Bob's World was a fun and enjoyable read. I especially liked the fact that Bob (the author) spent equal time poking fun at his wife, his cat, his son, and especially himself. I highly recommend this book--even for people not named Bob.

Received the book today and I am devouring it. What a marvelous resource for experiential training. The activities are excellent, creative, and well presented. This is exactly what I have been searching for. (Wish I would have found this one sooner.) My question is this: If this is Volume II, how do I get my hands on Volume I? Highly recommended by this trainer, speaker, and consultant in Colorado. Great value for the money.

Very helpful for anyone dealing with human emotions

The first review I wrote for this book was lost (by Amazon).

Mr. Spillman nailed it with the oncoming mission in Israel's oil drilling. There is now a hunt for Israel's fine oil driven by USA's small corporations. Watch now for the big haul to make headlines world wide and the great big bear (Russia) accompanied by China, and many other nations, chase Israel away from their finding.

USA have better be ready for their support is well needed in Israel.

Follow up with the updated and revised edition of Jerusalem Countdown by Pastor John Hagee. This will be a great accompaniment.

The Nicki Holland Mysteries by Angela E. Hunt are a powerful blend of suspense and character lessons. Hard to put down, yet easy to read, these books are excellent for the most reluctant young reader. Even the advanced reader will find it difficult to put these stories down until finished. The mixture of mystery and moral issues combine to make these books not only entertaining but also thought provoking where traditional values are concerned. Well done, Ms. Hunt

Well executed whodunit with lots of glamour and danger

Review Date: 2004-06-04
The duo of Lani Robson Remender and Mary T. Hoiness is one evolving from interesting personal histories. Remender is a descendent of pioneers who founded Mesa. Lani is an English teacher and amateur archaeologist whose husband is a lawyer. Hoiness is also an English teacher who comes from Italian immigrant parentage. She moved to Arizona in the 1960's to teach. She has been involved with Arizona politics, having campaigned for various incumbents.

Jim Ryan is a defense lawyer who has just hired a new secretary, Jennie Bond. Although there is an obvious attraction, the two keep it in check. Jennie discovers a glitch in an Internet video phone Jim has purchased which sheds light on an insurance case he is working on. This case turns into murder reaching back to the Hohokam of Central Arizona, the mob, and the new Kamaho Casino, built on ancestral land. Shortly after the casino opens, Billy Horn Deer is found dead in his car, and his sister Connie Sue is the prime suspect. Ryan agrees to defend her and opens up a cache of rattlesnakes, some buried treasure, corrupt politicians, and the sins of his erstwhile girlfriend:

"She looked at him with a cold glare, 'Yes, I paid him for investigative work. Why all the questions?' 'I just came from Glen Johnson's office. He's a detective in the Phoenix PD.' She nodded that she knew who he was. 'They have some tape recordings that they took form Charlie's safe after this death. Your name is on one cassette, and there's some sizzling dialogue captured for all time on the tape inside.'"

CASINO works on many levels. It is a murder mystery most intriguing. The team of Remender/Hoiness dig up ancient Hohokam history to provide the motive. It's not too hard to come up with a cast of characters who each have their own agenda, and the team pull off excellent plot and character development. Numerous threads provide constant action, and the protagonists are in constant danger, just as they are drawn together and pulled apart by their emotions and circumstances. Arizona is an excellent setting for a mystery, and the two do a great job of covering local color (or cacti, in this case). CASINO TO DIE FOR is a well executed whodunit with lots of glamour and danger. It is an excellent read from a powerful pair of authors. A big thumbs up!

Reviewing; Casino to Die For
I especially like the sometimes quirky, often warm and always real qualities you gave your characters. Your dialogues were purposeful and clear. I enjoyed Jim and Jennies' monologues. They brought out strengths and weakness we're all heir to. The story, moved at a fast pace while it simultaneously entertained and educated.
As I entered into the last 20 pages, I felt sad letting go of the people and characters with which I'd become involved.
Then an idea struck "When's the sequel coming?"

Helen Hunt Jackson was the widowed wife of a succesful Pennsilvanian buisness man. She was acostomed to many trips to the frontier west, upon which she had many interactions with the local indians there. She was greatly distresed at their condition. Which led her to become an author. She once said that regalrdless of where you open the book on the american indian, there is not a year or page without a dark stain. This book was as influential on the people of her time as Harriet Beacher Stowe's Uncle Tom's Cabin was on the people in antebellum america. Certainly a must read for all history enthusiasts

captivating, astute and indespensible

Review Date: 2000-06-22
In "Century of Dishonor" author Helen jackson has written an indepth and scholarly account of the US government's policy of instiutionalized "Indian" extermination. Jackson's account of the infamous "Trail of Tears" in which 17,000 Cherokees were forcibly removed from their homes and driven at bayonet point to Oklahoma by the US Army,an unspeakable atrocity in which only half the Cherokee population survived. In her summation of the treatment accorded to the Cherokees, Helen Jackson writes that "In the whole history of our Government's dealing with the Indian tribes, there is no record so black as the record of perfidy to this nation. There will come a time in the remote future when, to the student of American history, it will seem well-nigh incredible."

"Century of Dishonor" remains essential reading for those who wonder where Hitler obtained the background material on concentration camps and genocide: US government frontier policy. A captivating, astute and indespensible addition to American history.

Several Years ago I took "Chemistry For Today" taught by Dr. Andy Sae who wrote this book for his lab class. Loved the class and the lab. Now my daugther is showing the great interest in doing experiments. Dr. Sae's book places the "real life" into chemistry while making it fun. The joy of sharing this fun with my daughter is even better. Teachers can use this in their class room, parents can use this for family fun time, anyone can take this book and create fun for all ages. Dr Sae is a knows how to create a learning environment and spread the chemistry bug with this creation. Thank you Sr. Sae! Here to many Happy Retirement years, you have earned it!
