This dulcimer book is quite good, with a great selection of hymns! The sheet music, words, and tablature are all there; and even a beginner could benefit greatly from this book. The extra chording options are a feature that even the experienced dulcimer player would enjoy. This is an excellent book for your dulcimer abilities to really grow with!

A diamond in the Rough

There just are not that many really good VBScript books out there. And there are even fewer well written VBScript books that target power users, system admins and advanced readers. Well, this book is one of them. It provides a quick review of VBScript (for those that need a primer or a quick overview) and then procedes to demonstrate how to use VBScript to tackle several different projects. This approach provides a great balance between theory and practical hands-on application.

The COMPLETE Repair Manual
Helpful Votes: 8 out of 8 total.
Review Date: 2001-08-09
Think about it. This is a compilation of the 3 original maintanence manuals. What more could you need? I used this one book to keep my 1945 CJ2A on the road continuously from 1983 till now. Everything you need to know is here. I've replaced everything from brakes to pistons using the easily understood instructions. Every job is described with pictures attached. These TMs (TechnicalManuals) were written for G.I. mechanics...so even backyard mechanics like me can still use them. I got my money's worth the first time I used this book.

Do you like to laugh out loud? This book's for you!

On hand to exchange tall tales and plan forays into the Great Outdoors are some of Hardscrabble County's most illustrious citizens, among them Uncle Perk himself, who wrote the club's constitution ("Artikle One: Rules: They ain't no rules."), Angus MacNab, the local undertaker, who frequently drives the membership on overnight camping trips in his hearse...in exchange for a small fee, to cover the wear-r-r and tear-r-r on his tir-r-res; the redoubable Judge Parker, whose judicial robes often fail to conceal big hunting boots, and whose quickest decisions come when the trout are rising.

It's open season on gloom as the Lower Forty begins its new series of misadventures. There's no describing the pandemonium that ensues when Mr. MacNab's precious hearse is stolen, when the boys get together to preserve a trout for posterity, when a wedding celebration is preceded by the explosion of several bottles of homemade elderberry wine.

A Rare but Excellent Early Source for Model A Restorations
Helpful Votes: 16 out of 16 total.
Review Date: 2001-04-24
I purchased this book at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn over ten years ago--and am cursing my luck because I can't find it anywhere. The book was written, I believe, shortly after production of the Model A ended. It therefore recommends the use of very simple tools, something that many restorers on a budget would find welcome today. Also, because this book wasn't created by FoMoCo, it offers some homespun knowledge that can't be found in any official Ford factory bulletins. Even better, it covers some aftermarket parts available at the time. The book is charmingly illustrated with period prints, often showing novel approaches to tackling problems, but sometimes lacking in clear detail. Overall, this is a great resource. Where else can you find step-by-step instructions for removing a Model A body from its frame, or performing a simple alignment, or servicing of the suspension. Now where the heck did I put that book?

Historical and Practical
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 0 total.
Review Date: 2008-04-27
The title of this book is absolutely true. I was revisiting a restoration project on my 1926 Ford that had lain untouched for four years. Although the car was about ninety-five per cent complete, I needed reminders on some of the details of driving and tuning this car. Although this edition is a reprint of a rare 1915 treatise (missing or damaged pages and all), it was exactly what I needed to get the car running again. It also provided step-by-step details on starting and operating this car, which is entirely unlike any car built since about 1930. Even if the reader is not a Model T owner looking for practical pointers, it is still a very interesting historical record because of its contemporaneous context.
