Although the author is listed inocrrectly, the DOONSEBURY CHRONICLES are as funny and observant as they were in the '80s. Excellent history of the times.

This book is the most amazing and wonderful book I have read in ages. Arthur Clarke clarifies my thoughts on religion and many other ideas that I have had for a very long time. I was brought up in a very strict christian home by my widowed mother and although she did her best for me, for which I am very grateful, her religion and her church left me with a load of old baggage which I am now just starting to get rid of. I am 66 years of age and love this book.

These old stories seem out of time and yet they bring us back to times that were more gentle yet more unforgiving. I really like a sad story by Ugo Ojetti. It is called Mozaffar and Shirbudun. Also I loved The Boy Who Drew Cats by Lafcadio Hearn. It's a little different from what we are used to. It makes it very interesting.

This is a fantastic book every minister and achieving minister should read! I found Fletcher Spruce to have written a truly inspiring and enlightening book!

A Clarke collection that again wisely leads off with the best story, finishing with another of his best, and a few other higher quality pieces are scattered throughout. Also some short entertainments like the Robin Hood story and Feathered Friend, all of the not very long at all variety.

Actually a 3.61 average here, rathed good.

The truth of the Gospel and tenets of Biblical Christianity illustrated as I've never seen written nor heard preached in my lifetime.

The author's concern for the state of men's eternal souls is palpable.

Sound, Biblical exposition. Solid spiritual meat to satisfy the hungry seekers soul. A bright light under which to "Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith;..." (2 Corinthians 13:5)

Read the chapter entitled "Few Saved" and judge if you are one of the "few" who's found the narrow way.

Read the chapter on the Holy Ghost, and the absolute necessity of receiving Him so that we are empowered to walk in the Spirit as the Word commands.

It's time we cast off preconceived ideas and denominational doctrines that do not line up with the whole Word of God. We need to be healed of our spiritual blindness and self-righteousness. May the Lord grant all who read this book "eyes to see and ears to hear". Your soul depends upon it!

Adele Wiseman tells the story of her mother's dollmaking. The dolls are all different, made from "found" objects, and are made mainly to be given to sick children. Adele gradually teases out the deeper impulses behind her mother's activity, in the process revealing a lot about what creativity really is: part of our human birthright, and not restricted to an exclusive club of "great artists" (although Adele Wiseman's novels arguably show her as a great artist herself). The book traces a deepening path of gradual revelations about what is really going on. It is an inspiring and, finally, moving tribute.

Author Clarke Stallworth has an enviable reputation as a talented reporter, editor, college teacher and trainer of journalists. Above all Stallworth is a great storyteller and an excellent writer. His book is a collection of short stories mostly about Alabamians during the Civil War. The tales are arranged chronologically from 1860 through the emigration of many Southerners to Brazil in 1867.

The crisp accounts portray incidents in the lives of the famous such as Confederate Army Brigadier General Nathan Bedford Forrest as well as virtual unknowns like Confederate Army Captain William H. Lawrence and Thomas F. Dornblasser, the Union Army soldier who killed Captain Lawrence. Anyone interested in the history of Alabama and the Civil War will surely enjoy this book.

This book is used here in Chile to teach English in advanced courses and it has very interesting information about religious issues.
I would recommend it to anyone who wants to know something more about religious beliefs, and other topics related to ethics and moral.

It is written in a very comprehensive manner. Even a non-mathematician application oriented person can comprehend it.
The book is a reference book without diminishing importance.
