Curtis Books

I recommend this book to anyone interested in dentistry. As a student who is planning to attend dental school, I found this book entertaining and informative. Dr. Curtis is an excellent writer who knows how to keep his readers interested.

I have read Dr. Curtis' other book, The Business of Love, and when I saw that he had another relationship book out, I knew I had to read this one too. What a wonderful tool for anyone in a cohabitating relationship, preparing for one, or who knows someone who is in one. It gives very specific tools and information that you and partner can do together to strengthen your relationship. It also helps you deal with other people who may be against you living together. This is a highly recommended book!

He Who Goes First is a very inspiring and heart felt story written by first time novelist Kevin J. Curtis. It takes you back into the time of 13th Century Mongolia with such vivid details that you are truly transported. The characters are rich and full of life and internal conflict, which makes for a great drama. I especially loved the story between the main character and his wife. Told from a very realistic perspective, this is a book you won't soon forget.

This talk is definately worth buying. I served a mission with him some 20 years ago, so I guess that makes me a little biased, but I think he's a terrific speaker and teacher.

Randall Curtis has a unique gift to be able to bring to a conscious understanding- that which we truly desire. His concept of the hearts desire and the use of astrology as factual backup truly helps to simplify the complications of relationship and love. The author also takes several risks by revealing personal information about himself to the reader. As a Gemini he has that fantastic duality for being able to understand both sides of an issue and make it completely comprehendable to both sides.

This is by far the best county histoy book that I have found. Unlike many of these book, it is supuberbly orginized and very well writen. The Heritage of Blue Earth County Minnesota book is a must have for Genealogists and people interested in Blue Earth County.

The photographs enclosed within this beautiful book serve to haunt and enchant. The infamous Edward S. Curtis has captured the spirit of the indigenous peoples, and this well presented book displays these images wonderfully. Definately a must for anyone with an interest in the native american culture. Highly recommended.

Hidden shadows is a wonderful book for kids my children really enjoyed it and they want to finish the series!

Lets face it, histology is a fairly boring subject, but this book makes it about as interesting as possible by interlacing it with all the relevant physiology.

I received a copy of a new coffee table-sized book on Reno titled Historic Photos of Reno, published by Turner Publishing Company. The author, Donnelyn Curtis, is a librarian with the University of Nevada, Reno, and Director of Research Collections & Services and Head of Special Collections there. Her pictures and commentary cover the first century or so of Reno from around 1868 to the end of the 1970s. I not only read the book and looked at the outstanding pictures culled from the university archives, I also shared the book with my landlord who has lived in Reno since 1947. We spent several hours browsing the book and reading the captions, and we both came to the conclusion this is the best pictorial volume about Reno we have seen.

Curtis took great care in selecting the photographs, all of them black and white, covering many aspects of Reno's history, including the Johnson/Jeffries fight of 1910; various businesses in and around Reno and Sparks; the rise of gaming in Reno; parades of note which included a parade featuring aviator Charles Lindbergh; the 1950 Reno flood; vintage University of Nevada, Reno, pictures; and even a picture of the original "Biggest Little City in the World" sign and how that came to be. Some of the businesses and buildings still exist, but for older people such as my landlord, those which don't exist anymore but are depicted in the book bring back a lot of memories. Curtis' captions and commentary are brief and to the point.

I can't recommend this book enough for those who are interested in local history as I am.
