I was very pleased to find this book listed with Amazon.com.
Having studied the trumpet at Ithaca College with Professor Mueller this book was a natural link to the study and teaching of brass instruments for me. Photographs of Mr. Phillips, Mr. Davidson, and other prominent orchestral musicians demonstrating embouchure and posture are valuable to teachers who wish to help young people learn their instruments. The short history of brass instruments, the fingering/slide charts in this book are clear and accurate. The arrangements of hymns and Mueller's own composition at the end of the book are alone worth the cost of purchase of this reference guide.
This book is representative of the life of the late Herbert C. Mueller, in that it is direct, without fluff, and practical.

I'm no child and I love this book! I'm also no great pianist, but I can read music, play a little, and am willing to practice until I get it. This is one of my favorite books for practice because the great kids' songs make me smile, so it's really fun to learn them. It's one of the happiest books I've ever owned. Who couldn't love "Sing a Song of Sixpence" or "Frere Jacques" ?

When I saw this I couldn't resist the idea of getting songs that my ancestors grew up with. It is a great book and I especially like the way it opens flat on the piano. As a beginner, it is very handy to not have to hold the book open while I am still learning the keyboard.

This is a really stellar collection of hits that are simple enough for an amateur and elegant enough for a polished performer. The selection is wonderful, offering a generous sampling from across many different genres. I'd say it's the perfect collection for anyone who wants to master different styles for their own enjoyment or keep guests humming at a party!

I recently added this book to my collection. It has been such fun and I especially love the spiral spine so that it lays flat on the piano. It is a great help for beginners.

Mr. Stockard was my instructor in college and put his passion for fitness and nutrition in the classroom and in this book. It is a good introduction to fitness and nutrition. Please note that due to the current changes in the food pyramid, some areas of the book are outdated. However the exercise and nutritional foundation is sound. I would recommend supplementing with a good nutritional guide.

I was so excited to see that there are still actual copies of my Mom's cookbook in existence, and being circulated through one of my favorite places to shop! This is the ultimate turkey cookbook. This cookbook came out before turkey was available as more than just a whole turkey for Thanksgiving. After my Mom's cookbook came out, a famous whole foods store stole some of her recipes...specifically Turkey Salad with Persimmon sauce, and others. We ate turkey in every form for over three years. My favorite memory was when she made ice cream, and accidentally added soy sauce instead of vanilla to the ice cream. We tried to be kind, but the ice cream was kind of salty. So the next night we had this wonderful skewered pork with a rich, dark sauce. We later learned that it was dark turkey meat with the last night's ice cream turned into a sauce. (Ice cream after all is simply eggs, cream and flavoring...no different then a white or dark sauce.)

Try the turkey sausage, stuffed peppers, and especially the sage stuffing for your Thanksgiving meal. My Mom's sage stuffing was the best!

Mom is still cooking every day, and wowing people in Arizona with her culinary arts. She was born in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and her first turkey dinner was made at the age of five...for the whole family! When she served the pumpkin pie, she served everyone first. Then she gave herself the last slice which ended up upside down on the floor.

My Mom is an amazing woman, and I hope you take a chance on the $7.00 it takes to purchase a copy of her cookbook. You won't be sorry.

Talk about exquisite down home cooking. You'll learn to make tortillas too. What a great life I had, and still have, with a Mom like Lisa Bacon.

A deeply moving book that coveys' emotion in every word. The poet was deeply in touch with her heart and it shows in the writing. The messages she coveys' really makes you think!

Mary Land's Louisiana Cookery is a fascinating and highly readable popourri of the cookery and culture of all areas of Louisiana, with emphasis on preparation of fish and game .This book, first published by the L.S.U. Press in 1954 must be the foundation of many of the later books on Louisiana cuisine as it encompasses the history of Louisiana food and drink.No part of a meal is neglected ---this book has it all. Highly recommended by one who loves to both eat and read about good food
