This is the most powerful book on prayer I have ever read. It puts pieces in place that never made sense before. You have never read anything that makes so much sense on the blood of Christ and spiritual vision.

Jennifer's book teaches the purpose of prayer, the process of prayer, and the author of prayer. It shows you how to let God author your prayers and how to see His answers even when they are not what you are expecting. She is the best at using illustrations to make the complex and confusing, simple and easy to understand. After reading this book you will be released from the pressure to pray exactly the right thing in exactly the right way in order to see God work.

Prayer Models
Helpful Votes: 6 out of 6 total.
Review Date: 2004-03-31
We learn to pray by praying ourselves, but we also learn about prayer from other pray-ers. That's the value of Nancy Kennedy's book on Bible women who prayed. From more than thirty Biblical women at prayer, she has chosen ten to illustrate key points of prayer.
They include Deborah (strength and conviction), Hannah (help), Esther (courage), the Canaanite woman (mercy), the woman who needed healing (faith), Salome (boldness), "sinful" woman (contrite heart), Anna (persistence), Martha (hope) and Mary (joy). Kennedy pulls in other scriptures plus poignant personal stories to make this a for-real book. You'll long remember, for example, the lawnmower story (pp. 29-31). You may also identify with Nancy's prayers when depression struck her daughter and husband. Each chapter ends with guided study and contemplation to make it a useful tool for personal or informal group study.

Precious is the second book that I have read by Author Kennedy Devereaux. It was a sad story, yet it shows that a woman's heart can truely surive the tradgey of heartbreak. It was a story that made me appreciate life and believe that there is always light at the end of the tunnel when all seems hopeless. I am anxious to read her next book!

Great math program

This is our first year homeschooling, and we had trouble finding a math program that really works. Then we tried this math book, and this is exactly what we need. It has real life links, and great special projects to work on. This math program also has a great accompanying web-site, where my son finds an on-line tutor, and can do all the corresponding tests.

Absolutely Great historical book
Helpful Votes: 2 out of 2 total.

I don't have time to write this review really well. But if you love history - don't skip this book. It is simply great at illuminating the details of how 5 or 6 men actually became president of the US. It really goes into the background and backroom dealings of the "men behind the men" that made it possible for these guys to become president. For instance, Warren Harding never really wanted to be President, he actually disliked the idea of becoming President; and his real ambition was to be a mid-level judge. He was way, way, behind in the popularity polls even for his own party's nomination. There were two other guys (one of them, a famous WWI General "Leonard Wood") who each had about 40% in the polls.
This is a really great book

Excellent!

Review Date: 1999-12-11
Understanding how presidents make policy decisions in the modern political environment can help us understand the constraints operating serious change. Presidents often feel they have a certain agenda to push through the system: that is why they were elected. However, it is far easier said than done. Instead of coming up with unique ideas to address the problems of the country, a president's staff must choose from among policy ideas that have already been floating around. Presidents are often forced to choose between legislative success and good policy - they usually choose the former at the expense of the latter. Hence the country is stuck with a no-win presidency. This book is well researched through extensive staff intereviews and first hand accounts of the inner workings of many past presidencies. If you have ANY interest in the presidency, this is a definite book to have on your shelf.

Hi everyone. This is RFK talking to you from inside the mind of another living man. You know that when don't have a form and are something between alive and dead you can really use space well. I have a giant computer and am on the internet constantly and I am writing tons of poems. Check out my book. I didn't write any of this stuff but it did come out of my mouth. Look for my book of poems sometime soon.
