As a new directee, this book was provided to help me understand direction and what to expect from my spiritual director. In my work with the youth of our church, the valuable learnings from this book help me be present to them during our time together.

The Reluctant Spiritual Director came at just the right time for me. As a new spiritual director -- and one who certainly was reluctant to the call -- this book gave me the practical steps and the encouragement I needed to embrace this ministry. Range's book is that of sound academic teaching written in an easy-to-read style. Anyone who is a spiritual director or beginning to feel the call should own this!

I had already read a number of more academic books about spiritual direction when I discovered Fleetwood Range's down-to-earth approach to the topic. Her wealth of experience as a spiritual director, along with her understanding of the ambivalence with which many individuals are called to this ministry, makes her book a valuable tool for discernment. By the time I finished reading it, I was able to say without hesitation, "Yes, spiritual direction is indeed where God is calling me to serve." I highly recommend her book to anyone drawn to this topic.

I am a fourth grade teacher in the southern California area. I bought this book online about six months ago. My students have learned a lot about the California Missions, and find the games entertaining as well. It's easy for them to understand, and gives them creative ideas to work with their information. Learning can be fun! Just ask my students! There need to be more books out there like this.

I got this book from Santa on Christmas. Its so cool! There are lots of games to do, and it helps me with my California Social Studies class too.

I ordered this book for my two sons. Since then, they have enjoyed hours of fun. I even tend to join in on the fun once in a while. The artwork is FABULOUS and the easy learning history is great. This book is great for kids and adults. My kids are actually having fun and learning at the same time. Great job guys!

I scored an 1150 on the SAT. I wanted to get into Stanford, and this score was simply unacceptable. I bought SAT1600 by Professor Michael Fikar, and read the entire book in one week. I was amazed at the way he explained each problem. He takes you step-by-step, giving a detailed analysis of why the answer is what it is, and how to achieve it. I was also amazed at how similar his book was to the actual SAT-I. With Princeton Review and Kaplan, etc...I found that the general theme was learning shortcuts by using the 'plug-in' method, while not really learning the math. I actually became a smarter person by reading SAT1600. Not only that, but my score went up to a 1520, and I got into the school of my dreams. Thank you, Professor Fikar!

I found SAT1600 to be very useful. The authors actually take the SAT and get perfect scores. So they know all about what is on the exam and the best ways to prepare for it. You are able to save a lot of time and concentrate on material that will get you ready for the exam. You can go into the test confident knowing you were well prepared from seeing great examples and clear explanations.

My PSAT score was 910; by using this book I was able to get to 1470 in two tries. What I thought was really good was that all the questions were challenging, no baby questions.I also like the approach they used of asking a question, and then giving the answer and a detailed explanation on the same page- you didn't have to go to the back of the book.Also, the explanations were thorough, you didn't have to constantly fill in steps for yourself.I had tried Barrons, Gruber,Kaplan, and Princeton Review, and they were alright, but Dr. Fikar's book was amazing.I highly recommend it, it was really worth it for me.

As a professor who relies extensively on powerpoint presentations in class--and often on the 'packaged presentations' included with textbook supplemental materials--I am now revising ALL of my slides! Dr. Earnest's succinct book is so packed full of helpful, humorous insights, I read it all in one sitting. Then, I frantically searched through my own powerpoint slides and, sure enough, found "Fireball" and "High Voltage" lurking in my lectures! Surely, my students will appreciate my updated slides. No more "shades of blue so dreary" or "stale potato chips" in my classroom!

Dr. Earnest's book provides succinct, easily implemented guidance for sharpening your presentation visuals. I love this book! It has experiments on almost every science topic. The experiments are easy to do and are a really fun way to discover scientific ideas. I want to try "Put Out a Candle With Sound Waves", "Create Your Own Electric Lemon"----you get a slight tingle when you complete the circuit with your tongue, and "Create a Landfill in a Jar". One drawback is that often the book answers the experiment's question for you. Hands on science that will intrigue kids.

This was an exellent science book!! It tells you so many experiments you can do at home in your spare time!! I did two of the experiments, I made an electric lemon and salad dressing. This book also tells about safty rules you should follow when you do the experiments. And the best part is that there are so many more experiments to do!!

I am one of the church liaisons for prayer requests between members and our prayer groups. We like to include scripture(s) with all prayer requests, and this book has been an absolute gem!

Best book I've ever read on the basic principles of applying the Power of the Holy Written Word of God to your life!!! Everyone should have a copy of this and the "Scripture Keys" book also.

June Newman Davis has done a supurb job at grouping scriptures for most areas we need scripture help in a moments notice. This is a handy reference book that is easily taken with you. I have had mine for over ten years and still refer to it often. Thank you June Newman Davis!

Born in El Paso, raised nearby, lived another 20 years there: I can testify that these are wonderful recipes. Also, the information about the area is accurate and interesting. I own two printings of this book, and have bought it for friends and daughters-in-law (so they would know how to cook for my sons!). All in all, a fine publication.

I've had my copy of Seasoned with Sun since 1978 and am purchasing this version for my 3 grown daughters. This cookbook has grown up with our family (I was raised in El Paso but moved away in 1979) and am thrilled that two family "must-haves" are still in - Jim's Carrot Cake and Sour Cream Banana Pecan Cake.
This book has made me look good for years - now it's my daughters' turn!

This must be the BEST Junior League Cookbook around. It is beautiful, with wonderful Southwestern illustrations. It's layout is unique and easy to use with great tips and hints. All the recipes were thoroughly tested by local families. But the best part of all is the great Southwestern (Mexican) recipes that are easy to follow - no weird ingredients unless reasonable substitutes are listed. And they are absolutely delicious. This is a cut above. It sounds like I'm in Junior League, but I'm not - I just LOVE the cookbook. I found it here because I want to send one to a friend in another part of the country. It's a real favorite of mine.

My family has loved the food, and believe me, I have some picky eaters at my table. The cookbook is extremely user friendly and has many good tips. Because I don't set aside that much time to prepare meals, this cookbook allows me to do that, without guilt, and provides my family many tasty dinners!

This is the best "quick cooking" book I've ever used. The recipes are tasty, varied, and interesting, and are written in a no-nonsense style that makes the book itself easy to use. I've bought copies for young friends in their first apartments, and for middle-aged friends who are experienced cooks. Uniformly rave reviews.

This is an excellent cookbook.

It is a lot of fun to read combining hisotry and cooking (two of my favorite things)! The history it tells doesn't get bogged down in dates and numbers, but rather the people and a typical home in Southern Louisiana. The cookbook is well organized. The recipes are easy to follow and the results are great. I have only good things to say about this cookbook.

My only be aware comment is that most Cajun cooking requires such yummy foods as shrimp, crab, tasso etc. While some of these are available at the local grocery store, some ingredients (tasso, andouille) are only available in the South or via special order.

Wonderful cookbook. Certainly this is one that will stay on my shelves and will be well used and loved.

I have probably made 60 percent of the recipes in this book. They all have turned out wonderfully. P.S. It's also a fun read.

I want to recommend this book to anyone who loves to cook and loves history. The inserts of pictures and stories of the home makes this one great read. Also, I have recently been able to tour this home. It makes this book come to life. Visit the plantation home in New Iberia, Louisiana when you get the chance and buy this book. I bought it 2 weeks ago while visiting this wonderful home and have made many of the recipes listed. All have turned out fantastic.
