Back in 4th grade I used this book in my GT math class. I recommend all the CMP books to anyone learning or teaching math. Not only do you do fun activities but you learn good. This entire series of books are great and explain well all the material. I haven't incountered anything better to learn middle school math.

"I loved it; the story was touching and would make a great gift to a young person to show them even though we may look different, we all want the same things from life, to be loved and accepted by others.

The illustrations are fabulous; they add richness to the storyline."

This book is timeless and great for kids of all ages!!

Slightly old-fashioned but extremely fun adventure that kids will love

An enthralling read for any young reader interested in Native Americans. A coming of age story about a young Native American, Ghost-of-a-Wolf, who is lame in one leg. When his adolescent friends are elevated to the status of apprentice warriors, he isn't, due to his handicap. But them he learns of a faraway land of magic from a mysterious warrior held captive by his tribe, a place of great power where he might be able to drive the evil spirit from his leg. Alone, he sets out westward to find it and cure himself, or die trying.

My mom read this book when she was a kid, and passed it on to me. I treasured it, and now my eight year old daughter has just devoured it. Written in the 1930s, some of the attitudes in the book are slightly dated but it holds up well, and the language is easy to read for modern kids and oftentimes quite compelling. Great cliffhangers at the ends of the chapters! For precocious readers of 8-9, or perhaps 10-11 year olds.

A Spirituality of Technology

In our hi-tech, speed-obsessed culture, this author believes we need a spirituality of technology. With wit, wisdom and a gift for storytelling, he reflects on the blessings we miss when we rush heedlessly through a crowded day. He offers ample food for thought and practical suggestions, ranging from blessings and prayers for everything from online pilgrimages on the information highway and sending e-mail messages, to using cell phones wisely. He draws from the Celtic, Native American and Jewish traditions in particular and leaves the reader smiling--seriously.

The Hardy Boys At The Jersey Shore
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 1 total.
Review Date: 2005-07-17
"Boardwalk Bust" finds Frank and Joe down at the New Jersey shore investigating a rash of jewelry store robberies.
Along the way they are almost buried alive and drowned!
Nevertheless, the Boys overcome all obstacles in tracking down the culprit amid a slew of likely suspects.
Plenty of action and some decent detecting make this story another winner in the new "Undercover Brothers" series.

Took a lot of guts to write this one!

Great book, easy to read. No doubt that it took alot of guts to publish this one. I am a retired Border Patrol Officer, and I can tell you that this book is very accurate. All federal government employees should read this book before you take the oath and learn what really goes on behind the scenes in our government. All Americans should read this book and see just how corrupt our government really is, & just how INsecure our national security is because of it. Hats off to the brave souls who wrote this one!!!

From the wonderful early readers series "A Bug, A Bear, and A Boy Go To School" encourages early reading skills along with providing early geography, spatial relationship, cause and effect, perspective skills, and directional skills in a story of friendship between a bug, a bear, and a boy and their adventures of a school day. Very cleverly planned and written and wonderful choice for parents to buy their child learning to read or practicing their early reading skills. Highly recommend this book along with the entire A Bug, A Bear, and A Boy series. A+ teaching material for early readers 3 1/2 - 7 years old.

My son loves pioneer stories. But books like Little House on the Prairie mostly feature girls. Here's a great series with a boy as the main character. Highly recommended!
