Mr. Coleman is obviously more than qualified to write on his subject, and his numerous drawings scattered throughout the text provide a good visual aid for the reader. The narrative is well written from a techincal standpoint and succeeds in enagaging the reader.

A wonderful book!

I can't say I've read many romances, but on the other hand the Italian Quartet cannot be confined to that simple descriptive. And don't be misled by the fact that Coleman is author to a fine set of works about the American West - this is no western. It is a story drawn from the heart, a story of life and love that we all can embrace. With The Italian Quartet, Coleman has produced a classic for our generation. With this perhaps one of her greatest achievements, she has crafted a romance that is poetry for the soul and wonderfully descriptive of the human spirit. Her characters are drawn from life itself; her situations ours; her descriptions of time and place beautiful and unforgettable. This is, truly, a wonderful and enjoyable book.

Crucifixion Redux
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 0 total.
Review Date: 2002-04-21
This beautiful book is an affordable Joe Coleman collectable. I enjoy this the most of any of his work. While some may find this book sacrilegious, I'd say their interpretation of Christ - if this book offends - is what's truly a sacrilege.

While this book many not mirror the perspective of Christ, it certainly seems to capture the agony of the crucifixion saga in a human perspective - even if that human is a little out of the ordinary.

An entire picture of the crucifixion is first presented, then it's component elements are presented in individual die cuts from sections of the paining; each picture's individual story is told by Coleman in a font obviously based on his handwriting. Gold text printed on black paper.

18 tipped-in plates.

John Lennon Conversations

Review Date: 2008-03-13
Ms. Domnitz began channeling John Lennon 4 days after his death and continued to do so on a monthly basis for 26 months to large groups of people all over the world. The results of more than 1000 pages of channelings have been condensed in this volume, The John Lennon Conversations, as well as into the cassette tape.

These transmissions are highly informative, warm, loving, and sometimes humorous, and offer to the world hope for creating the ideal reality by our positive thoughts and emotions. They emphasize the tremendous power of the individual working alone and in groups to positively transform this planet. The ability to accomplish this important mission is insured by the individual's balanced body and mind and by his desire and determination to align himself with this purpose for the highest good.

May you all be inspired to begin your own personal transformations, as well as that of the planet:
"The sun always rises
The sun always sets'
And what we do today,
Affects all the rest."
John Lennon, from the transcript on September 11,1981

I have read this book by Dr. Hatfield and I will have to say that it is a must-read for anyone in the optometry field. Hatfield, besides being the great grandson of Devil Anse Hatfield of the famous feud, is a crafter of words. He offers an inside, and sometimes humorous, look at this special field of health care. Although it's a rare book, it's worth the five or six week wait. Dr. Hatfield, congratulations on a winning title.

Adorable and clever book about twins
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 0 total.
Review Date: 2000-07-22
This book is a book about identical twins designed for the young preschool reader. Although the illustrations aren't quite as wonderful as the text, the book is a delight both aurally and visually. Kevin and Ben are identical twin boys who bring their parents joy, exhausation and even confusion -- their parents can't tell them apart at one point. I won't spoil the surprise by telling you how the mistake is ultimately set right.

Written in clever and readable rhyme, the book follows the boys from birth to big boy-hood and concludes with a really touching observation that, despite some of the inevitable pitfalls of having an identical twin, there is a special quality to the relationship that more than compensates for those pitfalls.

A must-read for anyone with young twins and a pleasure for anyone with young children.

I only wish this book were published in hardcover, as it should be to match its status as a classic.

Really good buy!!!

I bought this book two years ago, and I have used it a lot! Not only does it give patterns for various costumes, but you can also find ideas about how to use the patterns for other costumes with only small changes. And if you are planning a party you can find a whole lot of ideas how to make it THE PARTY! With themes for several parties this is a really helpful book to own. Some of my friends have borrowed it and have used the ideas from the book. This is a "must have" for all of you that love to sew, make great parties, and have kids on top!!!

This is an amazing story of personal tragedy and triumph. I have to say, this is one of the most inspirational books I've ever read. The author has an exceptional ability of bringing the story to life, by expressing sensitive issues so many people face, and yet find it hard to talk about. A book that empowers you to value yourself and others with love and respect!

A great challenge to traditional views of women & the West
Helpful Votes: 8 out of 8 total.
Review Date: 1999-07-30
Beautifully written and wonderfully detailed, this book looks at literature by women who, in different ways, make "the West" their home. But Comer overturns defintions of the West as simply the old frontier and "the big sky." The West is black women in LA and Asian women in San Fransisco and Native Indian women writing about their modern lives. The book has very interesting interpretations of contempory women's literature, but the best part is the way it makes you re-think what you thought you knew about the "West." Put away your cowboy images, this book shows the West as a diverse region that has produced some of the best fiction writers in the nation.
