My favorite skit from this CD is "Shakespearean Baseball". I am amazed by how many lines from several Shakespeare plays are so artfully worked into this skit.
For the actors out there, we can learn alot about ensemble acting from these guys. Their timing is incredibly crisp, and they really react to one another. They each create several characters in the skits, and must create these characters only through the voice. These are very talented men, who are obviously comfortable working with one another. Like Lewis and Martin, Burns and Allen, Abbott and Costello (to name a few), they are a magical duo.
Highly recommended.

Refreshingly funny comedyReview Date: 2006-03-09
This album contains the very best routines that Wayne and Shuster did. Having been a fan on William Shakespear for as long as I can remember, and a baseball fan for just as long, I mainly bought this album for "Shakespearean Baseball", which presents a baseball game as The Bard might have in one of his plays. Anyone who is remotely familiar with Shakespear's plays will find "Shakespearean Baseball" riotously funny.
Also worth hearing is their version of the investigation into the murder of Julius Ceaser, told ala "Dragnet".
Worth noting is the conspicuous lack of profanity, which totally ruins much of today's comedy routines. Wayne and Shuster realized that being funny does not depend on how many times you use "the F-word", or use Jesus Christ's name as an invective.
I highly recommend this album.

Fun & Nostalgic Trip Back to the '80sReview Date: 2003-01-04
Despite some of the catty remarks and photo alterations (see Mary Lou Retton and Lionel Richie), this book will certainly make you laugh and reminisce if you're a child of the '80s. It's hard to digest all of the info in this book in one sitting (flipping back and forth between the lyrics and answers does lose its appeal after awhile), but halfway into it, you'll be dusting off your old CDs/cassettes/vinyls and playing them while reading this book. The only gripe I have is that there's no index or table of contents to find certain pages quicker; other than that, "Who Can It Be Now?" is a fun and nostalgic trip back to the '80s. Worth reading if you're an '80s fanatic like I am.

"The authors have done their homework...should be required reading..." Review Date: 2008-07-09
Many such books are often pedantic tomes that offer little research, and even less practical usefulness. Not so this one. The author(s) have done their homework. Their bibliography is a 'who's who' of noted researchers in this field, and I cannot imagine any teacher--even one not pursing NBPTS certification--not picking up a wealth of helpful vitae from reading this book.
This work should be required reading in every university education program. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

BARLOW ON GAMBLINGReview Date: 2006-02-01
It promises consistent wins and delivers on that promise .It also promises you won't win millions and that in itself makes it a rarity an honest book on and look at gambling.
For most it won't appeal to the "gamblers blood"or anyone with a short attention span as the progression/regression series require your full focus and attention and would be to much of a grind for most.

Story of God's love in the purest formReview Date: 2006-05-25
This book, Before the Beginning Began, gives us a pure understanding of that love. Frank Cavalli has written this "classic" in a way that every child, whether young or old, can know that he or she was created for a purpose beyond that which we can feel or think.
It is a powerful thing to know that when God threw the "Big Kiss" He thought of me.
Why allow other things to fill your childs heart when it can first be filled with the love of their Heavenly Father who created them.
After reading this book to my Grandchild, Halie, she stated that she felt as if God had kissed her cheek.

Outstanding book for all agesReview Date: 2006-05-11
Artwork is detailed but easy (and fascinating) for a two-year old to view. Lots of little details are imbedded in the pictures for older children to find and learn about firefighting.
The book is slightly wordy for a two-year old, but perfect for ages 4 and up. We summarize each page for our 2-year old son.
I am excited that this book will continue to be one of his favorites as he grows.
A must for children who love Firemen/Fire Trucks!

Good read--lots of great advice!Review Date: 2003-02-10
I found the chapters on diet and weight lifting particularly helpful. Bill Frank gives easy to follow advice on both and the book even has pictures to help the beginners in the gym. It was easy to make my own fitness and diet routine with Bill Frank's guidance.
This book is very easy to read and get through the first time--but I think you'll be going back over and over again to get great advice and knowledge about staying forever young. While you may not use every bit of information provided, I think just about everyone would find most of the book beneficial.
I would definitely recommed this book to anyone--no matter what your age.

WHEN MILLER WAS KING!Review Date: 2007-08-28
These are some of my favorite comics of all time. The stories are a brilliant blend of super hero adventure and film style action and pacing. Not as light and upbeat as some of the books of the time, but not as dark and depressing as the "gritty" stuff Marvel is publishing these days. While I really liked some of the early adventures of DD by Stan Lee, Wally Wood, John Romita etc., for me Daredevil begins and ends with this legendary run. Nuff said.
Vol. 1 of the COMPLETE Frank Miller run of DaredevilReview Date: 2007-05-27
This most wonderful book ACTUALLY contains:
Daredevil #158 - 161 and #163 - 191 as well as the DD story from
What If...? #34!
Cool bonuses are: ALL of Franks DD trade paperback reprint covers, thumbnails and color guides for issue #190, a new introduction and an 1981 interview w/ Frank and Klaus,Frank's DD page from Fantastic Four Roast #1, AND Frank's intries from the Offcial Handbook of the Marvel Universe!
You know you want it True Beliver!

The standard by which all others are judgedReview Date: 2007-05-17
Along the way, the typical hero-villan confrontations became wrought with far greater emotion than had been previously shown. And, yes, the violence quotient was ratcheted up exponentially.
These stories famously became the basis for the Daredevil movie but here they are in their definitive form. The hardcover collection has all of Miller's Daredevil output from the early 80s. In them, you can see the pre-cursor for Miller's own Sin City. Additionally, Miller's pencils were never better than here. Unlike his future efforts, the style does not overwhlem the substance here. His pencils and Klaus Janson's inks mesh in a manner that occurs only a few times in comics history, joining the great penciller-inker teams like Kirby/Sinnot, Swan/Anderson and Byrne/Austin.
The only minus: it does not include the final portion of Miller's DD output: the classic "Born Again" series he wrote in the mid-80s simultaneously with another little thing he was working on called "The Dark Knight Returns". However, that's carping. This is meant to show Miller's work on the monthly when he was expected to write it forever. Of course, that never happens. But, at least we'll always have this omnibus to remind us of what was...

The "Rinse the blood off my toga" sketch is after all these years still a classic and brought tears to my eyes on listening to it now as the poor LP I owned disappeared many years ago.
Indeed all the sketches on the disc are all gems and should be compulsory listening for all students of literature and classic history!
