One of my favorite stories from my youthReview Date: 2008-01-13
Ty is a boy living with his parents in an old Western town that is now almost a ghost town. In fact, the three people of his family are the only people left in the town. They have a grocery store and they survived because the local ranchers bought their groceries there. However, new and bigger stores have opened in another town and now no one shops there. Ty's parents inform him that they will be moving in two weeks.
Ty is disappointed and he visits the local ranchers, asking them to return to his parents' store. While they are sympathetic, they inform Ty that they simply cannot get all they need at his small store. When Ty learns that his two pen pals are coming for a visit, his parents relent and agree to stay in the town until his friends leave.
The friends bring the diary of their grandfather, which mentions a cave nearby. Their excitement is further enhanced when they read that there is gold in the cave. At first, their search is futile, but eventually they find the cave. Unfortunately, some local mineralogists explore the cave and report that there is no gold in the cave. Ty is then resigned to leaving but when the news of the cave gets out, people come to see it and the town is reborn.
Even though it is a simple story, it remains one of my favorites from my youth. Ty keeps trying until he succeeds and saves his home. That will always be an uplifting story.

COMING TO TERMS WITH LIFE'S RAW DEALSReview Date: 1998-10-23
For 19 years I have served as chaplain for the NBA Washington Bullets/Wizards professional basketball team and I pioneered & pastored three churches during this time. I am a board certified counselor.
This book came out of personal pain. Also I have worked with many people as they have walked through the grieving process. I get a lot of mail from readers of this book from all over the world. It seems to tap into the universal language of suffering.
Here is the review about this book from Bookstore Journal: "Many books similar to 'God Is Not Fair' have been written recently, but Freeman's work is especially noteworthy....Rather than easy, pat answers, Freeman offers solid biblical responses. And at each chapter's end he asks pointed questions that would help readers come to grips with their feelings and reflect on the truth of God's Word. In easy-to-understand terms, 'God Is Not Fair' explains a profound theological mystery. After finishing this book, readers will have the courage to face life's seemingly unfair circumstances and to have faith in God's absolute wisdom and justice."
Some of the chapter titles are: "I Never Want to Hurt This Bad Again", "Buzzard Bait", "How to Balance Your Fuss Budget", "Innocence Lost, Purity Gained", "Skyscraper Theology", and "Don't Lose Your Spit and Vinegar".

Informative and ImaginativeReview Date: 2004-11-02
Reviewing it in 2004, we have not yet seen a moon station, and organized trips to the moon, but we are beginning to see first space tourism trips, albeit for multi millionaires at the moment.
"The moon is up there far away. Would you like to go there?
Someday you may".
The book teaches young boys and girls about space, the moon and space travel. It traces the trip of a little boy and father in a rocket, with astronauts to an international space station, and then to the moon, with the space suits and everything. Suitable for very young readers, for older readers there are always other details to notice. A wonderful little book for learning and for a journey of the imagination, about a scenario that we may really see in the decades to come.

From the Inside JacketReview Date: 2008-05-16
The story of these aircraft is told by an international team of expert aviation writers, and covers their design and production, specialized models and variants, their tactical deployment, the battles they fought in, and the exploits of their pilots. At the heart of the book are the magnificent illustrations of premier aircraft artist Rikyu Watanabe, including brilliant full-color aircraft profiles, detailed interior cutaways, control and weapons systems schematics, and actual squadron insignia. THe painstaking exactness of these paintings and drawings make this book a must for military and aviation historians, aircraft buffs, and model builders.
