*The* book on UranusReview Date: 2000-10-16
For those who own the "Atlas of Jupiter" and "Atlas of Saturn", the thinness of this book might be disappointing at first. Where the first two atlases dispense a wealth of information, theories and pictures on Jupiter and Saturn, the third one predictably cannot do so, based on the results of only one robotic encounter as compared to several.
Within these limits, the "Atlas of Uranus" gives as complete a picture as possible. It features spectacular, full-page reproductions of the images taken by Voyager 2, a technical discussion of the spacecraft itself, and a historical overview of the discovery and subsequent telescopic exploration of Uranus. I can fully recommend this book to any amateur astronomer or other interested layperson.

Tara Burke is happy that her cousin found a mate but, it doesn't mean that she is looking to hook up with anyone in the near future. That is, until Trey Williams walks in and Tara has to pretend that she isn't interested in him. Tara is a witch and is thinking of ways to destroy the mating call that Trey's body is using to entice hers.
Trey and Tara are unable to deny the mating heat they each feel for the other. In the midst of all this, Tara soon becomes the obsession of a rogue werewolf and is in danger.
Bad Moon Rising by Loribelle Hunt is deliciously naughty and extremely erotic. Sweat was pouring off of my forehead from the intensity of the characters and still I couldn't put this book down, nor did I want to. Nothing is better than a werewolf protecting his mate and Trey was all that and more. Tara in her own right was strong and smart and I loved her capitulation.
Bad Moon Rising is book 2 of the Lunar Mate series, and while the story is easily understood if read alone, I think readers would also enjoy reading book 1, Under Cover of the Moon, also by Loribelle Hunt. These books are just that wonderful! ***Talia Ricci for Joyfully Reviewed***

Barney Had A Good Day HereReview Date: 2002-01-07
This book is very good. All four of my kids have latched onto it during their "first book" phase.
Why does this work? Its is very good at teaching recognition and early word/sound identification. There are about eight different two page layouts (scenes with Barney and friends in space, out West, at circus, etc.). On the left is a column with six objects. The objective for your kid is to point out each object in the main picture after you've shown them what it looks like in the column.
The art is good in a Barney sort of way, the pictures are just the right balance between cluttered and clear to allow first time bibliophiles the chance to "win" the game of locating the objects.
My young kinds (18 mos. or so) kept coming back to this book again and again. It was a favorite and taught them well.

Even more so than its predecessors, this work is primarily based on the data returned by Voyager 2 in its August, 1989 flyby, which resulted in the discovery of the "Great Dark Spot", of new minor satellites, and gave us spectacular close-ups of the surface of Neptune's sole giant moon, Triton, and its strange "cantalope terrain". All of these marvels are reproduced in full color, making this book as visually appealing as it is intellectually stimulating. Sadly, since no further missions to Neptune are planned, this will probably be the state-of-the-art of our knowledge of Neptune for some years to come, making this book a worthy investment.
A historical overview of the discovery and telescopic exploration of Neptune and a brief technical discussion of Voyager 2's mission and the unique technical challenges it faced during the Neptune encounter complete this work. A wonderful book that should not be missing in any astronomical library.
