It was the most wonderful book I ever read. About a girl who loves here dog and has such a strong realationship with him. When Cheddar was hit by the I coundn't stop reading! This book was filled with sadness, and happyness but yet still a little bit of mystery in it too. This book inspired me to write a story of my own and I hope if you read it will inspire you too!

The interesting book

I would recommend this book to other people because it is very detailed and it is also very curious too. Some parts of this book were exciting or scared or curious. I think a lot of people would like to read this wonderful book. If Cheddar did not get hit by a car I think none of the horrible things would have happened. I also think that some of Kat's reactions were not very good choices. I think that Kat should not have gone to the hospital because she could go to the hospital after school. When the bike was found, I was very curious about who stole the bikes. To me, this is a very well written book and I hope many people will read it!

If you love pets the way I do and you'll do anything in the world to take care of them and make sure they're all right, then you'll be right there with Kat and her dog, Cheddar in Pam Swallow's well-written story about them! This is a funny and sometimes serious look at a girl who does the wrong things for the right reasons - a girl I could sure identify with and I think you will, too. You'll want Kat for your friend.

Excellent story!

It is wonderful to read a story about a character I can relate to. Kat is not a bad kid. She does something wrong, but she does it for the right reason. And then she pays for her mistake. A reader can see how one mistake can mushroom into something big, and that a person's reputation can be affected. But the reader can also learn, the way Kat does, that people can be so different than you imagined they are, once you get below the surface. Kat is a caring person, and that quality shines through. I was with her all the way!

A nice book with the screenplay of the movie, some photos from the backstage and a very small interview to most of the main characters. For all the people (like me) who have loved this movie and its marvellous all-star cast.

WHAT IT IS
This is one of the best presentations of a script I've purchased in recent months. There's loads of extras in this paperback including some queries with the principle actors, bascstories on characters, cut scenes and storylines, great photos (behind the scenes as well as infront of the camera) and of course, the full screenplay.

WHY I PURCHASED IT
In general this is one of my favorite movies, but I am also an aspiring screenwriter and am currently using this screenplay to assist me with formatting my own intersecting lives in my screen play. It's a relief to see a screenplay with such depth be easily read and translated by enve a novie like me. Love Actually is proof positive that the best screenplays are rewritten, not written. Thank you Richard Curtis!

This is a film for people, like myself, who like movies that make them think, but occassionly need a feel-good flick with just enough complication to keep it interesting. I laughed, I cried, I got up on my feet and danced, I clapped my hands and I'm telling everyone I know that Love Actually is, actually, a must see movie!!!! And, so the screenplay is, also, a must read!

great body of work

Richard Curtis is a genius! Although I haven't seen the movie version yet, Love Actually the screenplay heightened my excitement for the movie. The screenplay will leave readers giddy with excitement, eagerly anticipating the turnout of every character's story.

All characters are very human and everyone is looking for love in different forms, which anyone can easily relate to. Readers will find themselves rooting for all characters. The book is also complemented with photos of the movie and budding scriptwriters can pick up points on how to make a screenplay.

The book is masterfully written and it is a great read for those who are looking for love because, as Hugh Grant's character says in the opening scene, "I've got a sneaking suspicion you'll find that love actually is all around."

Author Curtis Cole has a unique ability to capture a moment, a thought, or a life event into a poem. His expression gives not only a clear visual experience of the event to the reader, but also manages to stir up emotions in such a way as to create a very real experience. When you're finished reading, you'll feel like you lived the moment he describes just as if it had actually happened to you.

Great stuff.

Rarely can you find such a treasure as this. Written with a sense of life knowledge rarely seen in someone so youthful as Cole, this old soul shows through from prose to prose. I find myself reaching for it rather often as it is a companion to my daily reflection. Not only a must buy, but a must read.

Great Alternative to Junie B. Jones!!!

What a refreshing series targeted towards princesses between the ages of 6-9 and an answered prayer for an alternative to Junie B. Jones!!! (Don't get me wrong, I love Junie! But... Well, if you've read Junie, you know where I'm going with this.)

These books deal with topics such as: true beauty, peer pressure, friendships, patience, and everything else that a little girl might have to tackle! Not to mention... these books are HILARIOUS! Lori has truly mastered the ability to not only put herself into a child's mind, but writes in a casual form that every little girl will understand.

As if that isn't enough... At the end of every book Lori has added a "Chatter Matters" section! What an awesome way to open up the lines of communication with our little ladies and Lori even brought in a few Bible verses to spark more curiosity and further discussions! And... "BLAM! Great Activity Ideas" section that ties in with each story! This is great!

My younger daughter and I had the pleasure of reading All Dressed Up and FELL IN LOVE with Meghan! We both agree that once your little girl picks the first book up, she'll cry out to read the rest!!! But don't take my word for it. Here's what my daughter has to say: "This book was so funny & cute. I think A LOT of kids will really like it!"

Bounciest girl in the world

Lori Z. Scott created Meghan Rose, the bounciest girl in the world, in a series that begins with this book. Reading it I giggled and learned a bit, along with Meghan Rose, about patience.
Meghan needs, needs, needs a pair of K-K-K-Kangaroozies, shoes that will help her bounce even higher than her usual light hearted stepping. Since the shoes are expensive, she attempts to make herself a pair, with hilarious results. After time in prayer, Meghan aims to earn the money to buy them herself, in a fun scheme involving a bag of potatoes, that she transforms into Spuddy Buddies.
The book has directions for fun activities in a section at the end.
Ages 4-10.

A Terrific Read-Aloud Story with A Solid Message for Any Child

Review Date: 2008-03-25
Even adults struggle with learning patience. How do you teach patience to a young child? From watching the television, Meghan Rose has been lured to want the latest shoe crazy. Throughout this well-written story, she tried different "schemes" to get these shoes yet doesn't succeed.

In the final pages, Meghan prays, "Hello God, I'm back. Listen, I understand making someone wait a long time for something important like a baby, although that still bothers me a little. But why should we wait to buy things our parents can get right away? Why wait for anything?"...As she considers the answer to her questions it comes, "I bet waiting helps you learn patience. And patience helps you control yourself."

Whether your child is starting to read or loves to hear you read aloud, I recommend MEGHAN ROSE HAS ANTS IN HER PANTS. Author Lori Z. Scott has written a fun book yet slips in a powerful message for the 6 to 9 year old target market.

The Meghan Rose series by Lori Z. Scott is the next "Junie B. Jones" books with a spiritual twist in children's early reader books. Lori Z. Scott has done a wonderful job bringing children into the world of Meghan Rose, who is a first grader learning life's lessons, one step at a time.

In the second book, Meghan Rose Has Ants in Her Pants, Meghan learns what it means to have patience. After seeing a commercial on TV advertising shoes that make you extra bouncy called K-K-K-K-Kangaroozies, Meghan decides she has to own a pair. When she asks her mom, Meghan gets the dreaded "Maybe". Later Meghan finds out her best friend, Kayla owns a pair. Now Meghan is really having a hard time getting Kangaroozies off her mind. Her pre-test in spelling is affected, she can't sit still, and nothing Meghan does seems to convince Mom to buy them. Meghan comes up with different plans to get a pair, or make a pair, of her own. In the end, Meghan learns, after a thoughtful talk with God, that sometimes waiting teaches us a life lesson.

Warning for those who don't like to read books with a spiritual take, praying and talking with God is mentioned. For those who are not religious, it's done in a very tactful manner, and only adds to the storyline about learning to wait. At the end of the book, you'll find a Q &A. This is a great tool to get children thinking about what they learned in this fun-loving book. Also, Meaghan Rose shares her craft ideas from the book. Kids will enjoy making them just like Meaghan Rose did.

My son's school selected this book as the topic of an optional schoolwide discussion. My son is 6 years old. In retrospect, if I had paid a bit more attention to the subject matter, I might not have chosen to participate this year. However, up until the last third of the book, the family deals with situations that are typical of many families--sibling relations, friction between older children and parents, being a nerd at school, learning how to be a friend. Mr. Curtis' writing and Mr. Burton's reading are magic together. My son and I listened to this book on a long car trip, and at one point, when Kenny, the narrator, "makes up" with a friend, I heard him fall back against the back seat with a grateful "whew!"

My husband listened to the last part of the book with my son, so I can't speak to his immediate reaction. However, over the next few weeks, we had several conversations about race relations, which made me grateful that the book had opened the door to discussion. Some families at school did feel that some language was inappropriate for young children but frankly I'm not sure it is any worse than what they hear on TV or at school.

This is a great book and it's not boring.

The Watsons are a weird family. It's about a family who has a son thats a deliquent of Juvenile. He bullied kids around and he loved to pick on the main character (his little brother) Kenneth. It's at the point where they have to drive the kid to Grandma Sands house to put him in disipline. The over book is extremely wonderful although there are some intense parts. I encourage all of you to read it.

Our 12 year old son has proven to do 100% better on all reading projects if he has audio backup to the book he needs to do for school. We found that the audio helps him better his reading skills and overcome some of his dyslexia by doing his reading assignments this way. His teachers are so proud of how he has turn his challange around so well. It sure makes him feel much more a successful reading in getting things done now. All on time as well!!! We had a difficult time finding this CD and other items he has needed in stores. So we hit the Amazon site and have made out just great so far. I am so thankful sor this site for all 3 of our children. We have never had a problem finding the items we need. Thank you Amazon!!!

The book itself is both hilarious and surprisingly deep and is not to be missed for anyone, especially young adults. I use this CD to assist struggling readers in the classroom, but all of my students' eyes light up when they see me move towards the CD player!

I knew Mike Curtis ( not his real name ) back in the mid 90's when we were both in South America. I had heard that he had written a book and I found a copy in a bookstore in New Zealand. Wonderful book and alot of adventures. He is a first class guy and alot of fun to be around and that certainly comes across in the book.

A very compelling account and exciting book that I was unable to put it down. It's in the same league as Andy McNab's books. Clearly shows the rigorous SAS Selection and training process. Particularly realistic were his accounts of the grueling experiences in the Falklands and the scud destroying missions in Iraq. Reading this book makes you realize the tough conditions that these elite troops survive in. Thanks Mike, for doing a tough job well and for writing an excellent book about it all!

Mike Curtis' life has been very exciting. He tells about his military life in the British Army along with personal backround. It even revealed secrets of the SAS. Including the mission in Iraq during the Gulf War, which was for destroying Scud missiles.

I couldn't put this book down! It also made me want to learn more about the Gulf (I bought Cameron Spence's book about the Gulf War called "Sabre Squadron"). I recommend this book for readers interested in the British Army or SAS or if you are just a military buff.

Good read, good action, good book!

Curtis is in the same league as the McNab's, Spence's and Crossland's of this world! Great action in the Falklands. Awsome accounts of his selection (almost twice as good!!!!).Well written; full of anecdotes, humour and sarcasm...even in the tough moments. Makes you really wonder why "Bravo Two Zero" opted to tab instead of ride! We want more from Curtis.

After picking up the book and reading the initial pages I was unable to put it down. CQB made me laugh, made me sad and at times it even made me feel uncomfortable. Due to the gripping style, it is one of the few books that I have been sorry to finish, I just wanted it to keep going. The demise of his family life was inevitable however, I would have preferred it if the author had allowed greater expression on the subject (as this is a great bane of service life)and to attibute more narrative.

Overall, this is a compelling account of a soldiers life in two of the most elite fighting forces.

Whether it's your first trip cruising the Maine Coast or you've sailed here for years, you'll find this your second most valuable resource ( nothing beats a good set of charts [and radar when the fog rolls in]) because when you need to decide where you are going to drop the hook for the night the charts won't be nearly as helpful as the Tafts' years of experience. Where to go, where not go, how to approach the anchorage, what to see ashore are all combined with slices of history and dry witted anecdotes. A bit of advice to the summer cruiser-- equip your boat with mosquito netting if you want a peaceful evening in one of the most wonderful places in the world!!

CGTTMC is only slightly less essential for succesful Maine crusing than charts and tide tables (and beer, of course). In addition to being incredibly comprehensive, it's also beautifully written... so one can still vicariously experience Maine's spectacular coastline when the boat is in the hard.

My one quibble with the book has to do with its indexing. All major (and many minor) subjects are listed, but some of the more obscure ones are not. The book contains a lot of great "color" information in sidebars and boxes; these are generally stumbled upon and, because they're not always indexed, can be hard to find later without flipping through the book.

And flipping through the book is NOT a good idea, because you'll invariably stumble upon something fascinating and start reading whole sections anew...

They don't get any better than this!

I've read a few very popular devotionals by excellent teachers. However, this one tops them all by far. The reason is that this one is exceptionally encouraging...and I'm mean every single passage. In fact, I can't even pick a favorite as each day I am encouraged so much by each of the writings. Pastor MacArthur is very gifted spiritually. I think this is because he uses his God-given gifts until they overflow. Through his ministry, Grace to You, as well as the MacArthur Study Bible, God's grace and wisdom is being shared more than abundantly.

If you really want to grow spiritually, it involves daily exposure to God's Word. This devotional will help you accomplish this day by day. There are many devotionals that have wonderful stories that tie into a scripture verse, and it is quickly read, with very little time with God, and out to work we go, with very little spiritual nourishment.

This work by John MacArthur will provide you a healthy feeding every day. He is committed to an indepth approach to bible exposition. And this book does just that, drawing from the main passages he has taught over the years. At the conclusion of the year, you will have gained a firm grasp of many of the great texts of the Bible. So while you are studying verse by verse through a passage, you'll find that each day stands on its own and makes direct application to your life.

A very close friend asked me for advice, he said "I was wondering if you knew of a good devotional book that would get me to think and cause me to interact with the book and the bible. In the past I have read devotionals for 5 minutes said great and off I went feeling that I got nothing out of it and was only giving God a song and dance show. Let me know if you have any suggestions."

My advice to him was easy and without hesitation, Purchase Drawing Near by John MacArthur. You will grow closer to your Lord, and be fed with a healthy feeding on a daily basis. It will be one of the greatest years' in your life! Buy it today!

Excellent devotional to help you grow closer to the Lord. Breaks down verses with sometimes more than one explanation. We recommend to anyone who wants to walk closer with God.

If I hear that again, I now have something to pull out and place in the hands of my six year old. We have read it together, and she has read it alone. The pictures are fun and the point is well made. Great book!

...Savor that smile as it slips onto your face and let the merriment begin with this refreshing and insightful narrative about the feelings of a child. This book is both adorable and wise, and it teaches children to look at everything and every situation in a different way. Fun Is A Feeling tells us that fun is where we find it and shows us how to look for it; however, it also reminds us that sometimes we have to put that fun there.

Inside this book, children will discover things that will delight their imagination and wisdom that can only come from within. Fantasy and whimsy permeate, fill, and overflow these pages. That isn't simply a sprinkle of rain pitter-pattering on the upturned faces of children! Who would settle for rain when it can be turned into tiny little kisses - from raindrops that were looking just for them? And what about that bug that lands on their nose? Isn't it there just to give them a hug?

Stardust sparkles and swirls from page to page, sweeping us along with pure joy. Trees stretch their arms wide to let the smiles of children sail through their branches and tickle their leaves. The clear blue waters of a stream giggle their way through a forest glade, while colorful little fish leap as high as they can to peek out at the glorious scenery. What child could resist such beautiful illustrations, or fail to understand the most important message carried within this story...children are very special and their joy can light up the universe.

This is a wonderful book. Sweep up some of its stardust, put it in your pocket, and let its magical message change the way you look at your world - and when that happens, it will change your life...

We just love this book!! The soft, melodic prose is very soothing, as well as the fun, airy illustration. The story provokes imagination and creativity, even in us as parents reading to our child. As with all books by Chara M. Curtis, I couldn't recommend this book more.

At 2 1/2 years old my daughter just hangs on every word and image. She loves this book as well as Curits' All I See is Part of Me. The message is outstanding, the writing divinely inspired, and the images evoking. When's the next one coming out?

Another great childrens book from the Curtis & Aldrich team!

...Fun isn't something or somewhere or who... it's a feeling a joy that lives inside of you!...

An absolutely wonderful book, full of joy and of course... FUN! Awesome illustrations and great for kids even below the suggested age group (suggested age group: 4-8). Our son is 2 1/2 and adores this as well as our 1 yr. old daughter!

This book teaches about feelings (sad, happy, angry) and how each and every one of them are healthy and ok, including the feeling, fun. Nice suggestions for older kids are included like having fun by imagining .. "vacuuming the hall with an elephants snout" and so forth.

Our kids enjoy this book every time we read it, which is almost every day incidentally. Not to mention, how much my husband and I enjoy reading it with them.
