Accessible three ways: through the index, through keywords in boldface type, or through alphabetic browsing, it also is organized
into "trails" one can follow to discover information about a particular topic, e.g. work or everyday life. Uneven coverage,
for example, under the entry for Nile, all that is written is "the main river of Egypt". However, the entry for Hieroglyphs
and writing is 2 pages long. Notwithstanding, there is still much information of value, especially regarding Egyptian gods.

If you are looking for a reference that will summarize what's been happening since forever, this is it. In two volumes, Fay-Cooper
and friends manage to sum it all up. And then they liberally illustrate it all with several photos per page, some in color,
some not. The text is not difficult to read so junior or senior high schoolers could make use of this set to "get their bearings"
on what the teacher is presenting. An excellent work by a well-known and highly regarded anthropologist, the books end at
the close of WWII.

The book on cd was outstanding. The tale of Cicero told from the point of view of his slave, Tiro. Could not wait to listen to every day while driving to work. Much more than a historical novel, you develop a bond with the characters and an emotional commitment for their trials and successes.

This is a unique and pioneering book that offers the reader a moving insight into the experiences of transnational and transracial
adoptees. An essential read for policy makers, researchers, social workers, adopters and adoptees whose prior knowledge base
had been founded on third-party research and knowledge. Transcribed from the contributors own `words' the accounts have not
been politicised, edited or appropriated in order to enter into the wider debate concerning transracial and transnational
adoption.
For the first time, the voices of those who have been hitherto, marginalized and suppressed have been empowered with an opportunity to simply express, through their own mediums of writing, drawing and sculpture, etc., how they have and continue to experience and live with the impact of adoption.
Interwoven with the life-long search for a sense of belonging are accounts of negotiating the immeasurable loss of birth families, heritage, culture and genetic identity whilst transcending feelings of isolation, loneliness, displacement and internalized racism.
Whilst many of the narratives are very emotive and poignant, accounts of resilience and courage are humbling. The contributions are informative, thought provoking, challenging, inspirational and extremely touching. This book will prove to be cathartic for many transracial and transnational adoptees as well as assisting professionals and all those involved in adoption in supporting good practice.

Get ready for a journey in time travel to the recent past when pirates ruled the American coast. Every page is a ticket to
exciting adventure. Every word of this fictional account is unbelievably believable. I felt like I was transported mind
and body to a place of never ending anticipation and drama. Reading In the Time of Worms: An Ancient Tale of Marblehead was
a heart pounding experience that reminded me of the thrill one feels when on a roller coaster. The twists and turns don't
seem to end. I want more.

Although mother's day brings a bit of emptiness, she left behind three sisters who I take advantage of still be here with me. I rushed out to get each one of them Sandi Patty's Artist of My Soul which has a very special meaning to me. It served as one of the most intimate times I ever shared with my mother before she died. So with this mother's day, I decided to share this story which happened to me and mom before she died and accompany it with "Artist of My Soul".
To my suprise, I passed the book shelve and the book listing Sandi Patty as an author caught my eye. I picked it up and then remembered of the most unusual dream about mom singing around a throne singing "isn't He beautiful", and now this re-released song "I've Just Seen Jesus" with a book. Then it seemed to click. Mother's Day, mom "seeing Jesus", etc..... I picked up three copies for my aunts and bought two for my collection.
I listen to the CD which is enclosed in the book's rear plastic holder. Despite knowing the song and listening to it many times, it seemed to be different this time. My aunts all called crying after reading the note I wrote about my dream, the experience I had with mom in ICU while Artist of My Soul played, and how this all seemed to be a little "too perfect" for coincidence.
My rating is five stars for this item. And as for my Sandi Patty, well she will always have a special meaning and serve as a constant reminder of how much God loves me. She will always get 10 stars out of five.
This great song released in the mid 1980's written by the Gaithers serves as a modern day hymn that blessed so many then, and sure blessed one son that misses his mom everyday. Out of this, three aunts were introduced to something "new" and will serve as a reminder of my mom who will live on and on, even if just in a memory or song.
