I read through this book and i was amazed! on the right hand side of the book were drawings, which at first glance were just illustrations for the chapter topics. my colleague pointed out to me several intriguing points. Each piece of art in the book had a hidden message about controllng others and their emotions and their responses to you as the speaker. it's hidden like a code! briliant. it's surprising it's retailing at such a low price. worth it's weight in gold!

Great Book A Must Read!

One of the most easy to follow books for those who aspire to be public speakers or even for those who just want to communcate better. Alvin Teoh and Fabian Fidelis easilly captures the readers by cleaverly using left brain right brain principles to coat this book with alternate pages of text and illustration. An excellently layed out book which is a must read!

The manual is updated, easy to reference and full of immediate use material. The diagrams and tables are superb and easy to navigate. The explanations are perfect for the "new" and the experienced for the immedidate reference "with benefits" of deeper understanding.

Witt's book is the best of its kind -- it illuminates the history and legal developments of the turn-of-the-century modern factories and their beleagured workers with stories of the historical players, the thinkers, and the judges and legislators. Witt is accessible to all and I have not stopped thinking about the book and its significance to today's tort laws since.

Only because I own it...

It's a shame to see it being sold for so little. I owned this since '93, stored away and forgotten, in hopes to see it increase in value. *Sigh* Maybe an Ebay auction is in order.

Now, as far as the comic is concerned: Insightful, with talks of x-factor and what happened to that huge space station, Greymalkin. They left out conversation about his 'twin' brother Stryfe. But, nice artwork and cover. I heard/read the author/illustrator went on to bigger and better things as well.

Contains the 3 issues that are a crossover with X-Men v.2, #197-200

"Cable and Deadpool" is one of my favorite comics -- action, laughs, recap pages that break the "fourth wall," and interesting characters! The cover is from issue #36, where Deadpool -- with manacles on his wrists AND ankles -- fights Taskmaster. Then the Rhino gets revenge for the time Deadpool made him tiny and used him for a keychain. Enjoy the Three Strikes Bar, where [loser] supervillians get their booze. There Rhino and friends try to have "fun" with Deadpool.
That's followed by Deadpool being asked to track down Agent X, who has been missing for 3 weeks. That's the same adventure that had Deadpool joining Agency X and (more importantly), introduced Bob, Agent of Hydra!
If that weren't enough, T-Ray wants revenge on Deadpool, a fight that definitely makes Deadpool glad he has a healing factor.

As I wrote in my title, issues 40-42 are a crossover with the Hecatomb storyline that's reprinted in X-MEN: SUPERNOVAS by Mike Carey, except for "X-Men" v.2, #200, which will be reprinted in X-MEN: MARAUDERS.
We get to see quite a bit of what goes on in Cable's mind as the Hecatomb starts killing the citizens of Cable's artificial Pacific island, Providence. Did you wonder what happened to Sabretooth in that story? Find out here! (He deserves it...) If you've heard about the C&DP issue where Cable's thoughts seem to mirror his fate as a comic book character, you'll find it reprinted here.

Because I've been known to buy reprint books based upon who appears in them, have a cast list: Agent X, Black Box, Blind Al, Bob, Agent of Hydra, Nicole Boose, Sandi Brandenberg, Cable, Cannonball, Conrad, Deadpool, Domino, Ev Teel Urizen the Mummudrai, Gambit, General Hartecourt, Hecatomb, Hydra, Iceman, Infinity T.A. P., Johann Kriek, Lady Mastermind, Irene Merryweather, Mystique, Outlaw, Prester John, Professor (Cable's computer), Rhino, Rogue, Sabretooth, Senyaka, Karima Shapandar(Omega Sentinel), Slough, Sunfire, T-Ray, Taskmaster, Weasel

If you absolutely must have EVERY appearance of your favorite, even if it's a one-panel, non-speaking, someone's memory cameo: Apocalypse, Beast, Colossus, Cyclops, Feral, Jean Grey, Nightcrawler, Polaris, Reaper, Rictor, Sauron, an old-style Sentinel, Shatterstar, Storm, Stryfe, Sunspot, Tempo (?), Warpath, Wildside, and Wolverine

If battles with Apocalypse's mutates from when Cable still lived in the future interest you, there's a flashback to that period.

Dr. Biancardi is a brilliant man. I have had the fortunate opportunity to experience his intro to American Politics at RCC a couple years ago. I am now a Junior at the University of Redlands and a Government major as well.

I have not had the opportunity to read Democracy and the Global System but judging from Dr. Biancardis' training at the University of London School of Economics and his brilliant lectures, I am sure this is an excellent text.

It's like The Red Balloon only I liked it better

Review Date: 2006-12-21
I came across this gem while I was teaching English in Caracas. I was very frustrated when I finally decided to give up struggling with advanced Spanish and drop down from serious material to children's books. I was immediately drawn to this book and its fantastic illustrations. Even though it is a children's book it involves a serious subject.

It takes place during Argentina's Guerra Sucia when the military came to power by coup d'etat and secretly began eliminating its perceived rivals. A young boy living in Buenos Aires learns that his family is on the hit list. They are forced to flee Bs. As. and seek shelter with relatives in Paris. The boy must leave behind his beloved cat. In Paris he is lonely and withdrawn. His father takes him to the shelter to find a new cat. He is drawn to the aloof cat with a superior attitude (read Parisian). The cat becomes a mentor and best friend to the boy and together they have all kinds of adventures. This book reminded me of one of my mother's favorite books, The Red Balloon, except I liked it better. This book was pure pleasure reading and it's one the few I remember from my time in Caracas.
