King Books

I must Say, that this book is among my "most used" books. I read it often because it holds so very many Answers to things that I question, or have that troubles me, or a dear friend, or my Son.
The "healing" procedures Absolutely WORK (for me). They have, on several occassions that I would have had to "have stiches", otherwise!
Also, the connections it "opens up" with other beings (and matter) and their Energies, on this Planet, and beyond, are nothing short of Fantastic. You will surely notice a stronger connection with all Animals as a result of reading this book.
I "Identify" with the "Merlin Falcoln", on the cover of the book. I see one "visit", flying above my head, or my car, or nearby, just "watching" me. ....Life is so Incredible!

This is an amazing little book by an amazing man. I found much in it that felt utterly familiar, and many new wonderful things which I'm pondering, trying, and incorporating into my daily shamanic practices. Some of them I'd already been doing, or had been heading that direction anyway. The teachings and methods described here go hand in hand with much Celtic shamanic practices and teachings that I've been reading elsewhere. Subtle, and an alternative to improperly coopting Native American spirituality practices.

Urban Shaman is a great book with a lot of very interesting, effective techniques. I have applied several of the techniques contained within this book to my life and have been surprised at just how truly effective this stuff is.

The seven laws as taught in this book as well as some of the exercises are very useful to know...and very effective when used.

Anyone can take something useful from this book if they actually apply the techniques before judging their worth. This book is a definite must read for anyone who is interested in a spiritual approach to improving their life.

The author is a shaman and huna philosopher.

Huna is an ancient philosophy going back 2,000 years, and contains many self realization techniques, including the unification of the three selves, removing emotional blocks and fears, and manifesting your goals. There is also an energy practice which uses the power of focus.

This book goes through the 7 rules of the Huna Philosophy, explaining them in some detail. It is an ancient belief system, and also an amazing self improvement system which I wholeheartedly recommend.

The world is what you think it is i.e there is no reality only perception. There are no limits. Energy flows where attention goes are three of the rules.

There are many self help books out there which focus on individual concepts, which seem new, yet are all contained within this philosophy, which is over 2,000 years old. I am thinking of books such as the Power of Intention, and the Power of Now, Unlimited power.

In addition the concepts of the conscious, subconscious, and superconscious or universal mind, have been around for thousands of years, yet only since the early 1900s with the writings of those such as Carl Jung have these ideas become more widely accepted.

This philosophy does enable you to combine your three selves, and clear emotional blocks and limiting beliefs for improved effectiveness.

There are excellent healing practices and visualizations within this book. Many of our illnesses spring from our unresolved emotions, whereas much of western medicine treats the symptom not the cause. I believe energy practice is very important for focus, as energy flows where attention goes.

Many other philosophies share common roots with this one. One of the main differences is this a can do not a can't do philosophy. To use one of the beliefs, there are no limits. If you buy this book your journey is only beginning because you will want to learn more.

Useful practice for modern shaman students and those seeking ways of exploring new ways of being.

Mr. Cattie has written a very good book here! I really liked his story, the people in the story, and the fact that I couldn't put the book down! I read it in three days, and I'm not a big reader! I'm a ninth grade student, and if more summer reading choices were like "Ard Righ," I would be reading all the time! Plus, it makes me want to try writing now!

I've read just about every Arthurian novel written. This version has new twists on old traditions. Overall, it was a great storyline. However, the glaring typos drove me crazy and at times were extremely distracting and disruptive to the story. Mixing synonyms hear for here was particularly maddening. Also, the use of though instead of thought was also rampant in the novel.

It would have been a much more enjoyable read if these and many other typos were not in the book! The story and the characters deserved correct grammar and spelling! It's a shame as I would have rated this novel much higher if the errors didn't detract from the excellent tale of King Arthur told a little differently.

Kudos to Ray Cattie on penning a very good summer read! ARD RIGH: THE SWORD ON THE STONE is the a fast-paced story of King Arthur, telling the story of the true person who might have actually been King Arthur! Cattie uses his historical facts well, blending them with the elements that we King Arthur fans already know, creating a new and unique look at this famous founder of the Knights of the Round Table!

Great scene: Arthur's brother Cai returns to Caerleon (Camelot) with the heads of Arthur's father and brothers tied to his saddle horn-- right in the middle of Arthur and Gwenhwyfar's (Guinivere's) wedding-- Lot's bloody answer to Arthur's call to fealty!

Cattie asks "what if," and the answer, ARD RIGH: THE SWORD ON THE STONE, is a worthy read!

This book explores from a slightly different angle the story of King Arthur. The storyline is both readily familiar, yet new. Cattie's deviations from the traditional Arthur into the historical Arthur give his work a strikingly fresh feel, casting old characters in occasionally new roles while still largely following the legend. The writing is crisp, fascinating, and infused with its own magic. It is a definite page-turner, and certainly a must-read for anyone interested in the Arthurian legends. I see Cattie as an up-and-coming force in the literary world.

Ambrosius, the High King of Briton, has ruled strongly and well for many years. But now he is dying. His dream and hope for a peaceful kingdom, The Kingdom of the Summer Lands, is slipping away. He is afraid the world may never see what he envisions. Myrrdin (Merlin), his most trusted advisor and dear friend, promises to find a way to keep the possibility of Ambrosius' dream alive. He magically locks Ambrosius' sword, Caladfwlch, in stone. A stone that is rumored to be haunted by the ghosts of sacrifice. Whoever can remove the sword from the stone will be the true Ard Righ, High King of Briton, High King of the Summer Lands. And so it begins.

Myrrdin is advisor to the High King through the reign of Vortigen. Myrrdin senses Vortigen is not the man he seeks. It is in his blood but not his head or his heart. But Vortigen's sister, Ygraine, has possibilities. Perhaps a child of Ygraine's might be the answer. But Myrrdin has to wait for the right time and place.

Vortigen's reign shortly gives way to the reign of Uther. Uther is not quite right either, but Myrrdin has a plan. He sees how the job could be done. All it needs is a little careful planning, a little timing and a little magic.

"A child born of sin, but a child who would grow within the fosterage of a good and just man. A child born of sin, but destined for salvation. A child who would grow into a man who would grow into a king." A child named Arthur.

I love the Arthurian legends. There are so many versions and interpretations. It's such a powerful and lasting story. This one covers more of the beginning of the legend. Myrrdin (Merlin) is a master manipulator in a way I've never seen depicted before, though I've hardly read everything available on the subject. Morganna (Morgaine) is far more conniving, almost to the point of evil, than I've encountered. It's a good introduction and base to the story, for those who don't have that already. My favorite part, though, is actually the Gaelic pronunciation guide in the beginning. I found it extraordinarily helpful, accessible, and the book is worth it for that alone, as well as for the story itself.

I read this book as an assignment for an extra reading group I'm in. There are definately some funny lines in the book, but I don't think the overall story was that interesting. I suggest it to kids ages 11-14. The reason I suggest it to older kids is because younger kids wouldn't understand it so much. I really did like it, though. Give it a try, you might love it!

I have got to say this is a Book of great comedy. It has an interesting flow of characters a lively narrator and hilariously funny pictures. All who I have recommended this book to, loved it. the only problem that I have found with it is the ending. He stops making every one laugh. I thought that he was sort of like Peter Pan and would always be funny. But he turned serious. Still it is absolutely awesome, A must read.

I remember sitting in class in third grade while the teacher read us this book. I always liked the books she read us but I LOVED this book. I remember after school one day, I couldn't wait to see what happened so I actually went to the library and read the rest of the book. I haven't read it in a while but I would really reccomend it for anyone or their kid. It was a truly enchanting and humerous book.

This is a fun book, a sort of send up of fairy tales. The writing style is very loose, and the book is filled with illustrations.

I liked it because it moves quickly. It lacks focus, but at least something is always happening, and the story is strange and quirky. The characters are engaging, and the writing is enjoyably casual.

It's about a prince who makes everyone happy, a princess so beautiful she turns anyone who looks at her into stone, a clumsy giant, and a hunter who shouldn't even be in the book but stays in it despite the author's protests.

It's a quick read, very fun. Recommended for kids and adults, especially if you're looking for something different.

In the beginning Roger is a prince, but not a normal prince. Roger has a strange effect on people. If he gets too close to a person, they could die laughing. When J. Wellington Wizard tells Roger to go on a quest, Roger asks, "Isn't a quest where you have to go somewhere or find something?" J. Wellington says that he sees him entering the Forever Forest, and tells him to take a sack of magic powder, and whenever he sees someone, to dust a little on himself, so that Roger can turn into a thing, maybe even a leaf. Then, whoever he is near won't laugh. Roger sets out on his quest, gets stuck in the Forever Forest, and meets a lot of new people, such as little Lucille, Andrew, and Tom. Some are evil and some are nice. Roger hates it in the Forever Forest, but he knows it will get better and he will be the happiest man on earth.

This was a very funny book to read because the author pretended that he doesn't have control over his book, such as when, in chapter 5, Night of the Frogs, he says that he was just trying to fool Tom because chapter 5 is really called Tom. Tom is a character who is supposed to leave on page 9 but he refused. The author always talks about how Tom can walk in and out of the book, and come back at the perfect time. I thought this book was hilarious, engaging, and thoroughly entertaining.

I've read BB's book several times, maybe 5 or 6. Every time I read it I still love it. I learn something new about him every time. If you even consider yourself a fan of BB or the blues, you have to read this book. David Ritz is an awesome co-writer, keeping BB's voice in the forefront, and he just gently guides BB. He did a hell of a job with Etta James' autobiography also.
An excellent book!!

His real name is Riley B. King, the B.B. stands for Blues Boy, and he is known as "America's ambassador of the blues". A recommended enjoyable, good read about growing up and into music, self-taught guitar, remarkable attitudes of a man who faced prejudice and hate with an even keel. A performer who went on stage even when he was suffering from a bad case of flu. B.B. King took his music to Israel, England, and Russia, and held up in stature through the lows and highs. And he loves his 'Lucille' (guitar)! David Ritz has co-authored with the King a wonderful synopsis of love, fortitude, belonging, and enthusiasm. Recommended for blues lovers or otherwise... please don't miss this splendid read. (Review based on hardcover 1996)

Wow, I just finished reading this biography and am truly satisfied with my reading. It's been a long time since I read a book this refreshing. Talk about honesty, passion and heart.
The last 3 chapters were especially entertaining, talking from the heart about issues generally left untouched. From page one, I couldn't put the book down.
This book really helps you understand B.B's live performances. For anyone who as seen B.B. King live sometimes gets the feeling that his performance is a routine that dates back 25 years (well, I now know it is!), but this fact doesn't bother my anymore, understanding where the man comes from, better understanding his way of doing things.
Recommended for blues fans and anyone interested in a very entertaining read.

A blues story
B.B. King's life is presented here in a breezy, happy go lucky style. Ostensibly an autobiography, (although if you heard any of B.B.'s interviews about the book and his amazement at some of the details that were revealed, you know David Ritz did much more than help out.) this book deals with B.B.'s childhood of amazing poverty and his eventual rise to be the "King of the Blues." Conversational in style, but revealing in detail, BLUES ALL AROUND ME works as both a personal reminiscence and as a look at the life of a black man living in America during the 20th century. Tales of racism (in the military and elsewhere), the difficulties of dealing with a less than honest music industry, and the struggle for success against these odds are all expressed in a manner that shows no true anger, rather an acceptance that these were challenges to overcome. B.B.'s personal relationships with the many women in his life is not avoided, nor his opinions of many of his contemporaries. While the selected discography is extremely disappointing, this book should be required reading for any fan of the blues, and while any autobiography has to be taken with a grain of salt, this one definitely rings true.

This is a wonderful book for people of all ages. It shows how we have what it takes inside of us to overcome obstacles or perceived issues. A great read for anyone who might have a handicap or knows of someone who does. This is also a wonderful read if you love horses!

This book is an excellent way to introduce the LOA to your kids. It's a sweet story for any age -young and old- and reinforces the idea that we do have the ability to change our circumstances at any given moment. I enjoyed the story so much and feel the message is so important that I have given the book to my daughter's teacher. I am hoping it will become a message that she agrees is vital to share with everyone.

After years of reading "Notes from the Universe" and dozens of other spiritual philosophies, I found Dandelion to be a little oversimplified. It struck me as the perfect read for a pre-teen or teen who is struggling with life's meaning for the first time, or perhaps an adult who has never explored spirituality before. With the right audience, this book would be very enjoyable and insightful, but if you have strong experience in spirituality, buy it for a teen in your life instead.

Every child and every Adult should read this book. It is a beautiful story, wonderfully told of a little horse growing up. Just like little anyone growing up she is subjected to the pressures of life. Parental, peer, job/school pressure and it shows the reader beautifully how to cope with that pressure. Dandelion, goes from being a misfit. She starts of in the eyes of those around her, a weedy little Dandelion. But, along with her struggles she emerges as a wondrous flower in full bloom.
Every age group will benefit from reading this book...those of us who have forgotten the wonders of childhood, those still in childhood or adolescence it's a must for those going through it and finding it tough. A wonderful gift for Grandparents to give to their Grandchild. A Real GIFT!

Amazingly simple yet so deep, well written, fun yet moving story, with incredibly powerful, inspiring reminder of this truth so many of us had forgotten. Well worth the short time to read it! I have purchased 15 books to present to loved ones- the message is that profound, life changing, and yet simple once we begin to consciously think about it. Horse lovers will love the picture the story paints in their minds, yet non-animal people will still be able to identify to the characters and appreciate and comprehend the message just as much, too. Cannot say enough good about this book!!!!

"Dr. Gail's" Insightful how-to guide brings order and understanding to why we dress and groom the way we do. It helps women to feel comfortable in their own skin by illuminating the reason behind what sometimes seems like madness. In today's cookie-cutter, judgemental time when so-called fashion gurus with flash-in-a-pan book deals and cable television shows, it's refreshing to know that there is a voice crying out in the wilderness saying, it's ok to be who GOD made you; and to reflect your individuality through your style. Kudos to Dr. Gail!

All in all, I enjoyed the approach DAUGHTERS OF THE KING provided. It was an interesting glimpse into a subject matter that I've studied in the past. While I enjoyed the biblical references, I thought some of the generalizations about the various image types may have been just that, too general. Yet, I found myself studying the text in the book and at times, laughing out loud or shaking my head in agreement. If you're curious to see how your personality style matches up to your biblical counterpart, do not pass up DAUGHTERS OF THE KING.

Authors Gail M. Hayes, PHD, has written an awesome non fiction guide for women of all ages, all races, to help them to first understand that they are unique and one of a kind. A woman of God called before the foundation of the Earth to be who they are according to how God made them.

Daughters of the King helps us to recognize our personal God given style so that we will not try to fit into someone else's mold or perception of who we are. We can be ourselves proudly knowing who we are in God regardless of our personality styles, which includes our dress, what kind of jobs we enjoy, our ministries, our family lives, and who we are as a whole.

What I enjoyed the most was utilizing the Image Indicator in the beginning of the book and finding out what personality style I am and then reading further in the book to see how very accurate it was. Being called "Jaunty Esprit" was very unexpected, but after reading through the book, I found that I had a little in each personality style.

I would recommend this book to all women regardless of their race, religion, or dress size. What Dr. Hayes shares in her book will cause you to take self-inventory to find all of the amazing things about yourself that is personally and uniquely yours created by God.

An incredibly interesting and wildly fun - and I must admit truly accurate book - found me recently. It is Gail M. Hayes' book, Daughters of the King.

Hayes believes that every woman has her own unique sense of style that is not only how she dresses but also how she does things (like holding an eating utensil or how she thinks). It is her very essence. It is simply who women are in the world and as children of God.

Hayes presents a simple twelve-question image indicator, and from the answers can tell women what type they are; Jaunty Esprit, Harmonic Refined, Elegant Flamboyant, Creative Poetic, Chantilly Graceful or Sensual Exotic. Now you might scoff or even laugh at the thought that a short questionnaire can pinpoint style, but I must confess that when I took the test, it was so accurate it shocked me. And no, I'm not going to share my style. I'd like to quietly savor it for awhile before proclaiming it to everyone.

Once you have determined your style, Hayes discusses in depth the beauty of your unique style, the inner you, tells a biblical story, discuses your style and family life, your strengths in the body of Christ, working style, good career choices, color and clothing and jewelry choices, as well as make up and hair styles.

I absolutely love this book because it's fun, it explains my style personally and as a child of God. And because it is, as I said before, so accurate! Women, buy this book, share it with your daughter, friends and anyone who will listen. I see style parties cropping up all over the country. "What fun!"

Thanks to Tom Jones for providing an invaluable resource for today's Managers -- both in Government and Private organizations -- for advice on addressing today's workplace problems.

Those of us who are not CEO's or even at management level will find this book useful. It helped me recognize the signs of dysfunction in our organization, as well as identify methods to affect change or influence work behavior from a lower-level employee's perspective. I especially like the personality profiling information, which gives an explanation and a tolerance for the ways my fellow workers perform their work and react to pressure in the workplace. We don't all have to be the same to function as a cohesive and productive unit. Our strengths, weaknesses, and uniqueness can be useful when combined to make powerful teams and successful changes. I recommend this book as a helpful tool for any level of employee.

Excellent book for the OD professional and the manager alike. In his usual very effective style, Dr. Jones' "lessons" are very readable, practical, and understandable, with just the right mix of humor, metaphors and stories. His use of actual experiences serve to effectively demonstrate the "real-life" usefulness and value of the techniques he describes. Every organization experiences dysfunction, to one degree or another, and can, therefore, benefit from the guidance Dr. Jones provides in this book.

I believe that any reader will easily recognize the corporate situations that the author describes - it's the stuff we live with every day at work. The "aha!" comes along with the author's insightful discussions of HOW and WHY these situations come to exist, and why they are so very frustrating. But the best part is the practical "here's what you can do about it" discussions. This book shows you how you can have some impact, how these situations can be addressed constructively.

During my long working career I have partcipated in numerous courses, got advice from the best consultants and read lots of complicated theories. This is the first book that gives clear and practical advice to identify and solve the problems of an dysfunctional organization. I recommend Jones's book warmly to everyone who is interested in improving the quality of the activity of his organization.

Very dissapointed. The goatskin eddition for less money is sooooo much nicer. No comparison! Now I must return this item.

I have had this KJV Concord Wide Margin Reference Edition for 4 years. It has held up beautifully--indeed it still looks virtually brand new (and I have used and written extensive notes in this Bible). Here's what I like about this Bible:
1. The Calfskin leather covering. This leather has held up unbelievably--as if it is still brand new.
2. The clarity of the font. Even though the font is somewhat small, it's bold font is crystal clear (and my eyes are not very good).
3. I love the fact that there is so much space in the margins for writing notes. And not just on each side, but the top and bottom of each page has plenty of room as well.
4. I also love the fact that bleed-through is not a problem. I use bold pens and multi-colored high-lighters, and yet none of them bleed through. Awesome.

The main plus is the fact that I've had this Bible for 4 years. And it still is in prime condition (and I have used this Bible very heavily).

If you are looking for a quality King James Bible, one that has plenty of room for your own notes, one that holds up even after heavy useage...well, this is the Bible for you. I love it and feel confident that this Bible will be in great shape 20 years down the road.

This was just the bible I Have been searching for. FJV, wide margin, marginal references, and extra pages for my own notes. This was the only KJV that offered everything I needed, along with superior quality.

This is a beautiful, very high quality Bible. I have nothing to add to the other reviews that praise this Bible beyond saying that while I very much prefer the King James Version, I do wish that those who claim it is the only valid English translation would get a copy of this Bible and read the Translators' Letter to the Reader -- it is a very fine, nearly 400-year-old refutation of the KJV-only crowd's arguments. Also, I am over 40 and wish that Cambridge would make a text or a Concord version with a font somewhere between the 10 pt they call "large print" and the 22/24 pt "giant print" -- somewhere between 12.5 and 18 pt would be nice. Still, this is a very readable Bible, and the center column references are very good. Spend the money -- it's worth it.

Excellent, beautiful, quality bible and workmanship. A treasure. Sturdy and well made, type is easy to read. The paper is sturdy and you can write notes in the wide margins without worrying about the ink passing through or indentations being made in the pages. The binding is also sturdy. This bible has a wonderful leather smell. With care it will last many years. Amazon has it at an excellent price.

I have to agree with the previous poster who said the Letter from the Translators to the Readers is good to have. It is definitely a solid refutation to the KJV only crowd. I myself prefer the KJV and NKJV because they are taken from the accurate manuscripts. However, I am saddened by KJV only defenders who either deny or just don't know the history of their own English Bible. While the KJV is the only pure preserved English bible today (Hebrew and Greek meanings and pure manuscripts), we would probably not have it were it not for the Geneva and Tyndale bibles that preceded it, as well as several other English bibles. Men literally gave (lost) their lives for daring to translate God's word into the English common man's language, as Tyndale put it: so that the plowman would have his own bible in his very own language. The Geneva was the preferred bible for 100 years before the KJV was commissioned by King James to be chained to Anglican pulpits and become the only version used. The Geneva was one of over four bibles used by the 50 KJV translators (Textually the KJV is 95% Geneva bible text). The KJV-only stance that began under the King caused a stir among the Puritans who loved their protestant Geneva bible (they knew the KJV was not considered a protestant bible), and this prompted them to sail to America in search of religious freedom. They brought with them their Geneva bibles and that was the first main bible used in early America, until early Congress declared the KJV to be widely utilized in government and by our founding fathers. The KJV at the time it was translated and published was another update of the previous English bibles as English had changed and adapted between the time of the Anglo-Saxons to Wycliff to Tyndale to King James. Updating English words as English changes, such as in the New King James, is not a sin as long as meaning has not been changed or taken from. Most don't know that the original KJV 1611 had 80 books in it (the 14 extra were the Apocrypha) until 1881 when the 14 extra books of the Apocrypha were removed. KJV-only often say that the bible they hold in their hands today is the 1611 Authorzed version, but what they don't know is that the KJV underwent at least 7 revisions between 1611 and 1881. And they don't realize that if they did really have a 1611 AV their bibles would have the original English spellings of 1611, such as "f" used in place of "s" in certain words, "l" instead of "j" in certain words, as well as totally different spellings of certain words that changed between Tyndale's time and the 1800s. The original 1611 AV spelled Jesus as "Iefus." Pretty hard to read that way, eh? That's why the KJV was updated spelling-wise over the next 2 centuries after 1611, because such spelling of words changed and began to resemble closer to how we spell today. The NKJV is the same KJV bible with certain archaic words replaced with words of the same meaning that we use today. Such as the word "commodius" in the KJV in Acts has been updated to "suitable" in the NKJV. If one looks up the word commodius in most dictionaries and reads the archaic usage of the word they will find that the definition given is the same meaning that the NKJV has updated the text with. God transcends language with his holy word and God did not speak King James English any more than He spoke Chinese, but His spirit is able to adapt His word and meaning into many languages as long as the translators are being faithful to the true, exact meaning. To change His meaning is to add to or take away from His word. The updated NKJV has not changed meaning, but instead has updated certain English words just as the KJV translators updated certain out of date words and spellings from the previous English bibles. So, when a KJV-only person yells at you for reading your NKJV direct him to some English bible history and welcome him to make himself more well-rounded on information.

For those who love the poetic beauty of the KJV and want it in a bible that will last and that has great quality, this Cambridge bible will not disappoint you. Plenty of room to write notes on the outter and bottom margins.

The book is a classic, probably the most popular study Bible on the market. Regarding bindings, there are paperback, hardcover, bonded leather, and genuine leather. Bonded leather is similar to particle board, it has a shorter life by far, and starts falling apart with regular use. Genuine leather this is not, it is bonded leather. Genuine leather will look like new for decades.

This Bible is a great study Bible. This is one of the best study Bibles that I have found that has a vast amount of insight into the scripture for daily living.

I have enjoyed using this Bible for years, so I bought this one for my Mom. The notes are so well thought out and accurate. They are truly a source of information to go along with the scriptures. I would recommend this Bible to everyone!

The Life Application Study Bible, available in many translations including NIV, NLT, and KJV, is one of the most popular devotional Bibles out there, and one that more spiritual-minded Christians will appreciate. Avoiding too much historical analysis, it can focus solely on spiritual topics and, of course, Biblical applications for your life. It is thoroughly evangelical, and often fundamentalist (take that as you wish). When used with an historical/critical study Bible like the New Interpreter's Study Bible (see my review; available only in NRSV), one has an excellent, basic Bible study and devotion set.

I can also honestly add that after all the years I've had one of these--my mother gave me one at Christmas years ago--I still turn to it for inspiration. It is the one Bible I have that keeps me going in the right direction.

The study notes give a good insight into cultures of the day. The maps are frequent, useful and easy to understand. The "Harmony of the Gospels" is a wonderful addition that should be in all Bibles.
I would urge anyone who studies a lot to go for the geniuine leather instead of the bonded. It has a better feel and will hold up better. My only complaint is that the text is a bit small. Otherwise great buy. And Amazon had the best price I could find.

This book brought a lot of things to light. I am very thankful for the time of the author. I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves Gods Word!

I am really enjoying my Chronological Bible. It is everything I expected and I can now sit down and read in the order things probably happened. I used to reference myself the order of events and skip around my Bible...I enjoy this a lot more. Great quality as well and price was the best on Amazon. The first scripture in this chronological Bible is John 1:1 and rightfully so. In the beginning was the Word. Upon reading this I knew this was the Bible for me. The dates are nor arbitrarily set forth but rather determined through years of intensive study. If you enjoy the historical view in addition to spiritual nourishment of the Word you will thoroughly enjoy The Reese Chronological Bible.

If you have never read through your Bible before, I wouldn't recommend this one. Not that you wouldn't like it, but I always recommend a beginning to end, Genesis to Revelation, read first. The Reese Chronological Bible lays everything out in exact (or as exact as can be determined) order so that I can draw new correlations between historical people and events not mentioned in the same book of the Bible. Example: Job's trials in relationship to the lives of Noah and Abraham or the lives of the major and minor prophets in relationship to the various kings of Israel and Judah.

I can't even imagine the research and work involved in the creation of this Bible, but I am very thankful that Mr. Reese has done it! This is an outstanding study and devotional Bible and belongs on the shelf of every true Christian.

I bought this Bible for the sole purpose of gaining a generally chronological orientation to biblical events and persons relative to the whole. It serves its purpose well enough. The reader ought to realize, however, that the interpretive chronological schema is dispensationalist, and that such a schema affects, for example, the date given (late) for the writing of Revelation, which in turn has definite implications for one's eschatological interpretations and expectations. In short, the chronological flow is useful, but I would not use this as a primary study Bible.

The text is King James Version, and the font is comfortably large.
