I am also a "Journey Facilitator" and have taken many people to meet their guides BUT, this is almost as good as live. In fact, while using this disk, I decended into trance faster than I have ever done so before, and deeper too. I find this CD remarkable and have recommended it whole heartedly to family and friends and recommend it to you (the reader) also.

It would be a real waste to pass this CD by if you're looking to improve yourself and your life and are on a spiritual quest, no matter what your religion. This is one of the ultimate self-help CD's that I've ever come accross.

Doug Lorain has done a wonderful job with this book. I've hiked extensively throughout Washington, and still found this book inspirational. All of the trips described in the book are lengthy backpacking trips. A wonderful job was done linking trails together, providing great, detailed, honest assessments of the route/terrain/difficulty of each trip. Best of all, the book is a joy to read (high praise for a guidebook). Even when not planning a trip, you'll enjoy thumbing through it, dreaming of future trips. A must have for anyone who wants to plan a great backpacking trip in Washington - period.

A rare book

Dougls Lorain has gone out of his way to be sure backcountry travelers make the most of their time. From avoiding the less than scenic parts of the PCT (Pacific Crest Trail), to providing clues for off-trail/cross country opportunities, it will be difficult to go wrong with the candid advice from Lorain. Like Rick Steves has done for adventure minded European travelers, Doug Lorain provides more than most backpacking/trail book authors. An excellent book for GORP eaters who may be ready to enjoy the backcountry thru the backdoor.

Something about being detailed with pictures...

With a game I have never thought I was going to play 4 years ago to this day, Baldurs Gate: TOSC has went beyond my expectations. This book was no exception... I really believe that pictures in a book more than express the writing within, and that was why I found this guide to be essential in my quests. For once... the maps and strategy parts were very detailed and gave me a sense of direction. Especially when I found myself caught up with the action and failed to notice what was my next move. It never helps to be fending off dopplegangers when a trap is unoticeably behind you. It is for real. I honestly think this book is top quality and a must have. Anybody can understand this without words.

If you own Baulders Gate already you know the style of the game: quests, dungeons, etc. Tales of The Sword Coast was designed to be a chalanging add on. Even people who had little trouble in the original game may have trouble with the expansion pack.

TOSC is mainly about dungeon crawling; and that is where this book comes in handy. In some levels, there can about 50 traps. This strategy guide includes maps for each dungeon, and tells you exactly where each trap is, what it does, and percentage skill your thief needs to both detect and disarm each trap. IMHO, aside from using a cheat for extra healing potions, I don't think I would have been able to finish some of those dungeons without the book.

Astute, Funny, And Sharp

Will Ferguson plows through centuries of Canadian history in Bastards and Boneheads, a book that beautifully judges the personalities that have created and built Canada. This is a book for those who do not think Canadian history is very interesting or eventful. Very colourful personalities have made their will known in both helpful and harmful shaping this country and they come alive within these pages. This book will also shatter the myth of Canadians as "nice" people, because quite often we are not, particularly looking at the Holocaust of the WWII, the Japanese internments, and the relations with First Nations people (such as the chapter on Oka). The author's examination of more recent history, from the October Crisis to Chretien is also very illuminating. In the end how can any book with a chapter called "Ranking the Prime Ministers, From the Great to Mulroney" be all that bad. A wonderful book on a fascinating country. Highly recommended.

Great survey of 150 years of history!

Ferguson does a wonderful job making Canadian history, traditionally perceieved as a dull topic, into an enthralling tale of a budding nation, people, and the strange contradiction that is inherent to all things Canadian. The language is simple, yet the ideas are very critical. The humoUr is terrific, yet Ferguson pulls no punches in condemning some of Canada's more shameful history. An excellent primer for anybody interested in Canadian history.

The Douglas-Hamilton's tell a fascinating yet often heartbreaking tale of the struggle to save Africa's elephants from ivory poachers, corrupt officials, governments, and an explosive human population, with great style, objectivity, elegance and passion. This is an important book that should be made into a film, for it encapsulates the conservation story as a whole - why we must try to save the wilderness that remains for the future of the planet.

Captivating and wonderful! What a battle

The Douglas-Hamiltons tell an amazing story of their work on the ground and flying across every African country hosting elephants, to document the status of and threats to the species. The story and writing style is captivating; a constantly exciting adventure, hard to put down. This is a beautiful and incredibly informative account of the slaughter of elephants that went on and on for 20 years while conservationists stood by, bickered, and asked for more information. Eye-opening, heart-breaking, but ultimately the efforts of this heroic couple were essential in bringing Africa's elephants into the 21st century. The description of the vast wild landscapes and flying across Africa are wonderful. This story will capture your imagination. Highly recommended.

Because We Are Canadians is a battlefield memoir of Charles D. Kipp, revealing a Canadian soldier's harrowing struggle to survive on the World War II battlefields of Europe after D-Day. Deftly edited by Lunda Sykes, Because We Are Canadians is strongly recommended as being an unusually haunting and vividly written account, with all the visceral feelings of terrible risk and bloodshed, as well as offering one man's view of both the minute details of everyday life and the unfolding battlefield journal of World War II history.

Review Date: 2007-05-31
Sometimes when images from newspapers or TV are taken out of context they can fall flat out of meaning or context. Not so for the revolutionary work of Emory Douglas. Douglas who was the Minister of Culture for the Black Panther Party from 1968-1980 and it's weekly newspaper artist amassed more works for the paper in a short period than most artists in a lifetime. But quantity is not the focus here but quality, growth and diversity. Emory Douglas is a prolific artist; his one page pieces included in the Black Panther newspaper were captivating and profoundly moved individuals all over the world no matter what language they spoke. His work has influenced every generation of artists/writers/activists who found their way into his work. It is interesting to note that while Emory's finished work was incredibly elaborate looking his tools of choice were simple pen, marker, tape and paper. His palette always represented and reflected the working class.
Black Panther: The Revolutionary Art of Emory Douglas focuses on many of Emory's best works and includes forward and texts from former Panther Chairman Bobby Seale, Kathleen Cleaver, Amiri Baraka (still NJ Poet-Lauriat in my book)and Danny Glover among a few.

A definite must for anyone and everyone!!!!!!!

Salvation/Christ focused messages, encourages married couples to stay together/grow stronger, your personal testimonies, written from a realistic and christ centered perspective, targeted specific issues such as finances, discipline, names, visitation, respect, etc., information helpful, applicable and true, not too long, gets the message across clearly, and husband and wife perspectives and input. This book can give anyone married, single, remarried, or engaged a biblical view and understanding of what Christ wants to do in our homes. The authors do an exceptional job at directing the reader to God's plan and provision for marriage and family. Their personal experiences are a testimony to what God can do if we let Him. THE BLENDED FAMILY encourages trust in Christ and the word of God as the blueprint for building a strong family. A must read for anyone in or about to become a blended family.

From a married but non-blended family perspective

Having the opportunity to pre-review this book prior to release, and being married with two children in a non-blended family I wondered how the book could benefit me and my household.

I found it easy to read with personal testimonies that any family can relate to and learn from. I walked away from the book being more thankful for the things I have, and I acquired a stronger commitment to keep my household intact.

I would like to thank the authors of this book for making my husband and I "Renew our marriage vows"
