Like most people that lived through the JFK assassination I can remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I heard the news of his death like time stoped. I never believed what the United States government passed off as factual rationale, for the cause of this tragedy. The Warren Commission report did not make sense. I read it in the 1965 and could sense that something was not right. A friend of mine recommended this book to me she knew I was like a majority of people alive, thinking that we would go to our grave not knowing what really happened to JFK. It was her husband a career law enforcement official that convinced me to read this story; it was the best documentation surrounding the crime he claimed. Mr. Hemingway takes you on a trek that only he and JFK traveled while presenting new facts that I have never heard and would have never thought of. I would have never imagined that murdering someone over a political mistake could have caused the turmoil it did. So much of the story sounds like what is going in the United States today, it borders on surreal. The book made me livid. When I was finished; there was a lot of corruption exposed. Truly I can accept this research as fact and this gives me a sense of closure to this grave incident in United States history. Some minor editing changes could be made but it did not overshadow the ground breaking content and earthshaking ideas made this incredible.

This is a whole new twist on the JFK assisination. The writer presented some very interesting facts which I think should be looked into further. Possible movie plot???

It is becoming more and more clear that the US Government has not be honest with the masses. This book helps the reader draw a FACTUAL conclusion of what the US Government has been up to using strong and organized evidence. While the first edition has some typographical errors, it remains that Hemingway delivers a strong case.

This book reveals a highly plausible theory as to why JFK was eliminated. It is a fascinating theory full of detail and research on why JFK was killed. A must read for anyone who doubted the Warren Commission findings. This book belongs in our Universities and all JFK buffs' collections.

The Get-To-The-Point Success Reader Volume 1 is a compilation of articles about success and how individuals achieve this success. Success, in this case, is defined as achieving your personal ideal. In other words, you will be most successful when you strive to achieve your ideal self and find your own unique niche. Basically, as one article states "Wrapped up in every human being there are energies which, if unfolded, concentrated, and given proper direction, will develop the ideal". Common threads in these articles include the beating the fear of criticism, changing your pessimistic dominating thoughts to more optimistic ones, and shear stubborn perseverance in the face of seemingly impossible challenges.

The Get-To-The-Point Success Reader Volume 1 is a very uplifting, inspirational book. This book reminds the reader that dreams can only be achieved if he or she moves towards them. Many of the articles, quotes, and quips remind the reader of this fact. This book also realistically states that fear, criticism, and other various challenges are all part of the process, few individuals get success handed to them.

Even with technological advancements, changing methods of doing business, and a changed lifestyle there are elements of success that are as applicable today as they were over 50 years ago.

Rodney Ohebsion, the editor of the book, "The Get-To-The-Point Success Reader, Volume 1", has taken the works of Napoleon Hill, Orison Swett Marden, Samuel Smiles, Herbert N. Casson, and Charles F. Haanel and selected sections of their work that are key to success, not only during the time these authors wrote them but for today's time. Rodney has eliminated sections that are no longer relevant today. He also gives you a brief biography of each author.

The title of the book truly fits the book as you do "get to the point" quickly. It is amazing that the works of these authors and the wisdom in their words still apply today.

I would highly recommend this book. It is a unique book that gives you the knowledge and wisdom of many legendary authors with the key elements of success!

The editor, Rodney Ohebsion has a good idea. Sift through eight classic books dealing with "how to succeed" and condense them to 240 pages of the best-of-the-best concepts. Cull out the shiniest nuggets of advice and put them all in one place, so today's reader (with the attention span of a gnat) doesn't have to wade through a bunch of boring stuff to get what they need.

And indeed, the Success Reader is packed with nuggets of wisdom. It's interesting, fast reading. Still, here is my basic problem with this approach: The passages that made the grade here are the ones the editor found most insightful at the time he put this compendium together. As an avid student of this type of book, I've read some of the volumes in their entirety, some many times. And what I've found is that each time I read, I get something different--and I suspect I glom onto the passages that are most relevant to whatever my issues of the moment are. So some of the passages Mr. Ohebsion included are the same ones I have highlighted in my much worn original copies of these books--but some are passages I skimmed and obviously didn't find so interesting. And some of the gems I underlined and starred were not included.

Still, that's not to say the Success Reader isn't a worthwhile investment. Particularly if you are not familiar with the works of Napoleon Hill, Orison Swett Marden, Samuel Smiles, Herbert N. Casson, and Charles F. Haanel, this book is a fantastic introduction to their concepts. These guys were some of the pioneers who inspired uncounted later books on positive thinking, creative visualization, strategies for success, and overall life satisfaction. They wrote these books before there was a "Self-Help" or "New Age" section in every bookstore. But be aware that this condensed volume is only a launching pad. If the writings of one or more of these authors pique your interest, get the original texts and read them in their totality. See if you don't pick up a few more gems of wisdom you need.

More than 25 years ago, I took part in a self-help workshop entitled "Money Love." Having thought of my poverty with virtuousness for years, I found it hard to sign up for a workshop dedicated to improving my material lot, let alone absorb the message of the instructor shared with us. One of the many books she included was Napoleon Hill's `Think and Grow Rich.' Now at that time, this seemed a preposterous title. How could you do such a thing. Yet, I am here to report that Hill is correct, "What the mind conceives and believes, it will achieve." Yes, you do have to have an idea of where you are going if you intend to get there. And, you have to risk - or "go out on a limb to get the fruit." The biggest risk of all of course is changing the way you think. We humans tend to cling to outmoded thinking long after it no longer serves our purpose.

In THE GET-TO-THE-POINT SUCCESS READER, Rodney Ohebsion has compiled the most salient points from books by Hill and others (Orison Swett Marden, Samuel Smiles, Herbert Casson, and Charles Haanel) who long ago pointed the way to individual success for those who would read, absorb, and practice the principles they taught. I can testify that this material really works in terms of material success and position. Within ten years of being introduced to the material, I moved from a minor position in retail sales to that of an executive with a large corporation, and I did it during the dismal 80s.

Will it work for you? I don't know, but I am willing to bet if you read it, absorb it, and take it to heart it will. I am so immersed in this material, that I am not a good judge of whether a "quickie" version has the same effect. However, if you have read the books summarized in Ohebsion's book, his little "get-to-the-point" book is a good refresher, and if you haven't read the books, his book can give you some insights into the material in the original sources.

Ohebsion has provided the reader with a quick reference to carry around and dip into as time permits. You can carry the book in your back pack and read it standing up on the subway, while eating your lunch on a park bench, or in your favorite chair at home. Go ahead..take a risk and read it.

Goblin Market, a verse fairy tale that was first published in 1862, is a rather fascinating piece of masterful poetry. It tells a wonderfully sensuous tale that has inspired a myriad of interpretations. I've spent more time reading about Goblin Market than I did actually reading it - savoring it, rather, for it really calls for a much more personal treatment than a mere reading. This pre-Raphaelite work harbors latent eroticism that echoes with both renunciation and desire. Thus, some term it a work of repressed Victorian eroticism and grin knowingly (and leeringly) as they recount the fact that Goblin Market was quite a popular children's fairy tale in its day. Christine Rossetti was herself a recluse along the lines of Emily Dickinson, allowing her heart to sing freely even as she kept herself separated from any possible objects of her latent desires.

In the poem, one sister gives in to the temptation of the forbidden fruit offered by the dark goblins forever lurking in the twilight to seduce their victims to a first taste of their exotic wares. The desire to obtain more of the passion fruit overtakes her young life, yet the goblins appear to her no more; as a result, she begins to waste away near to death. At this point, her sister, who sensibly avoided temptation, willingly seeks to bargain with the goblins, only to have them force their juicy wares upon her. The fruity residue is enough, however, to revive her sister. The act of salvation is obviously the juiciest part of the story on a number of levels - such a sensual act between sisters, with lines such as "Hug me, kiss me, suck my juices" and "Eat me, drink me, love me," cries out for interpretation of all kinds - and those quick to criticize the hypocritical prudishness of Victorian society have a veritable field day with it.

Some say this is not a poem for children's ears? Balderdash. Like any masterful work of poetry, Goblin Market can be read and interpreted on many levels. Children will delight in its lyrical rhyming patterns, its allusions to wee goblins hawking the most delicious of fruits, and interpret the salvation of the tempted sister in comparatively innocent terms. I say leave the interpretations to the adults. And what interpretations there are of this lengthy poem. Some see in it a recreation of the genesis story, a story of sacrifice and redemption, a tale of lesbian yearning, a declaration of the power of sisterhood, a commentary on women as commodities in market society, evidence of sexual molestation by Rossetti's father, etc. There's no limit to the interpretations put forth about what is, on the surface, an engaging fairy tale set to verse.

This is a fascinating work of lyrical poetry that can be read fairly quickly yet will sustain your interest through multiple readings, all sorts of fascinating research into analysis and interpretation, and just plain wonderment. As sensual as it is beautiful, Goblin Market is probably one of the most fascinating and insightful products of Victorian literature.

I wonder if the good folk at the end of the 19th century when this poem was originally published were just too obtuse to understand the gist of Rossetti's work; if so, we have an innocent artifact that has evolved into something erotic because of our twentieth century sensibilities (we have dirtier minds than our compatriots from the past).

Don't let the word "erotica" scare you away. This is not a blatantly sexual work in its language; it is not a "dirty" book. Just understand that despite what anyone else says or writes, this is about as unambiguously EROTIC as you can get. With phrasing like "Eat me, drink me, love me; Laura, make much of me; For your sake I have braved the glen; And had to do with goblin merchant men."

Since the original work is now in the public domain, if you want to read the full text online just do a search using most standard search engines with the terms "Christina Rossetti Goblin Market" and you should turn up a number of links to the actual poems, go read it, and decide for yourself about it.

This makes a wonderful gift for people you are very close too. However, it is also a very personal poem, and if given inappropriately could actually scare someone away!

Noted Italian/English poetess of the 1800's Christina Rossetti's imagination catching poetry has stood the test of time, being still loved and studied today. Because of its title, Goblin Market sometimes gets put into a juvenile category, but this is a poem for mature readers. This moral tale depicts the epic struggle between bad and good. The goblin's onslaught on virtue immediately engages the reader's inner ear and heart. This poem is really gripping reading. Goblin Market is often considered Christina Rossetti's best poem. This re-issue, replete with noted illustrator Arthor Rackham's beautifully eerie drawings, is a book worth owning.

A children tale for adults. It's a light and thoughtful reading. The story of two sisters and lewd goblin men. Innocence, temptation and emotions all together. This inspiring story has wonderful work of Dante Gabriel Rossetti.

This tale is not about sexuality but about redemption and the need to help others. Read deep into the story to find the meaning that Rossetti intended.

The first and best of a family saga during the mid 1800s in England, when industry changes everyone's lives.

I can think of few better authors to take along on a long plane ride than Delderfield. God Is an Englishman is the first of a trilogy that runs a little out of gas by the end of the third book, but not in the first. To Serve Them All My Days got me hooked on Delderfield, and this series continued it. I can also recommend his book Diana. Alot of his works are out of print, although you can find them at liabraries, or Amazon's auction site -- or bookfinder.com

I am 15 and I loved God is an Englishman. Historical fiction is my favorite genre and the hours I spent on the 816 pages flew by. I found myself trying to finish my homework as early as possible so that I could get to the book before bed. It was also wonderful because it gave me so much to relate to in my Modern European History Class, where we are studying the same time period. I understand the events that we are learning about much more clearly because of Adam and Henrietta Swann. Everyone should read this book, I can't wait to read the other two!

This book has apparently stood the test of time. While I read it, I had no idea that it had been written 30 years ago. The historic details are magnificent, as is Delderfield's sense of English geography. The story is rather simple and predictable however. And the characters are too perfect. No character is this book is ever in danger of knowing failure, and to me, that detracts from their depth.

This book is a must read for any Anglophile. The story traces the development of a haulage firm that serves all of Enland and Wales and part of Scotland. While that is the major focus, the family life of the founder of "Swan on Wheels" is very much a part of it. In fact, all the characters involved are well presented with divergent and believable personalities.

I unashamedly admit I loved this book. It was such a glorious flash back to my youth. And the silly songs/rhymes we used to sing/chant. I even shared this with my 11 year old son. Who was rather confused by this practice of "stupid songs" but enjoyed learning a few with me, and I even caught his singing "greasy grimey gopher guts" to my baby the other day..who adored it.

As the other reviewers have stated, this is a great collection of naughty rhymes and chants from childhood. However, I have to agree with the psychiatrist. I would have liked more analysis. This seems to be a great topic for somebody's doctoral thesis. How do these verses originate? Are most of them created by children for children? What can we learn about children from them?

On second thought, maybe it is best that these verses remain under wraps. There is something to be said about an under the radar way that children have to harmlessly express their rebelliousness.

If you love subversiveness, I'd also suggest Nick Bantock's , "Averse to Beasts," a book with a cassette filled with creepy little ryhmes!

I had two immediate reactions on reading this book: "Yep, we had that one - words aren't quite right, though" and "Wait a minute! Where's (such-and-such) rhyme? How did they miss that one?" This is a great book, and a very useful reference for those who didn't realize that they do, in fact, know the tune to "The Old Gray Mare" (see title of book), "The Colonel Bogey March" ("Comet! It makes your lips turn green. . .") and "The Whiffenpoof Song" (several insulting versions lampooning schools). This book will take you back to your childhood. That's not the childhood that you're going to claim to your kids that you had, but the actual one where you made up nasty names for school food. Mind you, if you allow your children to read this book, you will receive many, many indignant phone calls from the parents in your neighborhood, but I'd say it's worth the risk.

i swiped this book from my brother who swiped it from my mother who got it at a used book sale- so its been around the block a few times. i am now 16 an begin using this book at the age of 10. manny a days were spent at the lunch table with my frineds laughing at- and using these rymes( such as; hark the harold angles shout! # more days till school gets out! grab you ball and grab your chan, and run like hell to the nearist train) sooner of later it became known as " the bible" to my groop.all thse yesrs it has been a tresured posetion of mine, and from time to time i bing it out once more to my friends- and it still keep us laughing.

This is a super book, A must in every CART fan's book collection. Just a shame it had to be written.

When you combine the writing skills of Gordon Kirby and the legend of Greg Moore you get an outstanding book. There must be some really great racing going on in heaven. Although no book could do justice to Greg's life, this book comes close. I love everything that Gordon writes and this book is one of the most highly prized. This book is mandatory for any true Cart fan.

It's an awesome review on Greg's life, with hundreds of color pictures... It tells the story beautifully. A must for every Greg and CART fan.

This book about the young Canadian motorsport icon honours the life of one of the most cheerful and passionate drivers in CART racing. As a fellow Canadian, I have been well-informed about the young Maple Ridge, B.C. native and have enjoyed watching him climb to the top of the victory podium. A terrific biography of Greg Moore has been collected in a very indept account told by his beloved family through pictures and excerpts. Excellent pictures tell the journey that Greg Moore had taken from his first encounter with a motorized vehicle to the 1999 season where he drove the 800-plus horsepower Players champ racing machine.

It is hard to believe after looking at this book that a young Canadian who was taken from this earth all too soon could live such a full life.

Man, when I saw this book I thought "It must be great!" And when I had it on my hands it was even more perfect. For those fans who lost their idol there at Fontana, this is a must. It's the perfect book for a great driver and an even greater person.

You will find every thing described here from the perenial wisdom literature to various "new age" movements and personalities. I know I've refered to it any number of times over the years. The author generally gives concise but fairly comprehensive entries that leave you informed about the essentials of the subject without overwhelming you. Should you desire to know more, she gives you both cross references to other entries, as well as, a listing of sources that go into more depth.

It is obvious to me that Rosemary Ellen Guiley knows what she is talking about on such subjects. She fully understands what she has gleaned from her sources. She is is very perceptive. Nor have I found an error to date with those subjects that I am personally familiar with. Also, she is clearly not totally credulous- if a topic is somewhat...dubious... she doesn't hesitate to point it out.

Perhaps it isn't totally comprehesive, but no source short of the Akashic Records (page 4) can claim that....

As the name implies- Harper's Encyclopedia of Mystical & Paranormal is just that- all entries are comprehensive and presented in a textbook format. This could be a valuable research tool- entertainment value is somehow on the low end- but it (somehow) makes up for it for the well researched entries as well as the unbiased discussion of the Mystical and paranormal.

It was not long after a group of friends laughed in my face over my life-changing conversion to from atheism to Christianity that I picked up this book, billed as "the classic guide on evangelism." Not only did it turn out to be a big help for sharing my faith; just as important, it gave this baby Christian a better handle on the teachings of Christianity, and answered many of my most pressing questions - including why simply leading a good and moral life won't get anyone to heaven.

I was always curious about how my discussions of Christ would be understood by non-christians, so when I discovered this book I thought it might shed some light onto this. This book was first published in 1966, and when you start to read it, its age is very apparent. Once I got by how dated some of the context appeared, I was able to pull many useful ideas out of it. The part I without doubt will be going back to is a chapter where he discusses some of the most common questions non-christians ask about our religion. The authors answers are very well thought out, and in my mind, simply brilliant.

Picture it as an 'energy-drink' kind of book. It makes me so excited about my Jesus and my faith. Mr. Little gives some hard-core suggestions on sharing your faith, and at the same time he doesn't forget to teach you to stay connected with the ultimate Power. Now I have real facts about my faith. I feel more confident that I can tell my friends about what I believe in. I use his suggestions in my Bible studies, and they're drawing me closer to my God.
I can't wait to let my friends know!

Paul Little's classic work, How to Give Away Your Faith, offers a simple yet often times profound look at one of the "hardest" tasks of the Christian life: evangelism. Witnessing is hard. Most Christians try to stay away from it and those who do evangelize often prove to be more of an embarrassment to the faith than a witness. How are we to faithfully proclaim the gospel of Christ to a world in need? How do broken clay jars carry an eternal message of hope and life to the thirsty and starving? In seeking to answer such questions, Little charts a helpful course for those who seek to be Christ's ambassadors to the world.

Be Real! The world's need for Christ is real and his help is a necessity. Christ and Christianity are the only real answers to the world's need. We must be aware of this need and we must sincerely and truthfully proclaim the wonders of his name. It is our duty to live a life of genuine faith and sincerity of mission because superficial Christianity is empty and meaningless. Our focus should be ultimately placed on things eternal while seeking to remedy things material. Our goal is to have others not just assent to the facts of Christianity but to believe in the Christ of Christianity.

How then are we to witness? First, Little highlights the necessity of evangelism for our own personal spiritual growth. It is necessary to witness the power of the gospel. Then we must obey. Evangelism is a matter of obedience. Obedience to Christ brings forth proclamation of his truth. Little proceeds to list seven steps toward active evangelism. First, we must have contact with others in a social context. Secondly, we must seek to establish a common interest with the purpose of bridging communication. Then we must provoke an interest in spiritual things. Fourthly, we must recognize when we should stop and when we should continue on sharing. We also must not condemn those whom we are witnessing too for their various sins. Sixthly, we must not become sidetracked. We must stick to the main message. Lastly, we must call them to repentance. We must call them to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ that they might be saved.

How do we handle those "ticklish" awkward situations? Our desire is to have the unbelievers with whom we are in contact to begin to respect us even though we are different. As they begin to respect us so they will also begin to listen to us instead of viewing us as weird or insane. But awkward moments will come and the best thing we can do is to be prepared for them. We should anticipate difficult situations and have alternatives to comfortably work through them.

As ambassadors of Christ it is our duty to proclaim his message. The messenger must know and understand the message for the purpose of being a faithful and knowledgeable ambassador. Little sums up the gospel message in Jesus Christ himself - "who He is, what He has done, and how He can be known in personal experience" (56). He suggests following the pattern of problem, diagnosis, cure for setting forth the message of the gospel.

Further, ambassadors cannot just know the message but they must also believe it and live it. We don't have all the answers, but we nonetheless must be ready to give a reason for the hope within us. There are many questions, which non-believers have, but their basic problem is one of moral unbelief. They have rejected their creator and traded his truth in for a lie.
Christ is the answer to those questions, which are asked. However, he has left it as our duty to show the helpless and lost the importance and relevance of Christ in answering those questions. Christianity is true because Jesus is the truth. He is the relevant truth the world needs.

So how are Christians to witness to a corrupted world without compromising our holiness? It is our duty to reach out to the world, but we must not succumb to worldliness. We must recognize that all of our life is God's and we are to live as unto him and for his purposes. We should live all of life cognizant of being stewards of God's time and we must strive to live a life of constant witness to the truth.

The gospel is not just for a one-time salvation event; the gospel is for life. Faith in Christ, the object of our salvation, must continue throughout the Christian life. We are in a daily battle but with Christ it is a victorious battle. We battle against our secret self; against sins both external and internal. This battle must be fought with the Sword of the Spirit and it must be waged through the power of prayer. We also battle over time and priorities, which must be aligned with God's prerogative. In doing so we will have fought a victorious battle.

Witnessing is not optional for the Christian. In fact, as Little has shown, it is vital to the Christian life. It is a matter of obedience to our Creator and Redeemer. Little, offers a helpful guide toward developing better witnesses. While he offers various witnessing helps he goes beyond the task of evangelism and hits the witness himself. This is where Little is most valuable and while this work will be used for some years to come.

The book had many positive and negative aspects. In one example Little says that a Christian may allow a roommate to leave pornographic magazines around the shared area but he or she should put his or her "foot down" when the roommate invites someone of the opposite sex to sleep over (82); however both circumstances should not be tolerated. A few pages prior, Little mentions, "Do not condemn the other persons and do not compromise your own convictions" (75)-tolerating pornographic magazines to be left out in the open is a compromise and a possible source of temptation. Christians are called to be holy, and to say nothing about the porn magazines is the same as condoning it. The Bible exhorts that Christians are to "take no part in the worthless deed of evil and darkness (Eph. 5:11 NLT)." The Christian should ask that the roommate keep porn magazines in his or her own personal living space.

Little mentions that there is an "absence of an explicit biblical standard" regarding alcohol consumption. He states that French Christians often drink wine because it is part of their culture (149). There is a certain people group in the United States who was infamous for making "moon shine" and would probably consider alcohol consumption as part of their culture. Just because one is accustomed to certain practices does not mean that the act is acceptable. Christians are called to put an end to selfish desires that impede on a relationship with God (Galatians 5:24 and Romans 21:1).

Little asserts that praying over a meal before eating is not a "witness vehicle" so he suggests that Christians ought to pray with eyes wide open so as not to offend anyone (79). Jesus states, however, "For whoever is ashamed of Me...of him the son of Man also will be ashamed (Mark 8:38 NKJV)." Praying in public may not be a witnessing tool, but Christians should not be afraid of what others would think if he or she prays silently before a meal.

On a positive note, the inclusion of study questions and the suggestions for group leaders would be helpful for a church evangelism class. The questions evoke a response from the student, forcing him or her to make practical applications of the chapter's content. For instance, one of the questions in chapter five, "What is Our Message," asks, "What would you reply to a person who said, `I'm glad Christ will forgive my sins but I haven't got anything to repent of. I'm as good as the next guy'? (103)." Another from the same chapter asks a question but also poses a challenge, "Prepared with new insights from this chapter, would you like to contact someone in order to explain or clarify the gospel or to help the person continue in Christ? Consider doing so this week (103)."

Little explains that sometimes non-Christians refute or seriously doubt the reliability of the Bible. To this, Little counters by asking for specific examples, which he observes very few people ever give (121). In fact Little insists, "We don't have to be answering questions all the time. We can pose a few questions for him, too" (114). For example, Little's question for those who deny Jesus Christ as the only way to God is "Since you don't believe Jesus Christ was the Truth, which of the other three possibilities about Jesus Christ do you believe? He was either a liar, a lunatic, a legend or the Truth" (114).

The first edition of Paul Little's book was published in 1966 and was updated by his widow, Marie Little, who republished it as a second edition in 1988. It is amazing how the examples are still relevant. Little's quest to help people present the good news in a "relevant" way and to communicate the gospel effectively to those who find it strange or foreign was achieved (13). Not only does Little equip people with the purpose, method and challenge of evangelism, but also devotes several chapters on strengthening the inner spiritual qualities of Christians. Two reflective questions he posed were, "Are we convinced that our behavior is giving glory to God?" (153), and "Am I doing this and not doing that because of love for Jesus Christ and a desire to honor and glorify Him? Or is the real reason a cultural bias that won't hold if I move from one social or cultural group to another?" (158). Little believed that an "inner spiritual reality" of spending time with God in prayer, worship and fellowship is crucial for becoming an useful witness (190). Little's book prompts the reader to realize and to act according because "the greatest favor you can do for others is to introduce them to Jesus Christ" (11).

As always Charles Stanley is on target and very helpful with all he writes and all he is led to speak!

Charles Stanley is used by God to communicate very clearly. This book has helped my wife and me and so many other friends to understand and deal effectively with adversity. It will help believers mature to a new level and is also a great witnessing tool to unbelieving friends and family since adversity is common to us all.

This life is full of changes and turns in the road. Adversity is a given. This book is encouraging and helpful in dealing with difficult times in our lives. It gives hope and assurance of our loving Father's control over all things. Trust in Him to weave your adversity into the fabric of your life to make you into the image of Christ. Adversity need not be a stopping point in life, but rather a time to draw near to God and learn from him how to overcome and prosper. I recommend this book very highly.

I have read this book three times, each at a point of pain and difficulty. This is a great book and a mighty tool that God has used to change my life. We cannot choose what trials come into our life but our choices will determine what it will do to us. This book will equipt you to choose wisely. I recommend it to everyone, for adversity will come to all, sooner or later.

Everyone seems to know how to tell us the best way to handle troubles these days. Charles Stanley knows how to tell us the Scriptural way, and truly writes from the heart of God.

Frankly, this book is only matched by the Joseph story in learning how God wants us to handle adversity. "With Joseph in the University of Adversity" is one of the best on this.

Both this, and the Joseph book speak to us from the heart, and not from the lofty heights of pedantic scholarship. Dr. Stanley is loved by nearly everyone. His unique in insight into surviving adversity will only add to his followers!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

This is one of the best management books I have ever read! Many of the Mr. Andrews' insights match perfectly with what I have experienced working as a business consultant with numerous European companies. He gives a great synopsis of the basic principles of leadership and management. It's a must-read for managers (of all levels), HR-professionals, consultants and executive coaches!

An excellent book that sheds new light on the theme of leadership at the top. How To Think Like a CEO and Act Like a Leader is a practical, no nonsense approach to leadership. Mr. Andrew captures the essence of leadership in this well written book.

At long last, here is a book about business that is easy to read, easy to understand, contains valuable quotes and covers just about all one needs to know in the business world. It has taken me 34 years to acquire this knowledge. If only I had this book to read, back then. I recommend this book not only to someone who is new to the business world, but for anyone, whether in business or not, for the knowledge, experience and insight it imparts. Thank you Mr Andrew.

A must read. Having received an MBA in the 70's and running a small business for over thirty years I found relevance on two major points. The writing is an excellent review of MBA principles and offers insight into current leadership thinking. A concise work I would recommend to all levels of management.

How to Think Like a CEO and Act Like a Leader: Practical Insights for Perfomance and Results is a book with simple, practical and everyday common sense. These qualities make this book a must for any person in business and in life. If our grade schools could teach the lifeskills addressed in this book to our young they would have a headstart in living a honest and rewarding life in the community as well as in business. I highly recommend this gem.
