Once again, I was completely captivated by Dean Hughes and his continuation of the Thomas family story. His history and insights in the turbulant times of the 60's opened my eyes to the many trials people faced.

Lizzie is a girl who has weird things happen to her on Valentine's Day. When we had it read to us in grade three we had many questions as the author does not explain exactly how these things happen. Is it a dream? Was she passed out? We would like more answers!

This guide was of invaluable assistance to me in forming my new corporation. It makes what can be a daunting task seem relatively simple: it is clearly written, well-organized, and extremely thorough, and its tone is friendly and encouraging. Not only does it have the (correct!) phone numbers, addresses, and fax numbers for all the relevant filing agencies, but any forms that you might need are available electronically, at no additional cost, from the author. Staff is also available by phone to answer questions; I called several times and found them to be consistenly helpful and responsive. I can't recommend this book highly enough if you are planning to start your own business!

Dean is a great writer, his background positions him well for this book. He is a family man doing what many need to do, start a small business and keep food on the table and insurance laying in wait. This is the perfect guide for starting you small business. The forms are there, the bylaws are there, explaining the stock even helped me understand some things about corporate law I didn't know about. Dean makes the law real and easy to understand. Thanks for wading through the mumbo-jumbo and getting the real nuggets, we will all flourish thanks to your work. Be advised Dean is not advising you legally, but identifying steps any one would need to take to start there small business. In some cases you still may need a lawyer, but this book can help you identify the key areas you need check. It allows you to talk about the issues with your CPA and Attorney, overall it's GREAT!!!

Works for me

This book is based on the idea that pictures (visual images) are easier to remember than meaningless words or numbers. The author shows you how to translate non-visual concepts into visual images that really stick. As an optometrist, I decided to try out his system by memorizing the names of 5 kinds of contact lenses and the oxygen-flow number associated with each, in order from highest to lowest. It took me just a few minutes. It uses all three of the basic methods in Vaughn's book: the room (locus) method for remembering things in order, the "audionym" method for making a visual image from an otherwise abstract word, and the "number code" for translating numbers into words. None of this is new, but Vaughn presents it well, with lots of examples and pictures. It would be an excellent book for exam-taking students.

As a lifelong Presbyterian, I guess I thought I didn't need this. On a recommendation from a friend, though, I read it and am so glad I did. Many aspects of worship have become more meaningful to me. I think any Presbyterian could benefit from Dr. Chapman's insights.

This book provides an overview of not only the theory and computational methodologies of both Hydraulic and Hydrologic modeling in ArcView, but provides real world modeling examples. This publication is a great quick overview of cutting edge modeling. Note that most of the Corp of Engineering extensions show cased in this book require that you are using ArcView 3.x and they currently do not run on ArcGIS 8.

Ethan Fortune was a simple salesman - knowledgeable, of course, also civilized, a sophisticated traveler between many worlds. But certainly he had never thought of himself as a hero. The banality of such an idea would have amused him.

Skua September, on the other hand (a giant of a man), had apparently never done anything of less than heroic stature - and expected the like of everyone else.

With the pair of them idiotically stranded on deadly, frozen Tran0ky-ky, along with an ill-assorted variety of others, Ethan Fortune suddenly found himself cast in the role of leader.

He didn't find it amusing at all.

This is a great bedtime book for pre-readers that converts to an early readers book. It is fun and fast to read and my daughter can't help but try to figure out what would happen if the world ran out of other letters. Oops - oh, that's because she and I wrote it :)

Awesome book! Dean gives you all the tools you need to make this a reality. It is not just like all of the other "think positive and your life will be great" kind of books. Dean is realistic and thought provoking. For those who don't love to read this is easy reading. I highly recommend this book for those who want to live a life of harmony.
