while I stopped collecting some other Archive Editions I still collect Plastic man. It impresses me more than all the others.
All 8 Volumes are real gems. For me Jack Cole is among the 5 best comic book artists of all time. He is an inspiration for
countless other artists but no one can cope with him. From the start Plastic man was outstanding but getting even better.
In this volume the drawings are funnier and more detailed than ever. Beside in Volume 5 and 6 when Jack Cole had some helping
hands this volume is completely his work. In the fiftieth when a lot of superhero titles were canceled Platic man survived.
The outrageous humor and the fast forward action made it so popular and nowadays a classic. When Mr Cole left Plastic man
the title fades away and it was not possible to reanimate it because no artist had Cole's vast imagination and his unique
way of story telling. Plastic man is highly recommended to funloving people. I hope there will be Volume 9 soon.

Dr. Cole's book has baptized me, awakening me to the wonders of the theatre. Her carefully researched and and excellently
written book is a must own companion for anyone interested in the inner workings of the theatre and the crucial relationship
between playwright, director, and actor. A wonderful book.

I work in an elementary school library. We always use this book as an example for "Poems" when teaching about poems. The
poems are fun for children, and not to long. The rhyming is fun and of course kids can relate to the "food" items they rhyme
about. I would recommend this poem for all beginning poem & rhyme readers. Have fun-read a book!

Catherine Cole's book--about literary mentorship and friendship across generations--tells us much about the development of
the writer, as well as a great deal more--about pleasures and joy, and growing up. It is a sheer delight, sumptuously written
and carefully considered.

This is an important collector's item that you should never play because it is vinyl, and it will be worth more money unplayed.
If you want to listen to Hedwig Gorski do her performance poetry with music, get the new CD Send in the Clown. The Performance
Poetry of Hedwig Gorski and East of Eden Band: Send in the Clown (Poets Media Projects)
I am a fan of Hedwig Gorski's work since I started researching performance poetry as a historical predecessor to Slam poetry. I think I found something better than slam, and it is performance poetry. I have to recommend this CD of the someone who is called the original performance poet, Hedwig Gorski, because she made up the term to publicize what she started doing in the late 1970s. There is a great book out linked in this review that shows how she started with what she called in a recent interview as "neo-verse drama" coupled with "conceptual art." You don't hear about literary artists doing anything this new and daring anymore. Here is a link to the book if you want to read about something so bizarre and unexpected, that it will spin your ideas about poetry around 360 degrees. Here is the book link. It reminds me of a real-world Harry Potter. Intoxication: Heathcliff on Powell Street
The band work like that in the "Clown" CD comes after the performance poetry theater events archived in the book. If anything, it sounds much more radio friendly and even entertaining. She comes "as close to singing as anyone can without really singing," a playwright wrote of Gorski vocals. It is really something that should be part of every slam poet's collection. Has anyone been thinking that all the slam poets are beginnig to sound the same? How about Def Poets? Are they all beginnning to deliver the same style of poems and voice inflections? I think so. That is why performance poetry is so much better than slam. Especially the one and only original performance poet, so-called, on the CD. Gotta hear it and own it before the CDs disappear. Really a treat.
So buy the vinyl. I have it and think it will become the most valuable item, a huge part of my collection of audio poetry. I have them all, Ginsberg, Dylan Thomas, Giorno, but this is much more rare and post-Beat/pre-slam. But buy the CD I linked to listen to every day.

I bought this to learn about performance poetry after becoming a fan of slams. What a difference! I had to borrow my DJ friend's
turntable to listen to the vinyl record. Roxy Gordon is a Choctow Indian, and the music with "Greater Circles" is pretty singer-songwriter,
southwestern, but that is part of Native culture now, too. Except for Joy Cole's High Coup, the audio contains bands with
spoken vocals. Both bands are very different. East of Eden is lively and exotic spoken poetry that fits perfectly into the
music. It is more introspective and less confrontational than most slam. It's more abstract but very entertaining and intriguing.
I would like to hear more. I thought Hedwig Gorski was a male poet until I heard the record. The photo of her is pretty wild.
The chapbook is really nicely put together with the words to the poems available and some artwork and photos. These little
collectors' items are a much better way to learn about poets and poetry than taking a class. I can see the connection between
performance poetry and slams.

Reality Check Delivered

This is a very important book for the study of regulation. The book puts into perspective (and escapes) the laissez-faire-ist
fever that has taken over a significant part of the legal academy. Although unrestricted private property may be an appropriate
policy in several instances, problems do exist where different regulatory systems perform better. Professor (and dear colleague
and friend) Daniel Cole juxtaposes types of problems and types of regulatory responses based on property concepts. This juxtaposition
reveals that a continuum of types of property, from unrestricted private ownership to complete public ownership, have been
used to solve policy problems. Professor Cole explains the success of each on the basis of the problem's features. What is
revealed is nothing less than a general system of regulation. The book goes beyond the notion that different problems have
different solutions. Here we are told what solution tends to fit each type of problem. It is no surprise that this book has
enjoyed glowing reviews (see. e.g. Prof. J. Wandesford-Smith in PolSci).

Excellent Introduction to Sikhism

This dictionary contains most of the terms that are related to Sikhism. Although not really an introductory course, by reading
the definitions of so many words in the Sikh vocabulary, one gets an idea of what the religion is all about, including its
relation to Islam and Hinduism, the two related faiths of India. The book lists the major figures in Sikhism, an outline
of the history of the religion, a list of the sacred books, theology and a general overview of the philosophy, both in the
introduction and in the definitions itself. A great aid for those interested in the faith.
