I thoroughly enjoyed this man's writings and only hope he follows through with more of his memories in later editions. And, I also hope he finally wound up with a copy of Black Beauty that he could call his own!

Hamptons BohemiaReview Date: 2002-07-06
The illustrations were an important part of my enjoyment of this book. Almost every page contains a painting by a Hamptons artist, or an offbeat photograph of a group of Hamptons writers or painters. And the illustrations are beautifully done.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

A wonderful collection of Edward Bach's writingsReview Date: 2001-04-17
Great in-sight and understanding to the magical healing world of Edward Bach's Flower Remedies.
Flowers that healReview Date: 2004-05-08
The main body of the book is a detailed treatment of each of the 38 remedies, from Agrimony to Willow. Each entry has an affirmation and indication (what problems it is effective for) in Bach's own words. There are also full color photographs of the whole plant and the flower, plus black and white illustrations of these.
These entries also contain detailed discussions on why a specific flower heals a specific condition, and provide the locality, identification and information on the preparation of the essence. This excellent guide on Dr Bach's flower essences concludes with a bibliography.
I have personally found Dr Bach's and other flower essences to be helpful for a variety of conditions. This book is an asset to the literature on this gentle and non-intrusive healing modality. I highly recommend it.

A classic standardReview Date: 2008-05-12
If you are a beginner in Hebrew, this dictionary is definitely a good one to plan to get, but you would be better served initially by A Concise Hebrew and Aramaic Lexicon of the Old Testament: Based upon the Lexical Work of Ludwig Koehler and Walter Baumgartner. This dictionary organizes words alphabetically rather than by roots, a feature which saves beginners a lot of frustration. As you progress, you should also consider getting a much more recent comprehensive lexicon of Biblical Hebrew, The Hebrew and Aramaic Lexicon of the Old Testament, 2 volume set. This dictionary is based on much more recent scholarship that Brown-Driver-Briggs, but it is considerably more expensive, so BDB is an economical choice for good, if not cutting edge, scholarship. In case it matters to you, the edition I am reviewing here is the one without Strong's numbers. I have no interest in Strong's numbers, but if you find them helpful, take a look at this edition of BDB: Brown-Driver-Briggs Hebrew and English Lexicon.

Most Important Book for Divorced ParentsReview Date: 2006-04-24
this book is the best.Review Date: 2002-03-05
The descriptions that are given about what feelings children endure are gripping. I came to truly understand what our three have had to bury in their beings. Now, before its too late, however, I have unique insight that will enable me to help them --hopefully with their father.
I cannot write too much about the value of knowing what divorce does to children, how to help them heal, how to take charge of the situation that seems hopeless, and what to NOT do.

This book, besides being a fun read, illustrates the contemporary prison problem in the United States. Mr. Jones was nothing more than a misbehaving child when he was first given a stint in prison. It was in prison that he became a real criminal. It was in the place that he was supossed to reform that he learned to purposely break the law. This same thing happens to many in prisons today. A teenager is jailed for reckless driving or the such, and while he spends his few months in jail, he picks up a new lifestyle from the experienced criminals he is living with. Hacksaw is an excellent picture of why the criminal punishment system in the U.S. is suceeding only in producing more criminals. Mr. Jones realizes partway through his life that he is in a Catch 22: he is running from the police because he has been sentenced to life imprisonment for multiple escapes, and either he turns himself in and spends his life in prison, or he keeps running but can never live a normal life because he must always be moving from place to place to stay ahead of the law enforcement. In either case, he loses. In the end, he decides to give up trying to keep escaping, and decides to write books from prison instead. I believe he finally made it out of prison on a legal technicality, and was freed to live a normal life.
