I tried the recipe for the grilled red pepper pasta- absolutely wonderful...by far one of the best cookbooks I have ever purchased! The book outlines methods for choosing lowfat meats when shopping, and adds a different outlook towards preparing fresh fruits and vegetables.

What a wonderful book!

Not just another manual
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 0 total.
Review Date: 2007-12-08
I purchased this product expecting a lengthy book. But I was surprised to find out that it was just a photocopied manual with a standard CD. I was disappointed at first when I realized that I paid more than $75.00 for a 100 page manual. But that soon faded when I put the manual to use and found it much easier to use than any Flash book out there. Unlike most Flash books which explain all the aspects and features of the program, the manual just gets straight to work. The manual doesn't go into detail about most of the tools you're going to be using, not necessarily being a bad thing. Instead it tells you what to do with it which is a better way to learn than to just read about it and memorize it. The manual gives you the basics on how to create many flash documents and leaves the rest to your imagination. The manual comes with a CD in which most of the lessons revolve around. It comes with many flash documents which you must put into your computer so you can use many of the lessons provided in the manual. Works for both Mac and PC. The manual doesn't go into advanced detail on the lessons it provides, just the basics, but that's all you'll need to start learning flash right away.

Wow, Noble's training booklets on Amazon! But then again, I'm not that surprised. I took their DreamWeaver class at their training facility in NYC in person, and loved it. They may not want to hear this, but the best thing about this workbook, is that it's so detailed, you don't really even need to attend their classes to follow them... sorry Noble, but it's true. Don't get me wrong, the instructor was great. And it's nice knowing someone is right there to help if you ever get stuck. I just never got stuck. My highest recommendations.

I have many recipes over the years and have had mixed results, even if the recipes came from the same collection. However, this cookbook doesn't have a bad recipe in it. I have tried over a dozen recipes and they have all been wonderful! The recipes are easy to follow and the results are delicious. I also enjoy the humor of some recipes such as "Elephant Stew".

I recommend it to anyone who enjoys good food with a Southern touch.

This cookbook is pretty comprehensive covering the basic dishes as well as the more gourmet. Flavoured with Southern style recipes the Magnolia Collection also features humourous entries such as the Non-Edible Joe's Sponge Cake which you make with a band saw and foam rubber!

EXCELLENT reference tool for those in management!
Helpful Votes: 11 out of 11 total.
Review Date: 1997-06-11
Having been in management for more than 10 years, I found this book highly informative and wise in its counsel. Each of the seventeen chapters focuses on one area of troubleshooting. Within each troubleshooting area, there are up to nine scenarios in which one may choose which best fits one's problem situation. And, then, after each scenario, possible causes and cures along with "something to think about" are provided. In addition to all of this information -- and this is a real plus -- each scenario is labled a "shark" or an "elephant" or a "wolf"! This enables you, the manager, to prioritize your problems and when to troubleshoot them. For example, if a problem is labled a "shark," it requires your total attention right now (p. viii)! As evidenced by my comments, I strongly recommend this book for every manager's reference shelf

The best "common sense" book on management I've seen.

This handbook was my best friend during some very difficult management years. I would often refer to it when dealing with some sticky problem, and I was always impressed with the "common sense" approach. The brief scenarios and the page or two devoted to the problem was all I ever had time for. I give it to all of my colleagues who are becoming managers for the first time.

THIS IS AN EXCELLANT BOOK VERY WELL WRITTEN. THE INFORMATION CONTAINED IN IT IS VERY HELPFUL FOR ALL IN THE FIELD FROM RESPIRATPORY THERAPY STUDENTS TO RESIDENTS,AS WELL AS THE SEASONED PHYSICIAN. THE PRICE OF 140.00 WAS A LITTLE STEEP FOR STUDENTS TO PURCHACE. I WOULD SUGGEST THIS BOOK IF IT WEREN'T FOR THE PRICE.

I'm sure back in 1976 Mary Ellen might not have been thinking Green. Or maybe she was? But,this book is wonderful! I've had it since the early 1980s and recently dug it back out of my cookbook drawer. I had forgotten all the simple tips and helps! The best thing is THEY WORK! Everything from Antiquing to Zippers is in this book. Using household items such as baking soda, vinegar, salt, and many other things found right in our kitchens. I'm getting one for my daughter to have and this won't be put back in the drawer anytime soon!

How nice to read another student's rerview. The author was a very fine teaccher, but by 1960 the class syayed at the Y with no field trips. We learned from an expert cook and my family enjoyed home-cooked Chinese food because of her fine technique. It IS a GOOD cookbook.

Mrs. Sia was my chinese cooking teacher at the Honolulu Y. in 1958. She was a wonderful teacher and we all adored and respected her. Interestingly, Mrs. James Michener( I think her name was Mariko) was studying with us. Our teacher would take us on field trips to noodle factories, grocery stores and a big restaurant Wo Fat's. I have used this book almost exclusively and want to purchase copies for my daughters and daughters-in-law.I highly recommend this book as easy to read and follow with delicious results.

Cool Math Activities For Hard to Find Topics

I found activities for many hard to find topics included in Math Wizardry. As a teacher I am always on the move searching for applicable, simply put, and interesting activities to use in the classroom. That is not always easy to do. I recommend this text because it gives directions and a pictorial review of the activities along with a simple explanation and benefits of the activity. I recommend it highly to parents and educators alike. This book is a great resource that can easily be used to enhance any math classroom or home study.

Let me just say that I had this set as a child, and am now a math major. It definitely sparked my interest, and taught me a great deal about different sides of mathematics that I didn't hear about in school.
Definitely recommend it for the advanced or curious kid.

The book is structured as a novel that presents a great sales training program. I recommend this book to any sales person who is sick of the old
school approach to selling like convincing, using manipulation, being deceptive, or begging for the sale. Learn a method of selling that quickly qualifies the potential client and guides them to a decision.
