This is an ideal way to get into the the most used animation program in web design:Macromedia Flash. The basics of the program, and its tools, are explained in a clear concise manner and you are brought into using the program from the first page. This is not a read it and then figure it out type of book. Its an exercise book, first and foremost, and the lessons take you from beginning projects where you learn by doing, into more complex stuff, where the true power of this program becomes apparent. And yes, you got to do some "WOW" stuff as well. From drawing tools and masking projects, to creating buttons and adding animations and actions to them, the book gets you into really adding neat stuff to your web sites. It even has a chapter on using this program with Dreamweaver. This book will have you well on the way to being truly creative in Flash.

I received one for free a few years back in exchange for having my hush puppie recipe published (it's on page 153). Very easy to make recipes, all from scratch. Perfect for picnics, cookouts or church socials.

When your professor comes over the first day of class and leafs through your brand new book and says, "Where did you get this...it's a great introduction to this class!" then proceeds to tell you he knows some of the potters and works pictured...you know it's a GREAT book. From learning where clay comes from and the techniques from pinching and coiling to the wheel and sculpture, I found great tips and photos to help me along and inspire my "creations." Then came texturing, coloring and glazing and firing techniques. I've actually bought the book as a gift for Mr. Pace (from amazon.com, naturally) and his future students because I found it SO helpful.

Barbara Goodfellow was the wife of a Navy Admiral who found she was often in the kitchen cooking while the guests were gathered in the living room and den and she was missing the opportunity to visit her guests. She put together the recipes in this book that could be prepared ahead of time, often even the previous day, and then cooked in an oven without further attention. Many are of casserole type; however, they do not taste like casseroles. I have been using the recipes for over 25 years and have nearly always been asked for the recipe.
