This Audiobook Was Good. I Just Wish It was Unabridged Unstead of Abridged!

I didn't read the book Little Women by Louisa May Alcott but I did listen to an abridged audiobook read by Jamie Lee Curtis who did a great job and I thought The story of Little Women was very good and I liked it so much that I'm looking to find both the paperback book and also to find an enexpensive unabridged audiobook. I just wish that Jamie Lee Curtis had read for an unabridged audiobook. As for the story itself I found Little Women to be very entertaining with compelling characters like Jo, Marmee, Laurie, etc, and I highly recommend it, (paperback, hardcover, or audio cassette or audio CD).

This Book Is a Star

Propliner enthusiasts consider the Lockheed Constellation to be the most beautiful airliner built. In this book, authors Curtis Stringfellow and Peter Bowers do an admirable job of presenting this graceful bird, both civil and military variants, in considerable detail.

The authors describe each variant - the Army C-69; the civilian 049, 749, 1049, and 1649 Starliner; and military Super Constellations - in considerable detail. They cover Constellation operations with major and second-tier operators on every continent. Reference sections detail accidents and incidents, surviving Constellations, major operators, and civil registrations. The publisher also provides an index, a feature lacking in the Airliner Tech series. Included are shots of the flight deck and interior for each of the major commercial variants. The wealth of detail in this book is sure to please any propliner or aviation enthusiast!

Great book. I have been traveling to Maine for vacations for years, and this guide still provided me with great new travel tips for areas I thought I knew well. I am returning to Maine again this summer, and will be using this book as my primary reference.

When reading this book, the reader should start with the last chapter, then return to the first. In that last chapter, Dr. Lorritts sets forth the theme of the whole book: "I believe that the church needs to be called back to the high ground of holiness." Dr. Lorritts makes a powerful and cogent argument that the process of change in the life of a Christian, the process of sanctification or becoming like Christ, is a process of continual repentance. In the book Dr. Lorritts addresses:

The need for Christian believers to comprehend sin in their own lives through God's eyes, using Scripture as the standard of human conduct, as opposed to a societally imposed standard;

The effects of sin in the lives of believers, in terms of both eternal and temporal consequences;

An understanding of repentance as both a point and a process, turning from sin and making a way back `home' to God's path;

The need to have an appropriate fear of God, as the Lord of the Universe, and an understanding of what that ought to mean in daily life;

The need for the church, as the Body of Christ, to be a vehicle to help believers to come to grips with their sin and work through the process of repentance, as opposed to mitigating the sinnner's understanding of the stain that sin is on their lives.

This is a fine book, well worth reading and re-reading.

This book is a well-crafted and intelligent way of helping those in need of advice and guidance through the modern maze of family problems. A cleverly applied question-and-answer format allows ordinary people to use their own words in describing extraordinary difficulties in their day-to-day family lives. It also allows a gifted psychotherapist to respond in simple terms easily understood by anyone. Great Biography!

Well written biography of Marie-Therese, only child of Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI who survived into adulthood. Alice Curtis Desmond does a nice job describing Marie-Therese's childhood at Versailles and her subsequent imprisonment during the French Revolution. She then details the next 50 years of her life, as she constantly moves all around Europe, never quite settling in one place. Fascinating!
