A True Guide to the Language of Hafiz

For anyone interested in understanding the depth of the poetry of Hafiz, Clarke's translations are a must. His comprehensive knowledge of Sufism and the hidden meanings in Hafiz' poetry is superior to any renderings that have come before these translations or after. Well worth reading whether for pleasure or research.

This book is an excellent tool for learning Persian. What could be added, if anything, is the book in farsi of which the author speaks. But since one is supposed to study, is kind of fun to search through the web or with the help of Iranian friends, in libraries or wherever, the texts in persian.

One or two originals (texts in persian) are certainly enough for at least six month's study. So with a book like this all that one needs is to work with patience, pleasure, and with the hope that the spirit of Hafiz will come to whisper into the student's heart.

A great read! Done in the no-nonsense style of the great Western writer, Louis Lamore this book brings WWII to life in a very personal, gut level way. "Dutch" reminds me of the days when we knew the good guys from the bad, when there were standards of conduct and the lines were not blurred. This book is not only a great read but it serves as a memorial to those who suffered for our freedom...discovering that freedom is not free. You'll have trouble putting it down.

Bravo! Bravo! BRAVO!
What a wonderful ending you have crafted for this tale! I was entranced, right to the final word. You've pulled together the many threads of this book in a way that your readers will find deeply rewarding. Applause, applause!

Thanks for this wonderful reading/editing experience, Judith Myers

Shocking Murder Cover-up Definitively Exposed
Helpful Votes: 34 out of 36 total.
Review Date: 2000-08-13
'Patrick (Knowlton) did nothing to deserve the outrageous treatment he received at the hands of the OIC (Office of Independent Counsel) and its FBI agents. He did nothing to deserve being yanked into this FBI debacle, having his life turned upside down, and having to endure this fight for his reputation. Patrick's only `crime' was reporting to the authorities what he had seen at Fort Marcy Park, consistent with his understanding of his duties as a good citizen.' (From the preface of 'Failure of the Public Trust, FBI Cover-up.com')

What Knowlton saw at about 4:30 pm, July 20, 1993, were all the cars that were in Fort Marcy's parking lot at the time, and none of them matched the photographs of White House Deputy Counsel Vincent W. Foster's car that were shown to him later by FBI agents. Meanwhile, Foster was lying dead in the back of the park. That simple fact is the genesis of this remarkable legal document, now available to the public as a book.

You will not learn in these 511 pages who murdered Vincent Foster or why, nor will you find a trace of any partisan swipes at the Clintons. You WILL see revealed in painstaking detail how the cover-up was carried out by the police, the FBI, and by our other major organs of power, not the least of which have been the news media. The greatest achievement of this book is the complete reconstruction of the evening of July 20, using in a very transparent fashion every available public document. Their method may be contrasted, as the authors point out, with Kenneth Starr, three-quarters of whose references are to supporting work by associates, work that is still kept secret. Following the drawings, the cast of characters, and the time line, as you read the book you can imagine yourself at Fort Marcy Park watching people come and go. You will get to see how, as the evening progressed, dried blood around a neck wound turned into wet blood from a mouth and head wound and how all the photographs taken of the original scene disappeared. You will also learn how utterly absurd is the story of the investigating officers that they visited the morgue before two White House officials got there and miraculously found two sets of keys in Foster's pants pocket, keys that they had somehow missed when they went through his pockets in the park. Apart from the patent absurdity of the story on its face, it cannot be reconciled with the time of connected events. And you will see solid evidence for the authors' claim that this is, above all, an FBI cover-up. They show that, contrary to the assertions of some leading White House critics, the FBI was heavily involved in the sham investigation from the beginning. Furthermore, the same FBI agents were key 'investigators' for both Robert Fiske and Kenneth Starr, thus making a farce of these prosecutors' putative 'independence.'

With this prodigious work John Clarke, Patrick Knowlton, and Hugh Turley have moved to the head of the line of those exposing corruption in America's major institutions. Every concerned citizen ought to read it.

Vincent Foster was murdered. That day on July 20, 1993, two men got out of a vehicle. There were a few other men there also. What did those men want so bad that day? That man kept on insisting that he didn't have it. Have what? What was so important that those men had to kill a man? To this day, I still would like to know what they were looking for. I think about it almost daily, wondering what the reason. That man that got shot that day, did not have a chance. It was obvious, he was set-up.

This book should prove to anyone familiar with MBTI that Jesus is the complete God and perfect man! He embodies all four of the major functions: Thinking, Feeling, Sensing and Intuiting. If you study the Bible further, you will realize that He's also the perfect balance between Extraversion and Introversion, as well as Perceiving and Judging. What a wonderful Shepherd we have: surely only He can relate to all of our personality types!

This book presents an outstanding understanding of the personality types including psychosocial development. It correlates Jungian personality types (and Meyers-Briggs Type Indicators) to a spiritual and biblical context to help us in our journey toward wholeness. This is an excellent resource for personal growth as well as retreat material. I am a psychotherapist and a spiritual director. I have used it for many years with my directees to help them better understand themselves in relationship to God, scripture, and their spiritual growth.

This is a very extensive and complete coverage of World War II German weapons and equipment. Portions of the information may also be also be found in pages 308-422 of The Handbook on German Military Forces 1945, Directory of Wheeled Vehicles of the Wehrmacht, 128 pages and a WE publication of German Combat Weapons, 212 pages. Printed on glossy stock paper, it is a direct copy of various US Army World War II intelligence bulletins so the photos aren't that great. It is probably the best one volume reference available for WW2 history buffs and wargamers and has lots of stuff for scratch-builders.

Great book!!! If you are a WWII re enactor, or rich enough to be a collector of WWII German vehicles, you will find tech. info. and pictures on everything from tanks, trucks, to small wagons one can pull with your Kittenrad! I think those who enjoy building WW II German models would like this book too for the tech. info. and pictures in it. Maybe even gamers would enjoy this book so they can argue tech. facts and the reality of the game piece movement with one another! The information was taken from US Intel. files from WWII, I think, so you feel like you are some high brass intel. guy when you read this book!(Smile)Anyway, buy this book and see for yourself.

In this collection of sermons and talks, Clarke Oler, a semi-retired priest and psychotherapist, offers words of wisdom to those coping with, or needing to cope with, transitions, grieving, forgiveness, faltering faith, and other timely topics. He manages to do this without being preachy or judgmental and always maintains a sense of gentle compassion which is especially clear in his touchingly honest chapter titled "Confessions of a Christian Agnostic".

Entertaining and Excellent Light Reading for All Age Groups

This book is large enough at 10" x 12" to be considered a `coffee table' book. The book features a nice mix of scientific explanation, biographical information, and excellent pictures.

The history starts with ancient astronomical structures and Polynesian navigators and continues in a progressive timeline to the 1976 Mars Viking landers and current SETI antennas. The latest Mars rovers and Phoenix lander are not covered.

I highly recommend the book for light bedtime reading. As the book isn't too technical, it is suitable for younger readers. At the same time, it provides intriguing enough information to encourage me to search the web for additional details regarding some of the astronomers and topics that are presented.
