I first saw this book being used at the Singapore "Pipe Organ Encounter" Program run by the AGO. I was very impressed with it as Joyce Jones has created a "crash course" for good pianists to play the organ. She hones in on all the important technical aspects of organ playing and introduces simple trio exercises for the co-ordination of hands and feet. She also includes an excellent section on how to play hymns. I have had a lot of success with this book with my students. Ideally it should then be supplemented with a more thorough tutor for those who really want to play the organ well, but it is an excellent introdution to the instrument and will get pianists playing for church services in a very short time. Her suggestions for registration force the student to explore and familiarise themselves with the various stops available. I have collected and examined many organ tutors and have found this to be the best "crash course" method available. Her "Pedal Mastery" book is also excellent and can be used along side this book.

There is no need to ever again knit a garment that doesn't fit. This book tells you how to adopt knitting constants to make customized garments. Armed with your body measurements -- she gives you the list of what to measure -- and a book of pattern stitches you can design sweaters, jackets and coats in any shape you desire.

She includes a wide variety of sleeve and neckline styles to choose from.

The only short-coming is not in the concepts she advances but in the presentation itself. I have read the book and made my own list of knitting constants that apply to all garments. I have also written two standard patterns ( one for a slip over and one for a cardigan) and all I have to do is fill in the blanks when I design a new garment.

For the price, you can't beat this book! Following this method will give you the confidence that most patterns you buy won't..

I was looking for information on the lamp base design, but it only covers the glass portion.

The examples are beautiful and the level of detail is very professional. You could build one of the lamps easily from the high quality drawings, that should be the standard emulated by all other stained glass books.

I wish I had this book in medical school. Any medical student will tell you that pharmacology is not a difficult subject per se, but is overwhelmingly crammed with mountains of medications, receptor profiles, side effects, pharamcokinetic and dynamic information, drug classes, and so much more that it overwhelms me just to think about it!

This book is designed in the way your brain works as it learns this kind of material. It is organized in a way that creates a template in your head and lays out the material in such a way that you can recall the page and read off the information when you come across the arcane and detailed minutia on your exam.

I did well in the course but when I look back at the notes I made they're in the same format as the book, and buying the book will save you countless hours which you can put to good use learning the information in this book. Diagrams, charts, tables abound, as does the core of the subject itself.

I still use this book today to refer to as an attending when teaching medical students the fundamentals of pharmacology and they couldn't be happier!

I liked the book very much, beacuse did explain to me the different aspects a child with these problems can have. Also it help me to understand why my son is not talking and behaiving the way he's doing, also help me with my son teacher's in order for them to understand him and continuing looking for new ways to help him.

Standard quality for anything put out by ICPC and if you are a police chaplain you should know what I mean.

This is a wonderful product giving clear advise on how to handle tough situations. It is a must have for any minister/chaplain who may work in an officer down situation.

This is a wonderful book for the study of music. Learning to play the piano as an adult is not an easy task; however, this book breaks the steps down into easily understood blocks of instruction. The CD in the book was a little fast for me to keep up with. I will have to figure out another strategy to make that aspect of the text work for me. The lessons in the book along with the student exercises in both practical and theoretical formats are great learning tools for progressing with the study of the piano. Including the finger numbers on the staff was a wonderful idea and makes the lessons flow along with minimal interruptions. I highly recommend this book for all adult beginners. Other great books for relaxation are: "Trilogy Moments for the Mind, Body and Soul," which feature the new Epulaeryu poetry form, "Everyday Miracles," and "The Language of Poetry Forms."

Although I wish that this package was in DVD form, it is still a great instructional package from one of the best Irish fiddle players today. Kevin burke explains how to play every tune in detail and takes you from playing each tune slowly then up to full speed. A must buy if you want to become a better Irish fiddle player.
