Hunt Books

My three sons (all currently in college) were raised in the UK and this was the primary 'reading system' at their school. It was wonderful for both them and us as parents sharing it with them. The stories are simple but interesting. The characters are real but sometimes magical things happen to them. My sons are terrible at hand writing but they are all great readers, thanks in some part to the 'Kipper' books!

The book has the same wonderful characters that appeared in the original version. The story was the same. I was well pleased with my purchase. If had the opportunity to purchase some more books from this company I would do it.

My daughter loves these reading books. Hailing from the UK I bought the first set while visiting family. My 5 year old is now an addict and is up to stage 7. She cannot wait to read each evening to find out what kind of adventure Chip, Biff, Kipper.... are going to have next. What more could a parent ask for?

It is not my own experience since I got these booklets for my grandson living in Panamá. His school, the Oxford School in Panamá, is using these books with different knowledge levels for teaching the english language to their spanish speaking pupils. They also recommend this "literature" for home-studying purposes. I believe my grandson, 7 years old, is already very fond of these booklets and is getting on quite well with the reading and understanding.

The Oxford Reading Tree has inspired both my daughters to learn to read as quickly as possible. They have amazing characters that once the children have learned their names they can stay with them progessing from early reading through to accomplished readers. They are used in 90% of England's school and are a major part of the reading cirriculum there, including private education. They have fun stories and really teach your children to read.

This is a fab series for 0 to 3 years old. My boys adore the simple stories, serene photo-animations and finding the little bear in each picture. My only complaint is that most of the earlier books in the series are apparently out of print and I only have 3 of them. I hope they continue to add to the series.

I picked this up at a local bookstore and immediately I fell in love with it. It features a side by side commentary of the whole book of Psalms in one volume. On the left hand column is the King James Version of the Psalm, and then adjacent to it on the right are the commentary by Charles Spurgeon, John Calvin, and Matthew Henry respectively. These commentaries by each preacher are the edited versions. The print is equivalent to "9" font -- so it might be on the small side for some people, but I found it to be quite legible.

You can't go wrong with the classic expositions by such notable Bible scholars and preachers such as Spurgeon, Calvin, and Henry. If you don't like the edited version, you may want to go for the complete version of Spurgeon, Calvin, and Henry, but then you'll have to lug a whole basketful of books. I found this to be just right for me, in a very handy volume. Highly recommended!!

Paris On Fire as a sequel to Paris Under Siege is an exciting thriller which helps one understand the difference between good, moderate Muslims and fanatics. The action takes place in the Casbah, in Paris and its suburbs, and involves Islamic terrorists excerbating discontented, out of work Muslims. The American Ambassador, a woman, is kidnapped and a showdown between the terrorists and the French police as well Americans occurs. The Eiffel Tower is almost destroyed, but three Americans and a Muslim woman, along with a French special agent and three Muslim women seek to stop the fanatics. Lots of fun from which one can learn much from today's conflicts.

This manual has everything in it that I needed to know from where to start, to how to organize, to how to store, to how to make attractive for sale or to give away -- my pastor's tapes that he/she has preached over the years. Being chosen or assigned to do that can be mind-boggling without any guidelines. Here are your guidelines in a manual called, The Pastor's Tape Library. Simple. Easy to read. Organized, great reference capability.
