A Beautifully Written Book of Hope and Inspiration!Review Date: 2005-08-15

educational, spiritually enlightening, thankful for freedomReview Date: 1998-11-26
I could not put the book down because of the excitement of looking ahead. You could almost feel yourself wanting to be their in real life and seeing first hand the events unfold.
The author clearly reveals to me his heartfelt feelings for his heritage, and his writing makes you want to be a part of that past. As I was finishing the final chapters I had to go and find the burial place of "Freejoe", and experience some of his past. What a great feeling it was walking in the cemetary at Gray's Creek Baptist Church.

One of my favourite cookbooks.Review Date: 2003-07-30
I am taken by the quality of the photos that are an exceedingly important part
of the book. It therefore becomes a joy to read because of those excellently selected and arranged photos. Beyond the visual
is of course the substance of the book with its collection of recipes-the body of which are not the usual ones found in collections
of French cooking.
My wife and I have tried a large example of them and they have proved to be easily cookable and extremely
tasty and we anticipate further culinary discoveries as the weeks go by.
This marvelous cookbook is as good as it is, I believe, because the grandmother of Joanne Harris cooked many of these country dishes after they had been passed to her from her grandmothers. The French Kitchen has a decidedly country kitchen take on French cooking and believe me, the book does not suffer because of it.
I loved reading every word in this wonderful book and also loved looking at the inspired photographs and thought all the while that the people at Doubleday who designed such a beautiful book deserve a large bonus for assembling such a delightful book.

From Better to Worse, A Memoir of Unconditional Love is a MUST READ!Review Date: 2007-11-28
She shared with the reader unconditional love that she has for her husband and her friend in spite of her husband's life style. She continued to love him no matter what.
She showed us in the book, "From Better to Worse" to trust in the Lord and lean not to our own understanding, in all our ways acknowledge Him, He will direct our path. She had faith in God and didn't question why this was happening to her and her family. She trusted God.
She made safrices to keep her family together. The sacrifice was keeping the secret of her husband's lifestyle and this disease AIDS/HIV to herself, she went through this painful situation alone; she didn't have an outlet or anyone to cry out to but God. She made the sacrifice to keep this from her children and all those that was dear to them from knowing about this devastating disease until after his death. She chose to go through this thing for better to worse.

An LDS Gem overlooked.Review Date: 2007-05-03
One doesn't have to agree with him to enjoy this book. It is a leap in the right direction, and it was a leap taken a while ago. I don't know why it hasn't been pushed my way before. If you enjoy thinking about some questions in Christianity and/or Mormonism, this book is worth your time (since it is on the thinner side anyway).

Truly Triumphant StoryReview Date: 2008-08-29
During the time of her long and painful rehabilitation, Jessica does not spare herself. She tells it 'like it is' and we are captivated, charmed, entertained and the tears fall shamelessly and unchecked. My husband read her book after me and I saw the tears on his cheeks. He, too, had been through a terrible accident, experienced a brain injury and knew, like Jessica, that it was the will of the individual that caused a person to either overcome or give up. Jessica, of course, did triumph but she made sure that others knew her story - including royalty - and she also went back into the darkness to take the hands of others too afraid to believe that the light could still be theirs once again. Truly a masterful read.
