Stories and authentic recipes from the south's most legendary tea room/restaurant (1928 - 1962). My favorites were the Hot Turkey on Egg Bread sandwich, Baked Macaroni and Cheese and the Chicken Salad with Tomato Aspic Ring. With easy to follow directions, I had no trouble making them. The Tea Room Notes at the end of each recipe helped me to understand why the spot was such a popular place with the southern ladies to have lunch after a morning of shopping in downtown Atlanta. I could easily see them heading for the elevator wearing hats and gloves. I would recommend the purchase of this cookbook with its lovely stories to anyone looking for that special gift for Mom, Grandmom, special friend.

As a family member of a stroke survivor who is dealing with expressive Aphasia, I found this book to be extremely helpful. It is written in easily understandable language, and organized in an order that is simple to follow. Yet there is nothing lacking in terms of practical and useful materials and exercises that will aid in the recovery process.

Not only are oral speech and language abilities addressed, but also writing ability and reading comprehension. This text also includes materials that will aid in rebuilding skills related to money, math and telling time. Exercises are all provided in bold, large print... making them very easy for family members and patients to read and use.

It is an unfortunate fact that many insurance companies refuse to pay for ongoing, intensive speech and language therapy for stroke survivors (beyond the first few weeks). After that time, many survivors receive only a minimal amount of S&L therapy, unless their family members willingly step in to assist. While it is definitely preferable to have post-stroke aphasia therapy outlined and over-seen by an actual SLP... this book provides the necessary guidance and materials that will allow families to supplement and continue forward with their loved one's therapy and recovery.

I taught this course and was pleasantly surprised by the ease of the teaching. This was due, i think to the lay-out and the content. Everything was where I needed it for every session. Using the Participant Manuals meant that I didn't have to copy anything and everybody always had their material with them. That was nice. I very much reccomend this to anyone interested in the pursuit of spirituality

I have tried several recipes in this book already and they all have be great-my family thinks so to.

I had been diagnosed as diabetic and had extrememly high cholesterol and triglycerides. Robert Baumann's book helped me understand the relationship between pH balance, and potassium/sodium balance and overall glandular function and blood sugar levels. I had lowered blood sugar and triglycerides significantly by using "The Zone" diet, but did not fully understand the relationship of pH, pulse, temperature and sodium/potassium balance. His guidelines helped me use supplements and monitoring to further lower my blood sugar and balance my pH levels, which also eliminated my allergies and the need for allergy medications. I have gained a great amount of valuable understanding and control of how the body works and heals itself, and am able to test and monitor many important aspects of my health myself at home. Hats off to Robert Baumann for making it easy and simple, and for empowering us with very useful information!

this is the only book i know of that deals in detail with what to bring with you on hajj/umrah . i have been on hajj twice and umrah twice al hamdulillah . but, i did'nt have this book at that time, ma sha Allah . having been on hajj/umrah i can tell you that this book is a MUST . there are millions of muslims from many different countries bringing their own germs and such . so we must be prepared and al hamdulillah this book informs you of everything you need for what ever conditons you may have and even things to protect yourself from the many problems that come with being around this many people . may Allah bless bro. abdul hakim and sis. aletha for preparing this book for the muslims ...

Provides insight on how an electric meter works. Nice idea for a science project. Shows how inaccurate a meter can be.

Having been a nurse for 30 years, many of which were worked in OB, I finally found a book that addresses the issues of all type of births, from still births, to miscarriages, to hydadiform moles, and how the women and men coped with their losses. This is a poignent book, not a sad read. It is informative on how to deal with friends, family, and oneself. The chapter type stories make this excellent because you can read a person's experience easily in a short amount of time, and when you come back, you begin with a new person's ordeal. It's like having coffee with someone as they tell you about themselves, very easy listening /reading. With today's many ways of getting pregnant, and more chances of mishaps, this is timely reading for anyone. They don't have to be of childbearing age, and the versatility of the experiences makes it so very interesting. A soft, gentle, joyous noise of things that used to be whispered about. I was fortunate enough to attend a global seminar on leading and managing change. This book was part of part of our three week course. It was very eye opening to the majority of our group as to what things in our life were causing stress. Great book to use with management team to help combat stress tha can affect job performance.
