Mr. Graves' books are beautiful, with realistic yet entertaining line drawings, and comprehensive, enjoyable text. "What Is A California Gray Whale" is being used by a friend of mine in science classes. A great resource for parents, teachers, and (mainly) children. Highly recommended!

As someone who came of age politically listening to and watching Mike Thompson on Southeast Florida television and radio, I was pleasantly surprised to see he had written a book. Mr. Thompson's talk shows and commentaries were definitely instrumental in helping me explore my own political values and form my own political beliefs as a college student and as a young Republican activist.

I had an opportunity to meet Mr. Thompson and have lunch with him about 15 years ago before moving back to North Florida. Knowing that he posesses one of the most brilliant minds in Florida politics, I eagerly awaited my copy of the book and I was not disappointed!

The best part of this book is that you can read it through cover to cover OR you can read parts of it here and there. Just jump in and you will be bombarded with informative facts and opinions about a wide variety of issues. This makes the book not only a great read but an excellent reference tool.

As the Republican State Committeeman in Nassau County Florida, I will eagerly be recommending this publication to my friends in politics. You probably won't agree with everything Mike Thompson has to say (no one can agree with everything anyone has to say) but you will definitely appreciate his wit and wisdom. I am glad to see that Mr. Thompson has not faded into the sunset!

This book is an extremely fun way to introduce how music can touch us all. The words and format are conducive to getting up and dancing right along with the characters in the book. I read this story to a group of pre-schoolers and they had a wonderful time making the instumental noises and dancing a jig. It was great fun!

Excellent romantic fantasy

Tuatha De Danann warrior Boyden comes from the rare species, Idir the between. He is blessed, although some might say cursed, with the power to call forth the deadly fey wind to kill all that lives.

Warrior Princess Scota leads the invasion of what is allegedly the home of the Fey; a race she does not believe exists. Her soldiers have captured Boyden, but her efforts to break him fail. Instead he remains insolent as he knows he can destroy Scota and her force with the fey wind. However, he also finds himself attracted to the equally proud warrior princess. She admires his courage and soon reciprocates his feelings of love. However, trust is a different issue as she rejects his fey heritage and he cannot accept a warrior can work for peace for both people.

The third Tuatha De Danann Fey romantic fantasy (see PREDESTINED and FEY BORN) is a terrific tale as readers will appreciate the changing relationship between the skeptical warrior and the composed prisoner. Although Boyden is Scota's captive, she and readers will wonder just who is in control as his tranquil coolness unnerves her. Fans will appreciate WHITE FELLS as the hero provides a quiet message that with great power comes even greater responsibility not to arbitrarily wield it at every alleged insult. R. Garland Gray provides another exciting read.

As a hard-core sci-fi reader I refuse to read Sword and Sourcery novels. But this little book has opened my eyes. Full of likable, fun characters that you can identify with, this book leads you on quests and through mysteries. You will meet witches, dragons, kings and princes and, of course, cats!

Unfortunately all 8 of Mr. Gray's books are out of print. I have ordered the other (7) through Amazon, but in the meantime, I would happily swap this book for any other of Mr. Gray's. The swap can be permanent or temporary, as you like. Thank you. -John

Windows for the Crown Prince - Akihito of Japan by Elizabeth Gray Vining 1952, 1989.

How much influence can one person have? The author is asked to serve as the private tutor of English for the Crown Prince by the Emperor of Japan in the post WWII era. He lives a life very isolated from the rest of the real world. Her Quaker background and her desire to help him see the "outside" world beyond palace walls helped shape the man who is the figurehead leader of Japan today. Her inside look at the life of the young future leader gives an interesting and informative look at Japan and its people at this time period. A delightful book for people who enjoy history, culture studies, memoirs and Japanese society. Easy to read and enjoy.

Just had the opportunity to read this book. It is all pictures featuring the lives of the men who served with the Air Force and flying some of the amazing aircraft of World War II. This book shows maps of the battle theater and all the little individual battlegrounds, i.e., small islands and large islands in the Pacific which was a vast area to cover for both the Japanese and Americans. Very very good indeed.

T found this book readable and informable. I read it to find out what life was like on the prairies during the depression. The book painted an accurate and vivid account. I loved the discriptions of the grasshopper plagues. I appreciated the account of life in the relief camps. It is very difficult to get such information. I would like to read more books by this author.

This is the adventure of three mullet - friends but with different personalities - as they brave through the elements and the frying pan in their journey through the Florida Bayous. Danger is everywhere and beautifully drawn: sharks, turtles, pelicans and fishermen stalk the book's oversized, colorful pages. Loosely based on a fable by Rumi, the wise mullet's tale has become a Panhandle classic. I cannot think of a better way to help children make sense of the Katrina devastation than its sequel "Ol' Middler Saves the Day: A Mullet Buddy Homecoming."
