his memories of his grandfather to inspire his own life. This is a very good book indeed and I highly recommend it to anyone, but particularly to those with an interest in history.

Stanciu Stroia's memoirs are very important to all of us, because they help us understand what went on in Romania and throughout Eastern Europe before 1945, and what followed the fall of Communism in 1989. The book's web site [...] in itself is a valuable document.

A Doctor's Compassion

Review Date: 2006-07-02
I've read several books by political prisoners of the Romanian regime. This one does not discuss as much the details of the physical horrors of the prisons. The concept of a person being visited by the securitate late at night, put into prison for years, and familial contacts severed, is horrible enough. This story is told by a doctor, who by very nature is compassionate and sworn by oath to heal others. Dr. Stroia lived by that oath. In the book he mentions a prison doctor who "prescribed" that his patient throw himself onto the barbed wire as a cure for depression. The patient followed his doctor's orders and was shot. Dr. Stroia's humanity not only remained intact, but it grew. His "second university" tore a giant chasm in his life, but his inner strength carried him through.

This story is extremely important today, helping us to understand more about what happened in Eastern Europe and why there is still much of a struggle there since 1989. I think in the US we have tended to think "Oh good! Communism has toppled and everything will be just fine." The scars of a monstrous regime run deep and don't go away easily. We also must look at ourselves to make sure that we don't create a system that is not accountable to the people it governs. This exceptional story shows us that pride, integrity, and compassion are necessary to carry us through evil times and leave us intact on the other side. I highly recommend this very readable addition to the literature on Romania's modern history.

I cannot even imagine...

The book was exceptional in its treatment of how life in a Romanian communist prison must have felt on a personal level. It seemed as if Dr. Stroia was speaking directly to me (and all readers) personally through his grandson, telling me something about what that life was like for these prisoners. I cannot even imagine, however, what life must have been like for him as each of the things he did mention must have been repeated so many more times than he recalled, over and over again, day in and day out, for seven long years!

Without dwelling on the cruelty of the prison guards, he managed to give me enough of an idea to read between the lines of the events he chose to include in his journal (and in the book). I am not ashamed to admit that I cried at times while reading his story ... especially whenever he got his hopes up, only to be shattered by his oppressors ... or to hear how little they cared about his health. Imagine a doctor, knowing what was happening internally, and being unable to do anything to stop his slow deterioration through continued scurvy and hypertension.

His was a gentle, quiet condemnation of what some human beings are willing to force another human to endure ... and also a loud voice proclaiming the human spirit of this man to endure and overcome an adversity that was forced upon him without justification! He and others like him are the true heroes ... in every sense of the word! I can only wish I had known Dr. Stroia in real life ... he'd have so many things to teach me, I'm sure, about living.

A wonderful book and one that I'd recommend to anyone!

I have read My Second University, which told the story of a man with strength of character that all of us should strive to achieve. As a doctor he was taught "to do no harm". Whether he was born with that humane instinct or acquired it after medical training is not important. What is important is how noble a man can remain after a period of harsh confinement. His life is a testament to our best possible behavior that few of us live up to. Not only did he defeat his enemies in his life time, he also left a legacy for his grandson to emulate. What more could a grandfather do for his grandson? From a man whose life has been enriched by reading about a human being of regal character,

I liked the author's approach to soapmaking. She keeps it simple, but without discounting the safety measures necessary. I was able to read the book in one sitting and could understand it easily. Great for someone just starting out in soapmaking!

Now were cookin! Great book for the beginner, and great for brushing up for the intermediate and so on. I would recommend this to those who want to give it a whirl. When you read this book you won't want to put it down until you've gone through the entire book. This book gets you all geared up and ready to go. You can use some of her ideas or stick to your own on preparations but at least you won't be scared that something may go wrong or worse yet blow up in your face. You will not be intimidated on soapmaking with this book you will be excited. So buy it, read it and get in your kitchen and start making soap. If and when she puts out another book I will be buying it. Good Luck.

Smart Soapmaking is far and away the best book on making soap at home. I have several other books on the subject which, for me, are far too complicated and scientific. They make the process seem far too daunting, to the point where you give up before you start. Anne Watson has thoroughly explained everything in simple yet practical terms and has taken away completely the fear factor. Her book makes you anxious to get started where the other books might discourage you. I cannot recommend more highly this book. I will never look at my other books on this subject again, no need to. This book is simply the best, better than all the rest!

Fantastic!

I'm new to soapmaking and decided to take the plunge as soon as I received my book. I decided to make Anne's Shea Butter Supreme (page 35) - Oh my! It turned out and it's lovely to use. I can't believe I can make my very own soap. This book is very informative and easy to understand. I highly recommend this book for beginners.
Anne, you are a genius - thank you! : )

I was enthrilled at the body of this remarkable work. I am an advent reader of non-fiction books, but I found this novel to sway me into reading it - even if it was just the first chapter or two. Well, I couldn't put it down until the end! I twisted along with the story in the book and my emotions were charged. What a touching story and what an imaginable way to bring people together again after so much turmoil in their young lives. I found this to be especially touching. I applaud the author for his understanding of faith and displaying the importance of maintaining faith even in the most dire circumstances.

Wonderfully fulfilling...

I liked this book a whole lot. I was fascinated with the language and the story. I looked for a book like this for a long time that describes how someone would handle their faith in bad situations and I believe I found it. The author did a fantastic job in illuminating this idea.

Outstanding literary work!

This book was very entertaining and knowledgeable. The narration was the best I've read in a long time. This book made quite a bit of sense and purpose as I read on. I was very much interested in how Paula would turn out. I cringe when I hear husbands beating up their wives but it does happen. I wasn't sure if she was going to take him out herself and just deal with the consequences. This book showed me the people in your life do make a difference when you come to a fork in the road and you're trying to decide which path to walk on. Obviously, everyone does not hold the same views and opinions. I think Tima and Katen presented to Paula those different views that helped get her life back together again...somewhat. Her friends were always there for her but it wasn't much they could do. She had to do it herself if it was to have any meaning. I really got emotional with this book. This is one of the great reads I've had this year.

Very Nice reading...

My heart felt warm after reading Mr. White's book. This was a very inspirational story. I was hoping that somehow everything in Paula's life would come together. I can sympathize with how she felt through her ordeal and why she needed to do some of the things she did. The writing is very different to most books I've read but, that's what made this book very exciting to read. I think this is a good book written especially for people who are trying to find their way in life, when every road seems to have a big gigantic boulder in the way.

My heart was touched immensely!

A Witness to Faith is a very enjoyable book, cleverly written with many metaphors and sybolism. It addresses many issues in society as a whole and I was captured by it's openenss and candidness. Insightful and thought-provoking are the words that immediately come to mind. I would like to believe that faith is key to overcoming many problems but, I'm not sure what faith is. This book helped me to understand it through people's situations they encounter in life. I was particularly touched with Jeanne's story the most. She exemplified faith in her actions. Paula showed it in a different way but, she also overcame a lot of mental and physical abuse.

Mr. White paints a beautiful picture that develops over time until it culminates in the end. I have catholic interests whn it comes to the type of books I read, but this one caught my eye and has stayed in my heart since I read it.

This bible has most of the study tools I was looking for without being too massive to carry. The cover is a little thin. The design with the seam stitching on the front makes a natural crease that I hope won't crease permanently over time

Just as I expected this bible has everything you need to go deepere i nto the word. I only have found that it is not so easy to locate the related comments because it is really packed and dense, so it seems to me that there is that little one detail. Beside my previous comment I am enjoying and savioring the Lord while I go into what he has to say.
Each section and add-on is well suited for th epurspose of bible study and I strongly recommend it if you are serious about studying God's word.

The notes in this bible bring attention to things I've not paid much attention to before. I've seen passages I've read many times in an entirely new light. It gives my brain plenty of food for thought without telling me how to believe. As a Sunday School teacher it has given me more material to add substance to my children's lesson books and tidbits of information that capture their attention. I recommend it for anyone who teaches others or has a desire to learn for themselves. Those just beginning and veteran bible learners alike should find it informative and eye-opening.

It is an honor to be a part of the company Art Williams started. There has never been a dull day or wasted moment listening to Art, reading his books, and working his message. It is all I can do.

Truthful Lessons On Success.

Review Date: 2007-10-12
I loved this book, and I constantly refer to it when I go about my day.

What I love about it is that it's written by somebody who's done it, and it doesn't sugar coat what it takes to be a success. Because Art's ~560th richest person, he doesn't have ulterior motives for writing this book, as some other motivational gurus do (ie buy their audio CD's & DVDs and go to their seminars for $3000 a pop).

Art doesn't lie.

It takes a ton of will and determination & positive attitude to do what he's done. It takes a lot of hard work to succeed. It's sad to see people today constantly chasing after the next quick fix, the next scheme that promises them a million bucks in 30 days. Because it won't happen. As Art says, nothing worthwhile comes easy. If you want success in your life, you've got to work hard at it, you've got to be positive no matter what hits the fan, you've got to believe in yourself & what you're doing.

Art doesn't just pay lip service to this information - he's lived by it & is a billionaire because of it. Go figure.

So get this book and you'll get no-nonsense advice on getting successful. This isn't fluff he's got from pulling advice from self help books - this is advice he's giving from his 20 odd years of being in the trenches, fighting an industry that spent millions trying to put him out of business.

As they say, you'll never truly know what it's like being in war until you've been out in the battlefield. This guy's been there, done that, and now he's going to share with you his advice.

This book flew below the radar for some reason, and is abit of a sleeper when it comes to universal popularity.
It is a personal favorite of mine.
This guy walks the walk as well as talking. He is not an ATNA. (All Talk and No Action). He's got the stats to back up his crusade. Guys like him, and say, Guiness Bk #1 Salesman Joe Girard, are the real deal.

Great motivator written by a great motivator!

A. L. Williams was a football coach... a man who loved his guys and pushed them to excel in life. And he lived what he preached! You want to be inspired to just DO IT? Get this book.

Williams emphasizes that you have to work hard and be PERSISTENT. Just NEVER, EVER quit. And that's the key. Know what you want, DESIRE it and go for it. Don't let anybody steal your dream. Just do it and hang in there.

He talks about how he got MAD at the rip-off insurance companies, and that anger fueled his drive to excel. He and his friends became tough and tenacious and made things work. Again, that's the key. What a book! Get a copy and mark it up. Read it repeatedly and it'll fire up your soul!

Read this book years ago when it came out and read it regularly for motivation and inspiration. AL Williams went out and did what so many of us want to do and talk about doing. This book takes you through the steps of making a difference from his high school coaching days to his motivation to help others and driving incredible change in the insurance world. Great great book and a must read if you want to know how one man achieved success beyond his wildest dreams and than anyone else thought he could do.

Decorative Artist Curtis L. Heuser will take you on a true-to-life journey of his purchase of a forgotten historic house in disrepair to it's reclaimed glory. A chance meeting between Curtis and the art director for the book's publisher resulted in this journey being documented for the benefit of creative thinkers everywhere. Where to begin? Curtis allows us to enter his creative thinking process as he provides the reader with his inspirations, initial preparatory drawings, as well as tips and tricks, materials lists and instructions for executing many of the exciting painted and plaster finishes that he used in this stunning home. He allows the reader generous access to this handsome home and to all of the secrets of it's restored beauty. This is a delilghtful and beautiful book for artists or those of us who appreciate others' talent. Curtis has created a labor of love first in his home and then in his book. I was fortunate enough to tour the finished product and it is truly gorgeous. I'm able to relive the experience by revisiting his book from time to time. This book is a winner on all counts.

I love reading what people have to say about things I KNOW so well. lol I am very fortunate to have a Curtis Heuser mural in my home and when guest see it, they speak of my home to others as a mansion, not a house. Curt is a would class artist, however, this book gets criticized in some reviews because it is not JUST about murals. Please be thankful about that folks. A mural does personalize a space and add an art feature to a home but Curt then teaches how to complete the picture by showing you how to decorate the space. Curt does not say, "Give me a boat load of money and i'll transform your home", he tells you how to make your house a mansion. I, like Curt, came from very humble beginnings and he has taught me how to live like a king, or at least look like on a shoe string budget. He teaches how to select great paint colors, fabrics, and decorative pieces you can pick up at discount stores or antique shows. People come to my house and look at things I have picked up and marvel at their beauty and I smile knowing that the item might have been $9.00 and I bought it because I loved it. I didn't have to pay a decorator a commission on something purchased form a store that already has it marked up. Please enjoy Curts gift for making your house a home from mural work, faux finishes, collections that you purchase from Goodwill to antique shows. However, having said all this, my best purchase was the mural in my dining room. Check it out on HGTV website, episode 508 on the show Before and After. I hope there will be many more books from this man. He has the gift to create world class spaces. I wish all of you could have your own Heuser mural. His portfolio is amazing.

YOUR HOME,A LIVING CANVAS sits on my living room coffee table and everyone who sees it wants one. Curtis Heuser's work is stunning and his directions for achieving beautiful results in your own home are clear and accessible. This book is head and shoulders above any others that I have read on faux finishes and/or murals. For just browsing for aesthetic pleasure or for guidance in undertaking major artistic redecoration, YOUR HOME is the book to own; the perfect gift to give or to receive.
