Excellent introduction to poetry of Hughes
Helpful Votes: 3 out of 3 total.

This book features poetry of Hughes for children. The poetry carefully uses language geared for children, uses repetition more than images. This results in text that conveys to children as much the careful, artful use of language as "fine poetry". The illustrations by Bryan are a superb counterpoint to the text - again geared intentional towards children - but showing excellent use of color and a realism appealing to adults.

This book succeeds in being truly for children without being sacchrine or insulting. Don't think of this as an "ethnic" book, it is far too good to be marginalized.

Poetically and spiritually moving;a must for any library

This book not only captures the beauty of Langston Hughes for young readers but also portrays the beauty of African Heritage within the powerful meaning of the story of Christ's birth. I ended up buying two copies on my first round because it was such a wonderful piece of work for both chidren and adults!

I have reviewed this flipbook and find that it would be very helpful for the Catia user during and after the basic training. This book is direct on the "how too" needs as a quick reference.

As I have bought both the Solids and Surfacing books and reviewed both I did find that several of the general use tips where the same in each book. Still, the price seemed right for the info given and I look forward to the Advanced Surfacing book mentioned in the text.

Hello
I would like to share some information about myself and my Catia V5 Flipbooks.
I believe that my books can help people to get running quickly in Catia V5.
I have 28 yrs experience as a Catia Design Engineer and as a Tool maker.
In that 28 yrs I spent 10 of them teaching Catia and writing books for other companies.
Most of the people who are new to Catia V5 already know how to run a cad system, They just do not have the time to
read all of the text , They just need to know what buttons to press to get the job done.
Most of us are under a tight timing on a product and do not have the time to set idle while trying to figure out
which commands to use or read pages of directions to achieve the design.
My books are only 4" X 6" in size. This makes it easy to carry them with you.
Just look up the command in the glossary in the front of my Solids book or the Index located in the front of my Surface book
and flip to the command and follow the pictures, that's it.
I print them at home because I want them to have nice bold color and show a
quality product.
My Catia V5 flipbooks are a perfect compliment to any other Catia books out there.
They do make it easier to follow along in any Basic Catia class and will help you get up and running quickly
on V5. Or you can learn how to navigate through V5 on your own by just following my easy to follow pictures and directions.
I walk you through the commands required to start a file, create and modify parts and assemblies.
My Catia V5 Flipbooks may not have all the answers, But they will help in jumpstarting your journey through
Catia V5. I hope that you like them.
and remember, Training books are a tax write off : ) .

Sincerely

Do not let the size of this book fool you. It is jam packed with great information. It is a "must have" for anyone working to counsel others. It clearly and concisely answers the most common questions people have. General areas covered are:
Difficulties of Unbelievers, Problems Christians Face and Intellectual Arguements. Specific questions are answered and backed up with Scripture. Christian counselors and workers should commit this book to memory.

A good place for the Christian counselor to start!

Selwyn Hughes does a good job in dealing with the most common problems people face (Christian and Non-Christian sections inlcluded) and with the basic objections you will face in witnessing. Scripture references and a discussion of each issue are side by side on separate pages.

A book I recommend to all Christians to review and keep on their bookshelves! This compact reference manual will come in handy in moments of need

A Collection to Collect
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 0 total.
Review Date: 2008-06-29
An astonishing top-to-bottom, stem-to-stern compendium of this singular (and singularly productive) poet. It challenges the reader to come to terms with the very wide aesthetic and emotional arc of Hughes' oeuvre. It is also a physical challenge to cart about and read with enjoyment. The prima facie scholarship of this edition, it is a clinic in poetics to keep you company for any future overseas flights endorsed by no less a modern poet than 'Famous' Seamus Heaney. There is no living American poet with as wide a palate or as uncompromising in its anti-suburban sensibility. Quite a handy tool for dealing with irredentist slatherers of Plath, too - you could seriously knock them cold with a drop of this tome.

A huge, landmark collection from a major poet

Review Date: 2008-04-12
This enormous (1300+ pages) collection of Ted Hughes's poetry should cement his reputation as one of the two truly major British poets of the second half of the twentieth century. (The other being the much less prolific Philip Larkin.) This single volume collects ALL of Hughes's published poetry, including the late "Tales From Ovid" and "Birthday Letters," his bestselling book of poems about/for Sylvia Plath, as well as the works written in his official capacity as poet-laureate. Also included are many uncollected poems and works from books no longer easily available. Although the sheer size of this book is somewhat intimidating, this is the Hughes collection to buy if you want to immerse yourself in one of the last century's most versatile and surprising poets, an artist whose work ranges from savage evocations of Darwinian nature to earthy agrarian meditations to violent surrealism to seering, intimate confessions. This may be the most important volume of British poetry published this decade.

Clear and Well-Paced -- A Masterpiece.
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 0 total.
Review Date: 1999-08-17
I'm not sure how to put this, but, this book has some of the best, most clearly written, and logically organized introductions to various aspects of the class concept in C++ programming. I had been struggling with the concept of the class constructor for about a month, rereading material in several different texts, but not really understanding it. This book iterates and reinterates the subject material so that there is no confusion. For example, on the constructor, the book explained the distinction between objects and classes, the concept of instantiation, provided examples of such and of member types, and the purpose of the class concept, and then, at the right time, explained it so: "The purpose of the constructor is to initialize an object of its class."

T H A N K Y O U !!!!

In ten minutes, I understood everything I had been struggling with for the previous 30 days. The book does the same thing with polymorphism, overloading, templates, and so forth. So -- I'm not sure if people who are specifically interested in Collections and Container Classes will get what they want from this book -- I'm not at that level to judge yet -- but this book is great for the beginner as a supplementary support text. Beautiful diagrammatics also.

Quite good but a bit too much review material

Quite a bit of the book is spent reviewing object oriented principles and data structures. Also, the title doesn't say it, but the book concentrates almost exclusively on the standard template library.

Someone is framing Jackson Colton for the attempted murder of his uncle Joe. In the very first book of this series (Beloved Wolf) someone tries to kill Joe at his sixtieth birthday party. Several months later in another book (Passion's Law) someone again tries to kill Joe. The reader does not know who really tried to kill Joe Colton, but we do know from previous books that `Meredith' is the one trying to frame Jackson. The evidence keeps piling up, but one of the most incriminating pieces of evidence is the testimony of Cheyenne James.

Cheyenne was at Joe's birthday bash and can place Jackson near the place where the shooter would have been standing. Cheyenne knows that her testimony makes Jackson look guilty. She does not want to testify against him because she knows that he is innocent. Cheyenne has a `gift' of sight or visions. She knows Jackson is innocent and she is willing to marry him to keep the police from making her give a statement.

Jackson and Cheyenne become close, but neither of them admits their true feelings for each other. Jackson is afraid he has nothing to offer Cheyenne since his future may include prison bars. Cheyenne is afraid that Jackson cannot accept her because of her `gift'. The story is exciting in that it brings a conclusion to who is trying to kill Joe. Now the family can concentrate on trying to find out the truth about `Meredith'. The last paragraph in this story is the most interesting and sets up the next book in the series, which is sure to be exciting.

This book gives you many good ideas on to build a family, not just live your life. To have fun with your kids with out the use of a TV.. and some practical parenting advice as well. This book helps Christian parents to review and reassess their family life. The ideas are not particularly original but are important principles which we all need to be reminded of. I would recommend this book unreservedly to all Christian parents - it would make a great baptism present!

A Great Career

Review Date: 2008-09-02
Are you looking for a new career? You may want to consider becoming a mortgage broker--a "financial professional who acts as an agent between borrowers looking for mortgages and the institutions that offer them." As Patricia Hughes explains in her book The Complete Guide to Becoming a Successful Mortgage Broker: Insider Secrets You Need to Know, mortgage broking can be a very lucrative occupation, and, believe it or not, a formal college degree is not essential, though, depending on the state, a class may be required before taking the certification exam. The author further notes that though "formal education is a plus" that "an effective mortgage broker needs to have good people skills" along with talent in sales and marketing. And the rewards for possessing these skills can be great. Hughes comments that a broker "with over three years of experience...can easily make a six-figure salary."

This very informative "how-to" book presents the pros and cons of working as an independent mortgage broker versus working for a large mortgage brokerage firm, or a smaller firm. And many other topics of interest are covered: Building business, sales techniques, locating borrowers, finding the best deals for clients, putting together a loan package, how to set up your own company, insurance needs, tips for success, state-by-state licensing requirements, and many more.

Hats off to Patricia Hughes, who has done a wonderful job of laying out all this information in a very clear and concise way. She has explained very simply and comprehensibly what would be needed to embark on a career such as mortgage broking, or to improve the skills of an existing broker.

This book starts at the beginning and walk through each step of the process to become a successful mortgage broker. It explains all the choices you will need to make as well as the pros and cons of each decision. The book answered all the questions I had and ones I never even considered, like needing a certain minimum net worth. The book is for more than just the start-up mortgage. It's also a great resource for the veteran broker looking to increase business or considering starting up his or her own company. The sales techniques in Chapter 5 are valuable to anyone at any stage of their career. Chapter 17 provides information to help mortgage brokers recognize a slowdown in the coming market and prepare for it. It also provides some tips on how to best take advantage of the time by increasing marketing and education to prepare for the upturn in the market. Unfortunately, no special tips were available for those who might be in the middle of a market downturn without having properly planned. The case studies help bring it all together with advice and experience from three seasons professionals.

If you want to become a mrotgage broker, this is the only book you'll need to guide you through the process. Every profession should have such a thorough guidebook available.
