Clarke Books

My 6-year-old loves the whole series of "...Out" books (i.e. Freak..., Bug...etc.) It has been hard to find him books that he can't wait to read until now. He reads it to us to share the interesting facts or at bedtime has us read it to him...he has yet to get tired of this book!

This was a great book. I could not put it down. Real life action that was fast paced and exciting. I recommend it highly to anyone who is "in the business".

First, the above "description" is wacked. This book is about the Triumph GT6 Mark I, II and III, the GT6+, the SAH GT6 and a bit about the spit, yes the Spitfire. It contains road tests, tuning info, driving impressions, comparison tests, tons of photos. They seem to be largely culled from British motoring magazines 1966-74. Aye, one of the more reliable Triumphs! (At least my saffron Mark II was!) Fascinating and scarce look back at the old beater! The turkey with torque! The mini-Jag with a jolt! Whatta ripper! It was ace!!!!

Jane Clarke's Body Foods for Life is an excellent book on nutrition. Without being too overbearing, she explains what you should eat and why. The "why" part is simple enough to understand, and yet convincing enough to follow.
Unlike her American counterparts (Clarke is British), she does not administer heavy doses of vitamins to her readers, nor does she banish the use of cream/butter and beef. Clarke's phlosophy on food is that of moderation and variety. I do find this very refreshing (especially after Nestle's hefty tome on the same subject). By all means, buy this book and start eating REAL foods for your health!

Of all the women's health books out there, this is one of the best. I have read it cover-to-cover, and recommend it to friends who enthusiastically feel the same. Jane Clarke is a revelation.

If I could get $107 a copy for this book I would be most happy!
Its still in print and costs £2.50 a copy.

This Book is PHENOMENAL!!!!!! Why? WHY??? I'll tell you why! The things in the Chemical Amusements like--- on second thought I won't tell you cuse' it's to good to be true! Just to make it sweet and simple i'll tell you this: every thing combined makes it a awesome book ;>)

Clarke's well researched book details the terrorist bombing of of King David by the Irgun. This incident claimed the lives of 91 people including Jews and put Menachem Begin at the top of Britian's most wanted terrorists list. A must read for those who seek a complete picture of the Middle East and the terrorism employed to reach one's goals.

This Brooklands book is a collection of magazine articles from various car magazines from 1987-93. This book is the last word on the Allante. Some color some BW pictures. The Allante was a wonderful car but like today's XLR over-priced and stuggling to attract younger buyers.
