This book is great. My daughter finds this book very amusing in some spots where the girl is so worried about things. She says "mom, if she quits worrying she will feel so much better." It teaches kids what to do if they need to utilize stop, drop and roll in a fun and comfortable way.
They should call it STOP DROP AND BUY THIS BOOK!

An excellent source of information about fires and fire safety. It could prevent the unneccessary burning of school children everywhere, should it be used properly. I keep this book by my bedside and refer to it regularly. Thank you STOP DROP and ROLL! You Rock! (and ROLL!)

If you can find this in any addition, though the hardback is very nice gift, it is a great addition to any Grail Lore Collection.
Pyle did so many books great books on the Medieval Myths and Legends. First published in 1905, Pyle wrote and illustrated his own tales, such as Lancelot, Tristam & Isoult, and Percival. The pen in and ink drawing are simply amazing and so bring alive his stories.
Highly recommended for those interested in tales of the Round Table. Hopefully, with the interested Tolkien's Rings, it will reawaken a hunger for these tales of chivalry, of valour and those willing to stand and fight in what they believe.

Howard Pyle weaves another masterpiece in this, the sequel to The Story of King Arthur and His Knights. It is frought with adventure, chivalry, and Pyle's own version of Old English to go with it. Pyle's english and his drawings add greatly to the already great story, making this series one of the best I have ever read.
This book details the early adventures of Sir Launcelot, Sir Tristram, and Sir Percival. One would think that the jousts/battles would get repetitive and boring after a while, but Pyle is so masterful a storyteller that it never gets boring, and each adventure captures the imagination more than the last.
Overall grade: A+

This book contains more than 500 words and phrases commonly used in Chinese to show meanings like contrast, cause-effect, surprise, disagreement, conditionals, you name it, it's in this book. The explanations of meaning and usage are clear and easy to understand, and each entry is supported with examples written in traditional and simplified Chinese and pinyin.

This book is definitely user friendly. Each word is listed in chinese character, pinyin pronounciation guide and part of speech identification followed by 2 or more sentences. I found the sentences to be interesting and useful. Since the sentences are variable from simple to complex in their grammatical structure, they give a fair view of the uses of the words in this volume.
Additionally, I found the layout of the entries to be well designed and easy to find. An excellent addition to any serious or casual Chinese Language learner's reference collection.

While living in Salisbury, Maryland, I was befriended by the Howards. One day we were having a rather lofty conversation. All of the sudden they handed me a copy of their book! I was amazed! Even though I'm not a big fan of M. Scott Peck's endless series of theology books, EXPLORING the Road Less Traveled certainly brings his best selling namesake alive!
One can certainly benefit from the Howards' book as an individual reader. However, I believe a lot more can be gained by forming a study group. The Howards' approach is practical, liberal and downright interesting. The book is divided into 11 chapters, ranging from "Dedication to Reality" to "The Courage of Love." With the support of a dynamic study group, there's certainly the potential for a lot of emotional growth, which is the reason the Howards' wrote the book in the first place!

Relates the progressive events of history under the symbolism of the Breaking of Seals, Sounding of Trumpets, and the Pouring out of Vials, leading up to the end of this age . . . and beyond.
The writing of this book has been the result of a desire, on the part of the author, to guide those who would delve more deeply into this wonderful source of knowledge from Jesus Christ Himself for the enlightenment and guidance of all who long for His appearing.
The book of Revelation is the story of the Christian Era down to the end of the age, now rapidly drawing near. It proclaims "things which are", "things which must shortly come to pass"; "things which shall be hereafter." It does what its Greek title The Apocalypse suggests: Unveils the progressive history of the past two thousand years and, under the symbolism of the breaking of Seals, the sounding of Trumpets, the pouring out of Vials, gives a panoramic view, ever increasing in intensity and meaning, of the conflict of the ages between the forces of Good and the powers of Evil. It shows that the human protagonists, Israel and Babylon, are engaged in a struggle which will only end with "The Battle of That Great Day of God Almighty."
This will inevitably result in the destruction of the forces of evil and aggression, the setting up of a righteous world dominion under the sovereignity of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the sounding forth of "the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings saying, Alleluia for the Lord God Omnipotent reigneth."
Relating the story of the Revelation to the events of history, the author has rendered a great service to all seekers after the truth. He has brought before us "things written for our admonition upon whom the ends of the age are come."
The author feels certain, that the reader of this book can quickly identify our position in relation to the Divine timetable pertaining to the climactic events bringing the present age to its close. Here indeed, he believes, is a disclosure of God's plans and purposes which will impart to all who are looking for His coming a keen awareness of the imminence of the Second Advent.

The last chance for peace prior to the birth of Israel.

This is a brilliant study, collecting and analyzing all the available material on this important committee. The committee presented the only compromise that, at that time, would have led to peace in the Near East. The State Department and the British Foreign Office subverted the proposal until the time became too late. A splendid analysis and an important part of the story of the modern birth or rebirth of Israel.

This is a fine study, which really defines the field. It should be read together with the book "Anglo-American Committee" by a scholar out of Israel, published by Lang in London. This (Podet) one is the far superior work, analyzing the testimony of all the members of the Committee beautifully and summarizing their thoughts better than they did themselves in the testimony. But the author's pro-Zionist slant is visible. The other (Lang) book is a good corrective.

I really enjoyed this book. I am not even a science fiction fan, a friend of mine is and told me to "just read it". He was right. Very well written and entertaining. Starts with the main character in a pschological rehabilitation center relearning to function after having his memory wiped clean. He struggles to find his past. Outstanding read.

This book (and the Vol. II) is a good reference for meteorological basis on phisics and atmospheric sciences itself, I already had thought about buying it here in Brasil (country that I live) but they would cost me about 120 bucks each volume, since on amazon it ended up for about 60 each delivered in my house (ok, It took 4 weeks, but it's a long way for a legless book!!) and, like all my products so far, they arrived in perfect shape.
I've been using those from the library for 3 semesters now, on atmos. dynamics I, Synoptic meteor., micrometeorology and other courses... I'm shure it will be used much more in the future.

This is the 1st of 2 books written by Dr. Bluestein to teach synoptic and dynamic meteorology to undergraduate college students. Unlike other textbooks, this textbook takes the time to show alot more of the steps in the derivation of equations used in meteorology. Of course this has added to the size of the book but the fact that the author has taken the care to include this in his book is quite helpful for those learning meteorology. It is a useful reference book.

An unusual treatise by a non-Chinese on a very Chinese preoccupation. The author understands Taiji well. Studied the art in China - practising madly 6-8 hours daily and madly over 5 years. Good teachers taught him the competitive modern wushu and the older traditional forms. Now understands Taiji weaponry better than even some Chinese in China. Quite accomplished by Chinese standards but believes he needs another 25 years to go. Has a good grasp of the language and the idioms. Therefore, he has an advantage, over even the Western-educated Chinese with poor grasp of idiomatic Chinese, to familarise himself with the greater subtleties of higher Taiji. Not Tom Clancy but infinitely more informative about real Taiji.
