From AuthorHouse:

Take a walk down the journey that Livvie Gellar calls her life where mistakes are made, promises are broken, and ever so often dreams become reality. On this journey Livvie learns many important lessons among these are losing herself is just as important as finding herself, and arrival is not as important as the journey itself. Each person she meets in her life has a specific purpose and each person helps shape the person she becomes.

Life is full of wonderful and not so wonderful things, but never underestimate the power of friendship or love. Life can consist sometimes of the highest highs, the lowest lows, not to mention every day in between.

I thought this book was excellent, and I continue to think that by educating yourself and those around you, life can change for the better, and we can renew our hope in living in a world less intoxicated by liars, theives and criminals who would rather kill us all than risk losing money over doing something constructive for the planet and the population at stake. Of course, Mr. Shayne is my father, and I edited his book. I standby my review just the same, as I think that the material is something that would benefit the world to know, especially the United States.

This book, in my opinion, is a brilliant piece of work that really opened my eyes. I always had a vague idea about what was going on in our country, but I never realized how ignorant I was until this book enlightened me. We are all fooled on a day to day basis, and I think if we could all open our eyes, and see the facts that are plain as day, we can make a difference and take our world back from these "evil geniuses." If there were more writers and observers as Shayne, I think we would all be much better off.

Robert Greens book showed me how the higher Management in a company does think. We do have different workflows in Europe, but at the end of the day to save money is what counts for all of us.The book is a good source of knowledge, specially for Users that are becoming CAD Managers.
I like the idea that the book is not only written for Autodesk Users.
Users of other CAD Systems will find the Book interesting as well.

This is a great book for CAD Managment, and for users who inspire to be leaders in the CAD field. Even though this book does not directly speak on specific CAD functions it covers a broader look at the task that a CAD Manager/Coordinator must know in order to be succesful in leading other CAD users, and helps you get a better understanding of the business side that we as technical people overlook a lot. If you are a manager or a user that would like to be better at your job or to advance to a better position, I would advise you to read this book.

This book perfectly lays out the picture of world war II prisoner of war camps. From the mistreatment of prisoners by fellow inmates, to the final justice handed out by their captors. This book is highly recommended.

November 4, 1943. Tonkawa, Oklahoma. More than 200 German prisoners of war jammed into the mess hall of their American POW camp. Before the evening was over, one of them, Corporal Johannes Kunzeaccused of treason-would lie in a pool of his own blood, savagely beaten to death by his fellow prisoners.

Within three months, five men present in the mess hall would be accused, tried, and sentenced to death for the murder of Johannes Kunze-a sentence carried out in July, 1945, at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Here, for the first time, the remarkable true story behind these events is revealed: the stark conditions in the POW camps; the tactics used by military intelligence to tempt informants and turn the prisoners against each other; the one-sided legal battle dominated by a sharp young military prosecutor, Lieutenant Colonel Leon Jaworski (of future Watergate fame); and the passions and politics of war which insured that for Kunze and his accused killers, there could be no mercy.

A powerful and controversial account of crime and punishment, EXTREME JUSTICE demonstrates how-beyond innocence or guilt-the search for justice can be lost in the desire for blood-revenge.

This is a must have for die hard gamers who love vampires. It is both extremely useful, and very interesting to read. It gives many ways to spruce up those boring vampire encounters that you may have had. All in all, a great purchase at a fairly low price.

A great supplement for a great game system.

Green Ronin has a winner with this one. It does everything it promises and then some. Whether you want a playable vampire racial template, new feats to customize vampires or simply want advice on how to incorporate or portray a vampire in your campaign this book is for you. Fang and Fury provides both players and DMs with all the tools they need to spice up the vampires in their games. From Daywalkers(think Blade) to Vampire Dragons, from Vampire Mages to cannibalistic Revelers this book has it all.

The only real problem I have with this book is the lack of an index, though the reason for the lack of an index is a good one. They have so much information in this book you'll find the insides of the covers packed with it. All in all one of the better books out there for the D20 system.

A photomechanical reprint of the 1992 Bowling Green University Press edition, Ferris Wheels: An Illustrated History by Norman Anderson is an informative documentation of the ever-popular amusement park and carnival ride. Guiding reader through its remarkable history, Ferris Wheels reveals George Washington Gale Ferris, Jr.'s most creative and timeless constructions through its over one-hundred and ten year history as a key feature for American carnivals and fairgrounds. Profusely illustrated with historical photographs and line drawn sketches, Ferris Wheels is very highly recommended reading and a welcome addition to personal and community library collections.

This book is the ultimate authority on Ferris Wheels. The history of Ferris Wheels is comprehensive and has copious footnotes. The references go deep. There was one reference that caught my fancy, and after extensive searching, found that it is a reference in one library in England, and shows up no where else! The photographs are good, but not great. An excellent and detailed section on patents related to Ferris Wheels. Anderson has written a super 400+ page reference work. Strongly recommended.

If you are over 50 read this book in a private place, you may want to stop and think as you read. You may remember things that others won't understand. If you were in Nam you will remember the good and the bad. If you were not this is a chance to learn what it was like and why those that were have a different view of the world and of themselves.
No matter what you thought of the conflict you will understand the way it was for those that were there and how it changed their lives for ever. And in many ways changed the world.
Bravo Jack, you done good.

The only way I can describe "Fiddler's Green" is WOW. This is a must read for all Vietnam veterans, their families and anyone interested in the Vietnam Experience. Jack wrote the story of Frank, his family and friends only as one who "has been there and done that" can. The mix of humor and sadness makes this book hard to put down. As I read it in one sitting, the memories came back, some bad, but most good. It even made me prouder to be not only a veteran but to have served with men like Jack Stoddard and Frank. Thanks Jack, for a job well done.

This is a collection of sermons preached by John Henry Newman while he was the vicar of the Anglican church of St Mary's in Oxford, ie. before Newman became a Catholic. Because they were aimed at the university students, the sermons are somewhat academic in style, perhaps more like lectures than sermons, and I must admit that this book is not really an easy read. However it is definitely worth the effort.
This book contains ideas that were developed in later works by Newman. Sermons 10 to 14 focus on the relationship between faith and reason, a subject which the author would later explore most fully in his "Essay in Aid of a Grammar of Assent". And the final sermon is on the "Theory of Development in Religious Doctrine" , a subject to which Newman of course returned in his "Essay on the Development of Christian Doctrine."
I would definitely say that the sermons on faith and reason - "Faith and reason contrasted as habits of mind", "the nature of faith in relation to reason", "Love the safeguard of faith against superstition", "Implicit and explicit reason", and "Wisdom as contrasted with faith and with bigotry" - are worth reading for themselves. Newman's brilliance has not been dimmed by the passage of time since the 1800's, and I would say he still has a lot to say to us today, when there is, arguably, a danger of religion as a whole falling into disrepute, due to the actions of religious extemists on one hand, and the writings of people like Richard Dawkins on the other hand! Newman does remind us that faith in God can be a rational choice, does not have to lead to prejudice or bigotry, and that faith involves the mind and the heart.
I strongly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in Cardinal Newman's thought, and in fact it should be in the library of anyone with ambitions to be a Christian intellectual!

No one plumbs the deeps of faith more illuminatingly than John Henry Newman, and in these fifteen sermons he affirms the dignity of our state with an eloquence and conviction that place him in the very first rank of Catholic apologists.

Pounce, gentle reader.

For anyone interested in genealogy and history, in this case the Civil War, and how history and genealogy can tie together, Ron Wooten-Green's book, "A Fine Line of Distinction: in Search of Roots" does just that. Wooten-Green has carefully research details and, while the paranormal is an intriguing way of moving the plot along, there are personal elements and real history that make the reader want to keep turning the pages. Those personal elements include the fact six of Wooten-Green's wife's ancestors and two of his own ancestors actually fought in the Civil War. Indeed -the Civil War, family, and a bit of mystery makes this book an exciting read.

Ron Wooten-Green combines geneology with Civil War history to offer reflections on the impact of death on the living.

The story, which is fiction based on historical fact, centers on Dave Benson, whose dying mother encounters apparitions who, she tells Dave, can help him discover and accept himself. They're his Civil War ancestors--Rebels and Yankees. After mom's death, Dave embarks on an odyssey through musty archives, Civil War battlefields, and the site of a prisoner-of-war camp. He muses that the Union and Confederate soldiers "were fighting not just the war that political leaders started" but also "their own personal wars."

Civil War soldiers' personal wars basically amounted to trying to survive the all-out attempts of enemy soldiers to kill them. Two of Dave's great-great uncles lost their personal wars during the Battle of Antietam, one of the bloodiest engagements in American military history. Another perished at Kennesaw Mountain near Atlanta. But Dave also becomes aware of the personal war between loyalty to a cause and loyalty to family. And his discovery that some of the soldiers were gay, like him, helps Dave validate his own relationship with Gary.

This book raises important questions, and Wooten-Green's compassion, humanity, and thoughtfulness provide the steering winds that keep the reader on course throughout Dave's personal journey.

By the way: Dave's apparitions are actually Ron and wife Linda Wooten-Green's ancestors!
